OKay, what do you put in your stuffed peppers? When I've made them, it's been like a meatloaf mix with added rice. Here's hoping the dizziness has passed.

INE, you're a whirlwind today, wishing I could keep up...

he loves to talk about all the things dogs will eat... basically anything.
I think in their book, P & P mentioned once that their neighbor had a dog named Lasagne that was a garbage retriever; I've used that line many a time to describe Macs.

Ooooh, Nancy, is freezer duty today?

CathyS, good to have you posting with us today.

LOL, MT, I totally know what you mean. DH basically wanted boxes in garage emptied after our move, even when I didn't have room for them inside. I preferred to empty a few, then integrate those things in, before emptying more boxes. He was hot to get pictures on walls also and drove me crazy because he didn't know where he wanted anything, he just wanted it up.

Harmony, I did see last night that dd's dog doesn't like thunder and lightening and had to be under your feet. What are we going to do with these dogs?

Dh and I went to TJ Maxx and got a bd present for him and one for me for last week. Also got an oversized ottoman that dh liked, but I think it's way too big for our space so will go back.

Nice to have a day w/o other commitments

Thank you for giving me permission to be lazy, blessed! :D

I saw something you posted in another thread, and it was so good I thought I would share it here, too, blessed. I hope you don't mind! Right now, my dh is in a very good mood, and usually we do balance each other out pretty well. When one of us is stressed out or in the depths of despair, usually the other can give needed perspective -- but sometimes, it is just as you said:
You can say yes it can be frustrating but if he is in a mood you can't change it. There is no arguing when someone wants to be in a mood or complains. All you can do is to release some of his energy from you and know that it is his to work out. Give yourself a really nice day!
I think most of us need to remember that from time to time. Thank you for stating it so well. You are very wise.

Let's see...
This is the On My Mind stuff that REALLY needs to be done before Jan. 1:
[ ] grade papers
[ ] record grades in gradebook
[ ] post grades in computer
[ ] set up gradebook for new semester * That could really wait until school workday on Jan. 2, no rush for this one.
[ ] color hair w/new color * Navajo Bronze, I believe, is what I have settled on. It was recommended by the C lairol lady.
-- but first must do
[ ] skin test, wait 48 hours
[ ] strand test
-- so at best, cannot color hair until Monday!

[ ] catch up on 3 weeks of ironing. * Yes. 3 Weeks. I did not think ironing lady was going to quit on me.
[ ] watch Paint Your Wagon on dvd while catching up on ironing.
[ ] download pictures to computer and to S napfish for developing
[ ] order book for dh * another make-up Christmas gift he couldn't find before Christmas
[ ] put pictures in new picture frame & hang

I made this list out Thursday, and so far I have been able to check off a few items:
* reconciled checkbook
* went w/dh to get SUV from dealer & took to dcousin
* used gift card to purchase picture frame w/four spaces
(I think I'm going to put dgs pics in it -- birth/2/4/6 months pictures, and then update periodically)
* swapped pants that dh got me for Christmas
* also ordered myself a little post-Christmas gift book: 52 Little Lessons from It's a Wonderful Life. :D It's on backorder right now, but that's okay. I'll love it whenever it arrives. I love Jimmy Stewart, and that is one of my very, very favorite movies!

I think I absolutely MUST go s2s. That is truly the key to my day. I MUST remember this when I retire. I should BURN all my housecoats!!!

Don't do it blessed! :D You don't need to go to Indianhead for a vacation.

I'm back with dd14, the last trip of the day -- I think. Before I got her, I tidied the kitchen, filed a bunch of receipts, went through today's mail and put everything away. Only one item for "the pile" -- that dh needs to look at.

Dfriend A is going to come by tonight after dinner. Dinner. . . .it will either be pizza, freezer items, or bfast for dinner.

Next for me:
- tidy the MBR
- clean the guest g pigs' cage; they're being picked up tomorrow afternoon
- do a lol

Be strong, blessed! Resist!

I need to hide the credit card, too! Online shopping has made it waaay too easy to spend $$.
I am now in the process of downloading photos. Good grief, my computer is slow!

However, to update my END of YEAR LIST:
[x] reconciled checkbook
[x] went w/dh to get SUV from dealer & took to dcousin
[x] used gift card to purchase picture frame w/four spaces
[x] swapped pants that dh got me for Christmas
[x] ordered myself a little post-Christmas gift book: 52 Little Lessons from It's a Wonderful Life.
[/] download pictures to computer and to S napfish for developing
[x] transferred/updated all files from computer to external hard drive
[x] order book for dh
[x] emailed (what I hope was an encouraging message) to a distant cousin who is dealing w/her 90 year old dgm in one room of nursing home in rehab while her 70-something year old dmom is in the next room hopefully recovering from very severe stroke... so sad...
[ ] grade papers
[ ] record grades in gradebook
[ ] post grades in computer
[ ] set up gradebook for new semester
[ ] color hair
[ ] skin test, wait 48 hours
[ ] strand test
[ ] catch up on 3 weeks of ironing.
[ ] watch Paint Your Wagon on dvd while catching up on ironing
[ ] put pictures in new picture frame & hang

Waving to helia... INE... scattered... Nancy... Cathy... MT... (((Harmony)))... Ivy... Twins... Harriet... Dee... and anyone else I may have missed!

and blessed -- I think putting the tree outside w/just the lights on is a GREAT idea. Our decorations, tree included, will come down on New Years Day, I hope! DH's suggestion -- said he would help.

Lucylee, my friend from church has the most beautiful red hair, it's almost auburn; she recently told me she takes 3 different reds and mixes them and uses that. Her shade is so nice I always thought she got it professionally done. That would make her hair color 3X's as expensive, but she said she gets them on sale for $3-$4 a box. I have no idea how she figured out how to do that.

Twins, DDog has been under the computer table once again. I guess she considers it her own special doggie cave. I am sitting here with the file drawers to my right pulled out and another office chair, the wastebasket and a stool lined up at my left so she cannot get under. Somehow she figured out how to nudge something aside with her nose...just like she gets into my garbage pull-out in the kitchen. Whata dog!

OKay, hope nothing's brewing to make you sick, like a cold settling in your ears, etc.

I'm progressing with my bookkeeping. Made a sheet for the account we closed out; did a totals sheet.

Been helping DH on and off; he replaced the pump in our windshield washer. Hard to get 16 yr old parts. He had to go to about 5 places to get the right one. Lucylee, what's going on with your car now?

I see y'all taking Christmas decorations down. I made a remark to DH about ours and he said to leave the tree up until Easter. For someone who doesn't have anything to do with the decorating, he sure likes for me to leave them up because they're pretty! This year they aren't bothering me at all because I don't have so many things up that they're overwhelming. I'm still loving seeing the little tree lit up in the evening. I might wait another week or so.

Ok, i knew this would happen..... Im pooped. I really need to learn to pace myself sometimes. I am not going to much more today/tonight except keeping the laundry marathon going. It seems the more I do around here, the more I find that needs doing. So for today, I am going to stop that, lol.

Dh is outside clearing snow again. All he has to do this time is the driveway and front walk. We got probably another 4-5 inches thruout today but I think it has stopped for now. Hopefully it has. I have the veggie lasagna in the oven now and we will eat when he gets inside.
I also have to get clothes ready for church in the morning, but other than those things, Im thinking an early bedtime might just be in order tonight. Hopefully I will wake up early enough to get a few things done before church and that will motivate me to continue it when I get home. Oh and I need to do a weekly menu and grocery list tonight. I guess Im not really done for the day after all, lol.

Three days left as of tomorrow.....I can do this. I think I can I think I can I think I can.

See you all tomorrow!!!

PS...scattered, I'll call you tomorrow after I get home in the morning.

INE - is your internet back up yet silly question huh?

OKay - stuffed bell peppers! YUMMY! I think I will have DS20 pick up a head of cabbage and make stuffed cabbage rolls.

LucyLee - don't feel bad... I have no real energy either.
I should BURN all my housecoats!!!

Blessed - DS13 & I saw Les Misarbles on Christmas day and it was well worth the crowd, we got there early and were #3 & #4 in line for seats, I had a very pleasant chat with the DMom and her DD18 while we waited. Freeze the credit card and go see the movie instead.

Twins - enjoy your commitment free day, you deserve it

Helia - wish I had the funds for pizza :(

Harmony - great job on the bookkeeping.

UGH!!! I think I am coming down with whatever my DBoss had this week. I have now taken Zinc, Echinacea, Vit D, and Vit C. DS13 & BFF wanted to go to the library so they talked DS20 into giving them a ride since it closes at 5pm they are also going to stop at the grocery store while they are out. 8-) I really feel like crap... may go lay down for another hour before I make dinner, they had a late lunch so should be good for a while... I hope. addng They just called and they found ground lamp and strip steaks marked down! :P Now I can try the Gyro recipe! 8-)

DS13 has VERY curly hair and with the dry weather it was starting to look like a brillo pad, so I mayonnaised it. Still rather dry looking but better, I put some Moroccan Oil in it after he washed out the mayo. He wants it cut but not by me (I only cut with clippers which means ultra short), I told him either he starts taking better care of it or I will cut it.

The DK's finally got the spare room cleaned out now all we need to do is make the bed up, DS20 has promised to clean up the LR since I am not feeling good. :)

ToDo/TaDa's

oh so cute d harmony -
d Helia and d Lucy thank you. Sounds silly but that inner voice (the brat inside) has been very strong when both dd's are home... like I am supposed to make their world "magical" while they are home. I needed the voice of reason, others may not need it but I do so thank you. . I know it would take me forever to pay it off. I can take them to a local hill to ski. I tend to be a dreamer regarding vacations and not plan ahead for finance and suffer for it.

d ine: can you send your snow to me!

hi scattered.. wishing you a great evening

Wasn't planning to post -- but I am so curious. . . . Scattered, did you REALLY put mayonnaise in your ds' hair?? What does that do? My dh and dd17 have very curly hair; dd17 wears hers long, though, which drags down the curls. And dh's doesn't ever get to the brillo pad stage. He never combs it, though, doesn't even own a comb. Just washes it, tousles it dry, and goes. It looks fine, thank goodness - since appearances aren't too important to dh. His hair line is receding very very slowly, but one canno't tell when looking at him.

OK - kids are asking about dinner so I'm going to go online and order some pizza -- devoted chef that I am. :D
