It is not right that soldiers don't get fed breakfast. How do they expect them to perform their duties?
Course, I'm not one to talk, I've yet to eat.
I don't know what to do about my impossible schedule. I just seem to work and work and work from the moment I get up and I'm never caught up, I'm always behind in so many things.
So far today:
1. paid bills
2. got kitchen dishes soaking
3. Got green beans from bowl in fridge into freezer (didn't get that completed yesterday after par-boiling them)
4. got all dishes gathered up and soaking in sink
5. made big batch of chilli, needed to do something with the meat I'd bought, dd never did come down for the DDog, but I made the chilli today and I'll have some for dinner and put the balance in freezer in case she comes...
6. updated, fixed, etc., one more report on rental house, all ready for the cpa. Copied sheet ready for next year in computer.
7. I framed and hung my 5x7 picture of dgkids standing in a row behind sofa all wrapped up in their quilts. Put it over the sewing machine. Whenever I get time, I'll try to share it here.
Alright, I'm off to eat something and get to those dishes.

look at all the work you all have been doing!!! Great job everyone.
spent so much more than I had planned. I really wanted to take that credit class but it isn't in the budget right now and I would have to put it on the charge card... not doing that so I will have to study here at home this semester.
I could easily get caught up with something fun like sewing or reading or taking d dogs to woods (which would make me and them happy

) but I will push myself to a fun activity that will benefit my family. (also wash the remaining 2 loads of laundry or until new baby laundry's come again)

blessed, classes start again for ds (and dh) next Wed., Jan. 9. I'll move him back to his dorm Monday or Tuesday.
I'm finally back from all my driving with d14. *phew* Her embrasure was getting tired during the rehearsal, so I think they ended that a tad early. Ds is not making noise about shopping yet, so I'm going to reclaim our kitchen. It is so far gone that it is really bothering me.
And dh DID find many photos during that 4 year gap!
There are no photos of dd17 btwn. ages 2 months and 10 months, but that is a huge improvement over the previous believed 2.5 year gap. It is possible that life was so busy at the time that I didn't take many photos; dd17 was preemie and only 18 months younger than ds. And back then, dh travelled A LOT for his job. No family nearby -- we've never had that, so. .. .I may have had other things on my mind. Those were grand days -- and hard days with the little ones.
My blog was mainly for our 6 month sabbatical in Australia and travels in Asia en route there and back. I toyed with the idea of continuing it once back in the US, but I never did. In fact, I never even finished it; I never put up photos of Beijing or the rest of my Australia photos. MT has a great blog! --I see she is on so maybe she will respond to your query, blessed.

I pay for my blog thru MyTripJournal.com. The nice thing is that you can password the blog so only those you have given the password can read it. Mine is open to the public.
Trying to get organized - inventory what is in the MH, List what we want to put in MH (and date), continue demolition of remodel area, prepare appliances for Habitat, cleaning goals. All have to be in the next 2 weeks.
Next up is to check dryer and see if MH bedding is dry and then go make the bed.

Errands done: Library, recycling, grocery store
Made bed, put away dishes, cleaned toilets...also still rearranging here. Moved wire shelves to different bathroom. Dumped big, old tv onto back porch. DH will have to take it from there. Plan to move bookshelf next. Should do a quick vacuum also.
Waving to everyone!

Feel better, Lilac.
I don't know what to do about my impossible schedule. I just seem to work and work and work from the moment I get up and I'm never caught up, I'm always behind in so many things.
I am fighting this feeling, too. Remember, January and February are better months, in general, as far as catching up on the behind-ness of the holidays. Just keep plugging, I guess. Sometimes I feel I get more done in a couple hours after alarm ring than I used to get done in half a day. Yet, I am further behind than I used to be. It's hard to figure out how to reconcile that. DVetNeighbor says February has consistently been her best catch-up month and she looks forward to it because more things in her life will have calmed down, more organization will be evident. Remember, Harmony, you've been living the dream (hand-creating a keepsake for each of 5 grandsons) so slowly you are bound to see change and familiar success as you get back to normal daily schedules.
I'm a little down about how slow the closet and decor-put away is going. I need to remember that I am both cleaning and decluttering together, plus the holiday put-away is a yearly chore added in, and can't be counted against declutter time, really. My ddad did not take kindly to waiting for the linens to be finished. He planted himself in the middle of the living room and criticized the reception of the tv, that sort of thing, and did not nap because he couldn't nap with his sheets and bedspread as he expected them. So that put me off schedule. Trying to explain that it takes time is fruitless, because the passage of time is not clear to him.
What does OKay mean about feeding and watering birds?
What does blessed mean about new baby laundry?
mind was running in circles - that, I understand
lazy but happy funk - that, I understand
noticing that both Emptynester and Lilac have used the word, "demolition" lately. Let's do try to keep the houses in one piece, now!
helia, I'm so happy for you that photos were redeemed.
Reminds me of Elizabeth's joy when hers were.
DPCall done and appropriate calendaring handled.

Very enjoyable day but I'm not actually doing anything! Hair cut and highlights were a success. Dkids had lunch w rabbi but I heard from dd that ds wasn't very sociably inclined. Ds' friend B had spent the night here, and flushed his car keys down the toilet so that caused a stir. His car is still here, awaiting pick up, and thankfully, they went on down and didn't clog up the pipes.
I had a nice nap and read awhile. Going to work a little and then get ready to go to temple.
-empty the dishwasher
-unpack a box from Amazon.com - battery candles
-purge refrigerator
-start a lol
It's back to work on Monday - I'm feeling very melancholy. Dh doesn't get it that I really don't want to be working these days. Financially he keeps telling me how he's had the "best year ever" last year. The amount I take home is extremely minimal in comparison. (I do fully fund my 401(k) which reduces my take home pay....)

Somewhere, someone mentioned the Pocket Mod. Just the tool I needed for the next two weeks. THANK YOU. Why do I keep forgetting about this wonderful tool?
So I went there and made one - have front and back covers of personal info and emergency card (which eliminates a card in my wallet. Inside front is weekly calendar, next 4 are TODO - MH, Remodel, House & Tasks and inside back cover is groc. list. This should keep me on task and I have a place to jot reminders so I don't forget to do something.

This day took some u-turns.
Since the family room was looking a bit bare, I decided to fill the fountain and turn it on. This is a 18" wide, 2' high wall of water fountain made of 'stone.' As usual it splashed when starting, then ran fine.
Thankfully, dh was supportive of my idea to trim the picture window behind the fountain with white mini-lights. While working behind the fountain (it is 18" from the wall), I noted the floor was wet from the tube not fitting tight. Dh started to fix that but then I noted more water seeping. Sure enough, the fountain was no longer water tight, it had deteriorated over the years (sitting in the hot window probably didn't help.) It is a slow leak, so I'll try moving it to the garden in the summer but for now it is in the garage.
If I hadn't put up the lights, we would not have noticed the leak until the hardwood floor under the fountain was ruined.
Due to the bare space where the fountain was, I started to move more stuff around in that room, moving a bookcase and generally driving dh nuts since I kept asking for his help.
In between all this, I responded to a Wanted on Freecycle asking for used computer equipment. The guy happened to be traveling to the next village today so called and gave us an hour to pull the hard drives out of the laptops and for me to go through a tower of drawers we have in the basement that was full of stuff. We gave him 3 laptops, a laser printer and two more boxes of assorted accessories.
But dh was pulled from his project for today, missed a deadline, so is now in a bad mood. I have a headache and the family room, living room and dining room are still out of sorts (but especially the family room.)
The window with plastic sparkling snow flakes hanging inside the white lights looks magical. And the assortment of plants I put in front of the window looks good too. So the day isn't a complete disaster, but I'm mid-storm right now, so to speak, able to see sunny skies ahead.
I'm going to have a little something to eat and then a lie down. I've promised dh pizza for dinner since it would be nice for him to not have to cook. The kitchen counters are under the contents of a shelf that was taken down and not yet rehung.
