Don't have much to show for the day.

* one load of laundry
* cooked a great dinner
* good choir practice

That's about it. Minimal progress on the annual report.

Ds fixed my S key but now the P key is iffy. Sigh...

Hello all! I'm just peeking in to say hi. No, I have not cuops.

We got home around 3:40 this afternoon. The driving conditions up north when we left were horrendous, perhaps the worst I've ever driven; fortunately, they were also relatively short-lived. There had been a bit of snow overnight, and the interstate was not clear. There were also a couple local snowstorms with wind; traffic was one lane moving about 40 mph - except when the wind kicked up and I couldn't see more than 10 yards in front of our car. Then, I slowed down to about 25 or slower. . . . :shock: Those moments were a bit nerve-wracking; a couple moments, all I could see was white. . . . After about 1.5 hours of these awful conditions, things cleared up weather-wise and the interstate also became clean and clear. SO thankful that MI drivers (and others too, I know) know how to drive in wintery conditions. Everyone went slowly and kept a safe distance from other cars. I didn't see any reckless driving. --I chose to drive the first leg. Dh worked on his lectures for the week. He and ds split the other half of the driving.

Trip was fun! We got along with our friends. The condo was a little tight for all 11 of us, but it worked out just fine. There was plenty of food. The skiing was fun; there are all levels amongst us. My kids + dfriends' ds12 tried snowboarding the first day. They had a lesson as this was the first time for all but ds18. Unfortunately, dd14 fell and hurt her wrist. It has been a little swollen, but she can still use it. We iced it and gave her Advil as needed. Sunday, we went to a nicer and bigger ski place. The girls switched to skis, but ds snowboarded all morning, just green slopes, and switched to skis in the afternoon. I stuck to green (easiest) slopes. I think I'm regressing in my skiing; I used to be comfortable with blues (intermediate). . . . But I enjoyed the skiing I did. Dh and I went in early Sunday afternoon to work on Hebrew (me) and papers (dh). Unfortunately, dh's vacation was overshadowed by a deadline of 10 a.m. today for 8 papers he and his students were submitting to a conference. He was up until 2 a.m. working on them all 3 nights we were there.

Once home we immediately unpacked the car. I still need to unpack my suitcase. My heb. class was rescheduled for Thursday since the teacher was stuck in bad weather en route home from Chicago. So, no Hebrew class tonight. Since being home, I have:
-taken dd14 to Walgreens to buy a wrist brace to help her with synchro. (and hopefully writing her exams tomorrow + oboe playing. . . )
-taken dd14 to synchro. practice
-picked up Pepper from dfriends'
-went through emails and responded to a couple
-threw together a dinner of leftovers in the freezer, done stovetop b/c our MW is broken
-went with dh, ds, and Pepper to (1) pick up dd14 (2) drop ds off at his dorm (3) gas dh's car (4) home again
-cleaned up the kitchen with the eventual help of dh and the girls

OK, I think that is enough for tonight. I am tired. I am a little sore from skiing - mainly my upper body, believe it or not. I think that is from the times I had to schlep myself cross-country on downhill skis. Also, my right lower leg is sore, as in it feels bruised, from my ski boot, which was very tight. I had a lot of trouble getting my right boot bindings latched. The back of my calf and my shins are sore to the touch. I wonder if I need to have the boot re-sized or something. My legs shouldn't have grown - unless my calves have grown from jogging? But I'm not jogging that much. And I am pretty much the same weight as when I first got my skis. I don't gain or lose weight on my legs, anyway.

Hope to get back to normal life tomorrow. Good night ladies!

Also --
[x] kitchen is clean, except for dgs's bottle sitting in sink
[x] 2nd load of clothes is hanging to dry, 3rd load in washer -- this is 4th load, counting sheets
[x] pictures have been taken of dgs sitting alone... :D

Ivy -- I think I'm going to ask for Seasons 1 & 2 of Downton Abbey for Mother's Day!

Well... I really should try to get those papers graded. It would help start the week off a lot better.
Dgs is * maybe * sleeping now. DS & dh are watching old football films of dh's playing days.

According to my pedometer I've done 18,981 steps today and I know for a fact part of the day it was upside down (and won't work then). I'm barely walking now and I'm heading to bed. Taking tylenol pm before I do though. It was a wonderful day at Epcot with DS-A's family and DD. Spent way too much on food though. DD and I will plan better for the next time we go. Bought dh a 3-day FL resident pass and dd got one for gd. DD and I have annual passes. She and I plan to go to the Magic Kingdom on April 15th for dgdZoe's 2nd birthday. Will only go for 2 or 3 hours in her memory and leave a little memento at Small World.

Last couple of days have been pure joy with dgs6 months. What a contrast between gd here and dsgd13! She regularly would come back to me or hang back and see if I needed help or if I was okay. She's so sweet. Off to bed. Try to cuop tomorrow.

Hello, villagers ~
My day was upside down.
* Rushed around first thing this morning getting ready to be out of the house all day. No water because the shower was still in pieces.
* over 4 hours on-site at the library sorting merchandise, measuring and labeling fabrics
* over 3 hours running errands including shopping for more plumbing parts and a brief stop for a very late lunch
* extreme cold today and will be worse tomorrow
* brought groceries in from the car and put them away
* by then DH was home so I could pass on advice from the plumbing expert at the hardware store
* while he messed with the shower faucet (again!), I cooked supper
* this evening was for 3 Ds and also stamped the library logo on a bunch of labels to use for price stickers

Cross your fingers, DH thinks the shower faucet might possibly be fixed. *\o/* So far it's only a little drip instead of a steady stream. If it stays just that, we can live with it until we're ready to remodel the whole bathroom.

Tomorrow I'll be at the library all day. I was planning to break at lunch and go to a new diner in Tiny Town. However, now I'm thinking I might just pack a sandwich and apple to save time. There's a lot of work still to do before Saturday's event, and somehow only 1 of the other group members is around to help -- and she has a really busy schedule this week so we're grabbing minutes whenever we can.

The dryer is buzzing so I can hang up that load. Then I think I'll start winding things down and try to get to bed by 11.

BookSaver, I am hoping your shower faucet is fixed.

Dh bought 50 ft. of electrical wire on his way home. With input from some electricians at the plant, he knew what to do. I guess I should say, he already knew what to do, but wanted assurance that it was the right thing to do. After he was done, the fan and light both ran on each switch. :o :shock: So after looking at the instuctions for the double switch, he realized there was a tab that needed removed, so that separated them. He did that and it works. So on with the project. Tomorrow night he is going to make sure that the plumbing stuff will work before he gets started on putting up the ceiling and wallboard.

I did not accomplish much today. Tomorrow I need to run errands because I will need to be home on Wednesday from 11 am-3 pm. Fedex will be delivering our shower doors and they will call 30 minutes before they come. It is suppose to be 60 that day and dh is thinking of taking the afternoon off, so that he can get the wallboards cut, while it is nice out.

Hi again everyone! Here is the list I made this morning for after payroll:

Errands after payroll
Buy more yarn - DONE
Recycle printer ink - not done
Buy antenna for XM radio (AGAIN! What do I do to my antennas?) - DONE
Groceries - DONE

When I get home
LOL - DONE
Cook (I am OUT of freezer meals!) - DONE
Christmas cards - not done

My freezer is full now! I have to stop cooking again for a few weeks. I did not get the kitchen cleaned up like I wanted, but I did manage to erase evidence of cooking except for the stuff that won't fit into the first dishwasher load. Now I need to do cat care, wash my hair, then eat a snack while watching a mindless video. Good night all!
