Kathryn is back in her room and has been getting checked and getting settled for about two hours. She is eating a light liquid dinner and is in very good spirits now that the pain killers have kicked in.

Our son returned from his road trip and I met up with him down the street while she was in surgery and we got back to the room (a half-hour before we were "supposed" to be allowed back for visiting hours) to find her awake and aware.

There is a good chance she will be heading home tomorrow.

The surgeons removed an umbilical hernia (I think she now has an innie instead of an outie) as they "hide" one of the three incisions by going through the belly button.

I guess that is all the news. She says "hello" to everyone (and she smiles when she says it).

Probably no other updates this evening ... everything is routine at this point. I'll let you know if anything changes.

We are home for a couple hours. LO is down for a much needed nap. I think he was asleep before his head hit the pillow.

Finding a quiet seat in the corner of the waiting room, I had missed the news earlier that Kathryn had gone to surgery. Yea! I see now that Ken has posted.

This has been a good day but not particularly productive. Dermatologist appt was very quick, then I went to a P ublix up the road about 7 minutes to grocery shop. Loved seeing all the choices there! The smaller grocery close to us really doesn't measure up. Stopped off at a drugstore, then went through a car wash. (even tho it's raining now, it's still cleaner than before.) Got a wonderful pedicure but then dropped a small box on my foot as I came into the house and marred it. (As I told ds, first world problems...)

Tomorrow is another day.

Hello, villagers ~

Lots of driving today for errands but at least it was nice and sunny. Dopey mistake, forgot my list at home, which meant having to use extra brain power to try to remember critical items.

I forgot to buy peanut butter! Not enough left in the jar to wait until the next errand day. That's a priority item so will need to bite the bullet and pay a more at Tiny Town grocery store. Oh well, a little support for a local business. If they would keep their produce department better stocked and not charge almost double for a gallon of milk, I'd go back to shopping there all the time instead of driving to The Big City. (What kind of grocery store runs out of onions and apples on a regular basis? )

Invested in a new mop bucket because DH keeps using the other -- for what I don't know -- and I end up having to search for it. Since I already have a problem with procrastinating when the "mop kitchen floor" card comes up, I decided I'd better eliminate that excuse.

Oh Kathryn, I'm so glad you didn't have to wait any longer for surgery! I hope you are ready to go home tomorrow. Thanks again to Ken for keeping us up-to-date.

Elizabeth ~ The yarn bomb group sounds fun.

Still under the effects of the drugs and in a very good mood. Would love a "your surgery" book to tell me what I can and can't do and what to expect. Normally patients get one at the pre-op but I circumvented all that.

Dd says I'll miss the 'old' belly button. She had hers for only 5 years, not 52 yet still remembers her old one. I told her I inherited that hernia from her since she had hers done 23 years before me.

Had all my broth, almost all my tea and copious amounts of water and ice. The nurse told me to stay away from the rest of the dinner since it would be to acidic so the dh and ds had my jello, juice and gingerale.

Been to the bathroom twice. Not nauseous yet.

Watching the clock because I've remembered it is Thursday night and Big Bang will be on. Since I usually forget, I'm bound to remember tonight and the odds are any repeat from this season hasn't already been seen.

Kathryn, I'm glad you're all out and done now. My girlfriend had her GB out this past year, came home the following day and that evening made dinner for her husband and son! I thought she should have at least "milked" it for one meal, anyway! She claims she feels 100% better than she did. I hope it's the same for you.

Glad it's done, Kathryn! So glad for Ken keeping us updated and delighted to hear from you! You should start feeling lots better now -once past the pain of surgery. Blessings!

DD is about to NC now -probably missing most of the storm. Think another RVer is going to park dd's MH in the morning. DS was going to come tonight but was afraid of it getting buried. BTW, Harmony -we're in good shape as far as flooding goes. Mostly it's the yard and under the park model to some degree. Have a pump going pumping up over our berm about 24/7.

Just remembered I need to type up a new list of meds for the Dr tomorrow and jot down a few questions the nurse wants us to ask. She'll be back on Monday and then will most likely come once a week until dh sees the surgeon at least.

Just finished today's cuop.

Thank you Ken-in-Canada for letting us know about Katherine's surgery and how she is doing. Now sending you prayers for a quick and easy recovery. Hope you will be able to go home tomorrow. I'm sure you will be much more comfortable there.

We had a nice day here, sunny and no rain, but it was hot; sure can tell summer is here!

Cowinkie, mama quail should be having babies hatching soon. It would be neat to see pictures!

I wasn't too busy today. I did the basic daily stuff done early then dh and I went to car insurance office. We had all the information updated, changed some things and we will be saving about $600/year. I was happy with that. To celebrate we stopped at Cheddar's Cafe on the way home for a late lunch.

I talked to ds#3 and dgkids this evening. Tomorrow is their last day of school...only a half-day. They both are very excited. Dgd15 is saving her babysitting money and wants to come here to FL for a visit with us. I hope they can work it out for her to come.
