Wow -- page 4! I'm so far behind I can't even pretend to respond to everyone... but goodness, you are all on my mind today!
Especially (((
Harriet & family))). So many loving thoughts and prayers going up for this dfamily.
Also -- (((BIG HUGS))) for
Twins & dd... and
Kathryn... and I'm sure there are others I missed in a rather hurried cuop.
OKay -- I'm sorry -- but it made me feel a little better to see that you felt you had not been "on your game" since your ddad's passing.
I did not go w/dmom today to have ddad's will probated.

I feel bad about that, b/c dbil seemed to assume I would, but when I talked to dmom yesterday, she said there was no need in it at all, that she would be fine. We've got dgs today & tonight, until after midnight at least, and she knew it was grocery day, etc... plus we were going to see about getting new tires.
That was another wasted effort, b/c apparently M ichelin tires are in a recall across the country, and most of the warehouses our local dealer does business with will not have new ones in stock until at least two weeks from now.
* sigh *
I did manage to call allergy doctor for refill on my shots... and I've got a load of laundry in the washer.
Tried to walk this morning, but the neighbors' crazy dog was loose and I'm a little scared of it.
Tried to call dmom just now and she did not answer.
She has mentioned that when she has her foot surgery, Friday, Aug. the 9th, she is a little uneasy about being 2 hours away from her doctor all weekend "in case I got really sick or something and had to go the emergency room." She has to be back on Monday for a check of the incision, etc, anyway, and she was wondering about staying up there all weekend.

Ooohhh... I just told her I thought that was too much. I could not be *did not want to be* away from home/dh from Thursday until Monday. My goodness. In a hotel w/her hobbling around on 1 foot for 3 extra nights? I will just go crazy. I told her to mention her concerns to the nurse when she called today to confirm the appt. Surely there is no need to stay up there all weekend. If she insists on that, I am going to talk to dbro about timing his visit that weekend. He's been talking about coming up for a visit anyway.
Good gracious.
My grief/depression re: loss of ddad is more of this overwhelming thing that I feel so
responsible for all this
stuff that ddad is (in my mind)
supposed to be taking care of. I know that just sounds so selfish and babyish... but I am just not ready for this. I am not ready for my dmom to need ME so much... I am not ready for my dmom to be alone... and I just feel nervous and overwhelmed.
I want to just enjoy my retirement w/out worrying about dmom all the time...
I want to go back to the way things were at least 2 years ago... before ddad started chemo... before everything went crazy.
Of course, if I went back in time, and froze everything there, then there would be no dgs..... so I don't really want to do that.
I'm just sorta sad and fretful tonight, and I think y'all understand... so I'm going to follow
OKay's example, try to get back into my cards/routines, maybe start keeping a gratitude journal again.
I truly don't mean to be such a downer here, either. I know we all have enough grief and worries to go around... but that is also why I share all this, b/c I know y'all understand.
