OKay, dh's bullet pen is a Space pen. You all know the joke about the space pen, right? NASA needed a pen to write in zero gravity so spent millions of dollars developing the Space Pen to issue to astronauts. The Russian cosmonauts? They were issued pencils!

Dh and I biked to the store for the mail after dinner. I'm really stiff so I did a round of physio while watching tv with ds.

Ds is at work now. It will be a long weekend for him, 8 hours on, 8 off, 16 on, 8 off, 8 on, 15 off, 8 on, then 21 hours off (but he has an eye appointment in the morning so will have to get up and get going.) Then he has 2 days off, one overnight and then another 2 days off so he can go to a weekend cottage party.

He's still in shock from spending all so much money. He only owes me $90 for his credit card debt and we are estimating $1200 for his dental work although he doesn't have to pay me for that until he gets home. So he should be in fine shape for the trip (he needs to show $5K in the bank and a return airline ticket in order to get into Australia.)

Lynlee, he'll be heading up your way at some point during the year so I'll keep you informed. If you know of anyone looking for a day labourer, he's a hard worker and smart. Pretty strong too, even though he's slightly built. He's hoping to start the trip off by doing the Spartan Race in Melbourne. The race in your area is in March and it is so much hotter then, he's really hoping to get do it in Melbourne.

Kathryn - That' is a little bit sad because I suspect it is not only funny, but true about the pen/pencil. I'm excited for your DSon Australia adventure.

I'm trying to decide if I can squeeze in a 8 hour drive tomorrow to watch DGS7 take Tae Kwon Do belt test and still have enough get-up-n-go to make it through the coming week. Next week is going to be stressful with LO starting school, plus 2 lawyer meetings, plus having family stay with us, plus plus plus plus all leading up to following Monday big day. Hum....... I probably shouldn't do it. But I really REALLY want to watch DGS7 tomorrow. I'll sleep on it and make final decision when I wake up in morning.

Sweet Dreams

Okay.... My first dmil's gmother had the ability to stop the flow of human blood by placing her hand over it. It was quite a gift as she lived way out in the country in the hills outside of Knoxville. She too never accepted money. No one quite knew how she could do this. She could also find water like you.

Kathryn ... For years pencils were used by every country when in space because of gravity issues and are still standard issue in the space shuttle and lab. My dad and Wally sharard were room mates in prep school. Later after Wally's trip into space he used to joke to my dad abt the importance of the simple pencil. Seems it was an important tool at their military school too because you never had to worry abt it running out of ink ;-)

Okay does your phone have face time abilities???? If some one at the tournement has an iPhone then they could face time the event to you...... Or perhaps they could make an iPhone video and send it to your phone or face book it to you...... Face time would let you see it in real time without the 8 hour drive.

I love that feature on my phone.....makes me feel so much closer to my son. He can take me any where and show me his world without me leaving home.

Kathryn - this site is great for climate averages around australia.

I'm not sure when he is going - The month of November is appearing in my mind - wondering if I'm making that up. Temperatures in Melbourne can be horrendously desert hot later in summer. Up here its mostly humid heat.

re dousing - My father used be able to do it. He stopped doing it as he wasn't able to see the rock above the water and wells were dug by hand. I guess a bore would have made a difference and made it so much easier.

I love the pencil pen stories. Pencils are still the go here come election voting time for that reason as well - more dependable..
Just begin.
