OKay - Your cowboy brother who had the shoulder problems - how is he now with that? Is he managing anyway as best he can. I know farm folk tend not to whinge.
My dbro had a failed shoulder and surgeon said no to 2nd attempt or to try other shoulder. I guess he is another managing best he can. His heart surgery is next week. He's been busy doing what he can get done ahead of time.

Long day w/dmom, doctor 2 hours away, grocery store @ a snail's pace b/c she is on her walker -- but no problems --
except when I locked everything up tight and left her comfortably sitting on the couch w/her ice pack on her foot...
...
and then...
...
realized I had left my keys lying on the chair beside her.

How stupid. NO WAY to get back in the house except to get her up to open the door. Good gracious.
I now have a spare key to the house. * sheesh *
* whew *
I came home and started doing laundry.
What motivates me? Hmmm... my first impulse at this moment is to say NOT MUCH. I'll think about it and try to come up with a better answer.

Well, I don't know what motivated me, maybe the desperation that eventually results from procrastination... but I FINALLY completed a task that has been OMM (on my mind) since May 25!

I had an external hard drive that belongs to the school newspaper, and I transferred ALL my files (classroom, newspaper, and personal) onto it and brought it home when school was out.
I have FINALLY spent about an hour cleaning it up, transferring my personal files to my computer, and school stuff I just thought I might want to keep, and leaving just the stuff the new paper sponsor needs to have as a reference as she gets started.
I will email the new sponsor and tell her I can bring it to her at her convenience,
relatively speaking. I've got a feeling for the next month or so, my life is going to be much concerned w/dmom's convenience, too. * sigh *
Anyway, that IS a load off my mind now.
Sheets and underwear are in the dryer. Two loads of clothes hanging to dry. Everything is CLEAN except the clothes on our backs.
Nothing is ironed.
Nothing is mended.

I have three buttons that need sewing on (three different items) and a pair of jeans that need an iron-on patch tried as a last-ditch attempt to save my favorite pair.
DH & DS have been gone all evening. DS just called to tell me they were on their way home. Maybe there will be sheets on the bed by the time DH gets home, LOL. He's not going to want to sleep on the floor after driving two hours, LOL...

Lucylee - Obviously - caring for your family motivates you. You put a lot of effort into that.

Wow 4 of us here at this late hour. I fell asleep on the couch and now up getting ready for bed.
Sunny, that is about the amount of stuff I did last year after Christmas - actually after I had taxes done Feb or March. Once I had that all done, I spent time catching up the house, doing stuff that I neglected all year. I spent lots of time cleaning, reorganizing my walk in bedroom closet, every cabinet in the bathrooms and kitchen, the dining room china hutch, LR fans, hallway closet, office closet ... and then I began to fizzle and didn't know why... though I know now why... so thanks for the reminder as I figured out the timing of my recent "illness".
Good luck with it all. Your house will be so spotless and organized and you will be so pleased with the results!
Lynlee, I am sorry about your ongoing injuries. DH has similar. Both shoulders damaged, the left one has been operated on twice, both failed operations because they're too far gone. He can't do work above chest level. Tonight he threw a light afghan from couch onto love seat, used both arms and herculean effort and managed to get it lopped over - yay! he says I did it...he has no ability to reach out more than an inch or two in front of himself.
But still he keeps going, with helper he's able...and my help around the house. I can just imagine how hard it is for you. He has no pain with his arms/shoulders though. Just his hip, there's the pain. Lots of bed time. Can't imagine him trying yoga!
Alright, I'm off to bed.

ANOTHER ta-da!
Council minutes have been e-mailed to church secretary.
I am exhausted, hearing about all
Sunny's work plans... but you definitely have the right idea,
Sunny. Glad to see that ALL your "projects" aren't so involved as * restore vintage automobile * build addition to house * start a soup kitchen... * LOL
Now that school has started, I would like to get back on track -- or rather, just ON track -- with the zones and focus cleaning... but I do not know how I can get much accomplished in the next two weeks, w/dmom plus our 4-day trip coming up next week. Of course, I always have an excuse, don't I?
Lynlee and
Mr. Harmony... goodness... just (((BIG HUGS))) for both of you! And for you, (((
Harmony))). Besides your own health problems, you've got the stress of a man who is struggling physically, too. Sending some of those same thoughts and (((HUGS))) to
Mr. & Mrs. Dee!!!
You aren't just "jabbering,"
helia!!! LOL!!! I am always just totally amazed at all you accomplish in a day.
Waving to
ALL!!!
