LOL Cowinkie - No, you are definitely not mean!!
Wondering how K&K will survive their time here? I am confident they will come through OKay....maybe a little shell shocked though.....said with a small pun since we have live artillery missiles firing frequently.... BOOM! BOOM! is frequently our background noise so often I don't even hear them. I have no problem inviting friends into my home without it being company ready. It appears my time this week is being directed toward all kinds of directions other than cleaning our home.....so K&K will probably find it being in worst shape than normal. So - I consider this an opportunity to make everyone else look good during any future visit by SHE friends. You can do it with great confidence because you will all have the knowledge that AT LEAST YOUR HOME ISN'T AS MESSY AS MINE.
LO has successfully kept crackers & 1/2 cup ice cream down. YES!! This is the most he has kept down since Friday.
Cards from first timeslot of the day are done. I am feeling energized by these small successes and ready to finally start Moving Ahead. Moving on to next group of cards.

Hi again. I am about to leave 'payroll' (quotes because I only got 8 hours last month). I just sent my phone number to Kathryn. My plan is to get yarn fast, then head home and start that job search task! I wish I could get to this site from home, it would keep me accountable.

Oh Yeah! Mr. Guy and I are ready to go to AZ! Mr. Guy and Sweetie spent awhile this afternoon chatting and making plans. Car shows, no doubt, is their most important fun thing to do. I like it too, but I have a hard time walking around too much.
Today we spent a lot of time at the Verizon store getting my new iPhone. It is the latest one out - the 5C. WoW! For so long I have had only the TracFone that I buy minutes for. It was OK and had good audio - better than Mr. Guy's Droid Razer, but if there was an emergency I would be Toast. It takes forever to boot up and I don't like that.
I had plans for today, but they will wait until tomorrow. One good thing is I have no appts. this week, but Mr. Guy has two. Our last week here will be busy busy.

Just a long and extremely unproductive day here. I have another filling booked on Thursday and I'm hanging out with my dd on Wednesday. We will be celebrating her birthday, which is tomorrow.
Tomorrow is a stay-at-home day.

Booked the hotel at the airport and then the hotel for before the cruise in January. Also decided to do a rental car from Santa Fe to Albuquerque, instead of taking the train on the Friday. That way we don't have to wrestle luggage on and off the train and can explore a bit if we want.
Still have to get the Australian Visa and book our flights home from there (and a place to stay in Wellington, NZ after the cruise.) I'm putting that off as long as possible because it means spending big bucks again.
On the plus side, our flights from Auckland to Wellington are paid for by the company. And our place to stay while there.

OH MY WORD, IT IS SOOO FRUSTRATING TO LOSE A LONG POST!!!
GRRRRRRRRR….
I’ve forgotten what I was even saying. * sheesh *
It wasn’t all that important, I guess.
Thank you,
Ivy &
Okay for the encouraging words re: my attempt to balance exercise and time for others. I do make time for those who will walk with me, I guess, LOL!
I know I do not spend enough time w/dmom… but I called her this afternoon and she didn’t answer and hasn’t called back yet.
I called dmil, and told her dgs and I would not be coming over, unless she needed something – which she said she didn’t. I told her since we were just over there yesterday w/dgs, I thought we’d stay in today.
I did take him to visit neighbors down the road, and he just had a screaming, crying fit when we first got there. He curled up in my lap and cried and cried, but I just kept holding him and talking to them normally, and finally he got brave enough to get down and explore a little bit.
He has these “stranger fits” at the nursing home sometimes, but not always. It’s very random.
I also managed to put a load of clothes in the washer and make hotel reservations for dh, ds, & ddil. They are going to a ballgame next week and leaving dgs with me again. I don’t mind; I’m glad ddil can go for ds’s sake, and glad ds can go for ddil’s sake. I get enough football.
It was quite a chore to make those reservations and we paid waaay too much for them, but dh will be happy, I guess.

Lucylee: Do you have AAA? I get some good deals with my card from time to time. Like Jan 4 & 5, there was a promotion so I got $20 off per night (so that pays for the parking, since it is a downtown hotel!)
Just realized, I'll need a rental car for Long Beach. Hope I can get free drop-off from someone. We picked a hotel near the port so the taxi would be cheap but I still need to get from LAX to the hotel. I'm excited to be going back to Long Beach, we haven't been there for 4 years or so. I know I was there the year dd was married, and I'm pretty sure I've been back since then.

Grrrrrrr......LO didn't keep his 3rd dose of antibodies down. He was so disappointed. He was hoping to be able to go to school tomorrow, but it looks like he will need another 24 hours of down time. It will be okay. Just a minor bump in his road to recovery.

Kathryn - I just read your post about going to New Zealand. My DH is going to New Zealand for 11 days, leaving on Nov. 10, Sunday. He is traveling with a tour group of our friends, led by a guide on adventures throughout NZ. They are flying non-stop from San Francisco to Auckland, staying 2 days, and then visiting Rotorua, then Queenstown, then Milford Sound, then back to Auckland to return to SFO.
Have you been there before? Any tips on the sights?

Kathryn, we do have AAA, but I just went ahead and made the resv online, and there was no place to request the discount. On ballgame weekends, a lot of places require a two night minimum stay, and dh doesn't want that, so I just went on with it, this seemed like the best of the bad choices. * sigh * You can't plan ahead, b/c they don't announce game time until two weeks before. If it is a night game, dh and I just want to drive down and come back home. But morning games, we want to stay the night before. When dniece graduates, maybe we can have our half of the condo back!
