Hi everyone! My timeline from yesterday got quite a bit of modification. For one thing, by the time I got out of bed and showered, it was 1:30. I could have used Harriet's shout out at 10:00! From 130 to 250, I worked on job search stuff, activating 4 job agents and uploading 2 resumes. However, there was nothing really suitable that I found. I have figured out the job search activities to do tomorrow (hopefully earlier!). As soon as I finish posting, I will print coupons for Michaels and Hobby Lobby, then run errands. Errands today are: groceries (can put if off no longer) and find a 16x20 picture frame for DD11's dragon painting. I intend to check at Goodwill too. Dinner will be at church along with Bible study. After that I will work on commission crochet with the Doctor.

I would like to put off the errands till after church, but it is windy and snowing out there. I want to move in with Harmony and DeeClutter.

I still need to check my email and voice mail and obtain and upload some documents.

Harriet: Do the washer and dryer really need to match? If they are behind laundry room doors, who will know. That being said, when I was a student, I had half size W/D that was part of my BEDROOM FURNITURE! At laundry time, I would wheel the washer into the kitchen and hook it up to the sink. The dryer vented out my bedroom window! FWIW they did match, but the key feature was that they were PAID FOR.

helia: Maia sounds like Panther (6 month old foster kitten, all black). He thinks that the only reason I could possibly wield a broom or mop is to give him a ride!

Harriet I did not want a new top load washer dd said there is a known issue with them. Mine do not match but I wish they did!

I have been knitting up blue verigated yarn today that has been fun.

Coldest in 5 yrs. North of us, hens are still doing fine.

Our old TV in the great room has been on the "fritz" for a couple of years, dying, and taking forever to wake UP, to view on it again. I walked to DH last night, he spent a restless night's sleep, thinking about the TV, if we should get a new one, etc... He awoke with a decision, to buy a new 1. It'll come Wed. the 12th. So he's been disconnecting everything, cleaning, saving the Wii stuff for grsons, to use later, if/when they'll want it, and he's stored everything into the storage closet, which I'm "supposed" to be cleaning because it's closets FOCUS week! Oh, off to a different 1, I guess.

I woke at 6:15 a.m., freezing in bed. I managed to roll into a ball, cover up, and fall asleep, but had a bad dream about my old eye specialist and their clinic, so am tired today. The weather's about 34* with a very gusty wind, so the wind chill is colder.

I got a letter from a woman, with my maiden name's last name. I'll answer her. I'm delighted! I had a student at H. S. by the very same name, but she's not the same one.

I need to rush. My left thumb's on the bum, hurt it somehow, at the lower joint, but outdoors is sunny, beautiful, and we're warm indoors. There's so much PWYC Wed. news here, I can't possibly catch up on all of it, but Sadie, the year I had rotator cuff surgery and 11 months of PT, well... It broke the bank for us! We had good insurance, but still, costs rise up and it's so hard on a couple's pocket book. I heard on the National news, on a report about hospitals and healthcare, how MANY hospitals will negotiate with a patient, as insurance companies do, too. I hope this will be an option for you, too.

Also, Nancy, the parade IS awesome, what little of it we saw, while DH was taking the old TV to the entry hall, etc... We saw bits and pieces of it on the bedroom TV. DH said, "Boy! They sure are loud!" Everyone's cheering wildly from our excitement!

Bless you, Kathryn, for all your posts updating us here at home. You're an absolute doll! It's very nice of you to keep in contact with us.

I'm back from my errands. Groceries successfully obtained, picture frame not. I decided not to go 'down the hill' for the frame. With this snow, I want to be sure I can get UP the hill! Church does not involve hills, so that should be fine. Errands took less time than I thought, so I cleaned a car window that was bugging me and unclogged a bathroom sink drain. The latter was surprisingly easy. I am off to check email and voice mail.

I had planned to clean house today and then I realized that I am trying to come down with a cold. So I decided to concentrate on laundry and ironing. Then hopefully tomorrow I can clean. I am hoping that I can head this cold off. With the diabetes, a cold just really knocks the wind out of my sails and I am not worth much.

Harriet, thanks for the Glucerna info - yesterday mother had asked me to stop off at CVS to get some but I demurred because dbro had said he was making a grocery store run and also going to CVS later. Her A1C had actually gotten too low but OTOH we don't need it going sky high. She says the Ensure fills her up so she doesn't need the other meals. Also, I wanted to get the glucose test strips to see where her BS actually is....

DH is assembling the TV stand himself, so I'm staying out of his way. Good idea! He asked for my help only once. It would cost $169 for the delivery men to assemble it, so DH decided to do it himself. The radio's quietly playing our local FM music station, which is relaxing. Even the cat's taken over the recliner and seems drowsy.

The radio said Thurs. the 6th will be 32* for a high and 13* for a low or in single digits for outlying areas. I guess it's back to p. j.'s for me tonight again, because my ankle-length fleece nightgown wasn't keeping me warm last night.

Nancy, it's very good how you can share info back and forth with Twins' on things like Glucerna, etc... I like that about the Village here; we help one another and it's really nice.

My thumb joint's not any better, even with a rest, so will sign off now, after searching here a bit at other threads.

I really appreciate the info here, too, and am trying diligently to convince dmom to seek out the D-Manose and give it a try before going the surgery route. Of course, I guess part of her problem is discomfort, as well, (dropping bladder puts pressure on other things, like her back, etc.) but solving the infection problem would be a huge plus.

I have not talked to her today. Giving myself a day off. As dh says, phone lines DO work both ways, and I CAN receive calls as well as place them.

I have earned computer time again! TA-DA -- TWO DAYS IN A ROW! Actually, I might be cheating a bit, b/c if I really earned my time, I have to count 30 minutes vacuuming as my exercise. But I know I spent 15 minutes dusting (Weekly/Daily Chore) and at least 15 minutes in my closet (Focus) plus 30 minutes vacuuming. I have a nice pile of stuff to take to the thrift store. And may find some more tonight.

It is REALLY hard for me to declutter clothing. I don't buy a lot of clothes, and I tend to wear things I like until they are practically threadbare. In Aug. 2011 -- 2.5 years ago -- I turned all my hangers backwards and started turning them back as I wore things. So today, I tried to discard all the things that had obviously not been worn in 2.5 years. Simple task, right? Wrong. After culling what I KNEW I would not wear again, asking myself, "Would I buy this if it were on sale for $5 @ Wmart... or half price @ Belk?" -- I STILL have 20 tops, 16 dresses/skirt outfits, and 1 pair of capri pants that I don't feel "comfortable" tossing. This is insane. I have not worn these things since before dgs was born!!! What is WRONG with me??? Maybe I will take these things to the guest room closet and "hide" them from myself for a while. It's easier to part with things from that closet, LOL.

Maybe I will take a break and catch up on Downton Abbey.

I echo what Harriet said about Ensure vs Glucerna and half a bottle of it. For example one hamburger bun has 20 carbs ensure has 40 carbs. They said to have between 30 - 40 carbs per meal for me.

H. Is having some chicken soup not sure what I am having yet.
