Hi to sherinjoy!

Twins' Mom, I'm impressed with you today. It's cold out there, but you are doing a lot of work filling a dumpster. I was miserable just doing the regular outdoor chores this evening. Good job getting that picked up before the weather gets much worse, and getting the responsibility off your shoulders.

Today I completed Desk Day for my parents' household and even got a birthday card into the mail early in case we happen to get shut in. Don't think so, though. Even though my dd34 had snow falling outside her office window by lunch, we will not get our bad weather until tomorrow. Dailies done well. Got the hens' water and food indoors for them, also just in case it became difficult to make it out to them.

I have salmon in the oven now. Had made brownies earlier. An odd combination.

Have some more folding to do and that will be the night.

Just saw an article - 7 out of 15 athletes on the Olympics ice skating team train near here. 3 of them graduated from our kids' high school, including Bates and the brother sister pair. Bates actually grew up here but the brother sister pair moved here in high school. I think the entire ice dancing team trains in this area. 5 of the skating team are or were students at UMich. I had no idea we were contributing so strongly to the games this year. I hope they do well!

I'm tickled NL is doing well at the speed skating. That is a sport in which they do excel. They probably will not get medals in any other winter sport.

I remember the swimmer Michael Phelps was also a UMich student for a while and also trained in town before his first Olympics. . . He didn't finish his schooling here, though. . .

Phooey -- just lost a long post with comments to all. Usually I copy & paste to an email before hitting submit to avoid that kind of frustration, but hit something while I was still typing & couldn't get back to that window.

So, I will post only the most important part of my post:
Happy Birthday, MT! :) I hope you feel much better & were able to enjoy your day.

Sweet dreams, everyone.

It's 8:40 p.m. here and it's 45*, the snow's rained away, and I've been under the weather today. :(
I had a nap, sorted mail with DH, got 3 letters and 1 magazine, and 1 card.
I worked on my story awhile, need to do more, but honestly, I've overdone it this afternoon-evening and need a break.
am not 100%, so don't want it to "show" in my story either.
We called dgrson-5 to wish him a Happy Birthday tonight. We'd gotten him a killer whale hat and money. All he could talk about is how his Dmom's going to buy him an alarm clock so he can go to school. He wasn't overly "excited" about our cute hat at ALL- but it was alarm clock this & alarm clock that!  Just too funny. ;)

Last night, I did check out how Emptynester had a b-day the same day as our dgrson though. I've not been here today, until now, but wanted to sign in to say:

:D HAPPY BIRTHDAY, EMPTYNESTER, AND MANY HAPPY ONES MORE, TOO! :D

Take care, Everyone. Have a TERRIFIC TUESDAY tomorrow! Hope I'll feel 100% by then, too. :)

Good morning everyone! I have not gotten nearly as much done as I should. I did well at art class - started a new white on black study of my black foster kitten, art teacher framed DD11's birthday present, and she tried on the crocheted jacket. What I have done fits, but I am going to make a sleeve modification. Then I had lunch and read some. I have 8 books out from the library and 2 more on reserve! Better get cracking! Goofed off too much in afternoon. A friend won a happy hour and I went to that. Just had iced tea, but lots of conversation with friends. Cancer has returned for one, not good. After that I ran many errands, then came home to do job hunt stuff. One place wants transcripts for all degrees. I had one from Univ of Texas, but not for Auburn, so I have ordered the latter.

Tomorrow (actually later today), I must call DD's school about volunteering. It will also be Girls' Night Out and I will probably have to endure constant "What's my birthday present?"

I have fed cats, but still need to do catboxes.

Happy Birthday to Emptynester!!! And I hope you get to feeling better soon, too.
