I s2s, did 1 lol, had DH massage Ben Gay into my sore back from stacking wood. I know I only did 12-13 minutes, but it's hard work. The Ben Gay is working well.

Got my story finished & sent. It's for Sept. or Oct., either month. Now I reward myself by writing letters. I owe 3 & want to write DD again. Got the dawn simulator set, will have a light dinner, the gastritis symptoms are finally (right now!) settling down. I'm Very Happy about that. It's odd that in May of 2013 the same thing happened to me & it's happening now, too. I wonder if there is a "connection" with this month in the year, due to allergies outdoors, getting ready to have grandsons in the summer or what. I'm dumbfounded. They say stress causes it, too. I believe that & the wrong types of foods & caffeine can cause it, but the ONE thing, which causes it- which I have no control over- is aging.

It'll be in the mid-80's for Thursday. Oh, I need to pick a display card for my office, for Thursday. Let's see here.... what will Ivy pick? I had my choice between: "Thoughtful Thursday," OR "Thriving Thursday." I chose Thriving Thursday. I have it on a lavender index card with a smiley woman drawn in the middle top & a red butterfly's on the right upper corner with a red rose in the upper left corner. I need to change my desk kitty cat calendar, too.

Also, I need to hang up DH's laundry, which is laying flat across the back of the sectional sofa, & write a "to do" list for tomorrow & maybe Friday, too.

Helia, What color is your new kitchen rug?

Harriet, That's too bad about your second cousin & his truck-farms, greenhouse, etc... I wonder what's happened.

(((Harmony))), Good help is hard to find, trustworthy help is, too, & honesty in employees sometimes just isn't in their genes.

(((Kathryn))), I'm glad the septic was discovered before a sale & your move. It couldn't been a disaster if the new owners weren't good-natured & understanding that these "things happen." Sorry, nevertheless that it's happening to you & Ken.

(((Sadie))), So sorry about DS18. Will say prayers for him, too. Hang in there. You seem like a very strong woman, after what you went through with surgery, PT, etc.. ♥

I need new mats for our main door - both inside and outside, but those might need to be a different sort of thing since their purpose is to help keep dirt off our wood floors.

Dh just got home - but he is on the phone.

Kitchen is clean and dw is running. Dd15 cleaned up her room pretty well tonight; I'm going to go in and do some detail work. I'll change sheets tomorrow. Ds still needs to sleep there tonight. I think I'm going to go do an exercise video first.

Um, I think the specific rug didn't show up. I ordered the mohawk yellow springs patchwork. I like bright things; we very informally have red as an accent color in our house, so I usually try to get rugs/place pillows, etc. with red in them. However, if you walked in our house, I think you would never know there was any concept of any accent color. . . .LOL! I asked dd15 about a floral one, and she said it didn't really go with our house. True. . . I'm not really a floral kind of girl, and our house has no florals. Our other area rugs are Persian, though the big one in the living room is a cheap one, not wool. We figured with small children (when we bought it) and a dog, etc., we would wait to invest in a real quality rug for that room.

Finished the service bulletin, then went for a walk and brought in the laundry.

Had dinner, tidied up.

Had a chat with the buyers. They've decided they want us to put in a new septic system rather than buy at a reduced price. Not totally a big deal except for the price to do that ($15 - 30K estimate) and that they get a new septic system (and new water furnace and new roof and new well and.....) They keep arguing that their guy says our system is shot. I keep coming back to there is no sign above ground or in the house that there is a problem.

We've agreed to pay for a second opinion and get a quote. We won't proceed until they clear their final condition (their house sale.) Apparently they didn't put in the new septic system at their old place, they made the previous owners put one in.

The home inspection showed 30 year-old house issue - the deck needs fixing, the copper pipes have corrosion on the outside, there was a minor electrical issue. They are willing to overlook all that if the septic is replaced.

Our current plan is to look into how to repair this as cheaply as possible and then offer them a repaired system or the money we would spend on repairing and they can go ahead and have the system replaced with whatever they want.

Thanks for the notes, Harmony & Ivy. If I stop to think about it, I don't feel 100% -- so today I just haven't stopped to think about it!

I had an unexpected meeting this morning for the sewing group. Had to run out of the house with wet hair. Thankfully I had 3 curlers in my car to put in my bangs until I got to the meeting, and it was a 30 minute drive to get there. Just had to ignore the rest of my hair, no time to do anything but run a comb through it.

At 1 pm I went to the library, planning to reorganize LEGO pieces for no more than 2 hours. As soon as I walked through the door, the library director asked if I could help with 3 other small projects that had a deadline of 4 pm today. Then she also asked if I would supervise a student doing community service, and let the student help me sort the LEGO. I was happy to help, but the student didn't come until 3:45. Between all those projects, I didn't get home until 6.

I really had not planned to be at the library for 5 hours, so I had nothing arranged for supper. Luckily DH was not very hungry and he agreed to chef salads.

Tomorrow I really want to stay home. I am volunteered out!

BookSaver, no you don't sound very sick! You certainly got a lot done, so you must not have thought about it much.

Kathryn, it does seem this is dragging on and on and some of it is nitpicking. I guess that's to be expected, but it's bound to be frustrating.

helia, I like that one. The blue and yellow are attractive together. It wasn't that you missed conversations here. lucylee had posted a question she called "survey says" in Basic Weekly Plan forum below, about how many hours per week cleaning takes. I finally saw it yesterday, though it had been up a while.

In theory the carpet I bought will arrive at local store tomorrow.

Visited my colorist. The same Herbashine. Have a few more left of these. Hope when I run out of this there will still be more somewhere out there on the net.

Harriet I don't know how sales work in the US but here some dragging is to be expected. We have a long weekend coming up so no-one works Monday and that will slow things down further.

We got the offer May 6. They had until May 20 (Tuesday since Monday is a holiday) to clear the septic/home/water inspection. I did the water inspection and have the clear reading although they have requested to pay for their own inspection (which seems weird but no problem.) They paid for their septic and house inspections. And we've asked for a copy of the their septic report to show our second opinion which they've agreed to do.

Since no-one will work Sat/Sun/Mon so it isn't as if anything can be done between tomorrow and Tuesday. Even our buyers are going away for the weekend. So nothing will happen with their house selling either.

They have until June 6 to clear the condition on selling their home. So nothing can happen until after that date as far as fully replacing the system.

So yes, things will drag on. I can't show the house much after June 1 since we'll be in full packing mode by then. I have four services to write and deliver between now and moving day and then one less than two weeks after moving day (although I can grab a reading for that Sunday, I don't have to write everything myself.)

I'm getting stressed and need to figure out a way to relax. Yesterday was good since I was physically away from here.

Another stress is picking a waterbed mattress. No place seems to sell them here in person so we need to figure out what we have. I thought it was semi-waveless but apparently we bought one that was motionless and has lumbar support (who knew, just googled the mattress model, which thankfully I can still read on the tag over the fill cap.)

This one is about 10 years old so rather than drain and refill and risk a leak from a puncture of the vinyl in all the shifting around, we'll just order a new one. They've gone up in price and I have to order online so it is a gamble. Will get a new heater at the same time.

Wow, Kathryn, I'm sorry that septic is so expensive to fix. When they say the septic is "shot" I would want to know exactly which part of the system is no good. Perhaps you just need a new leach field. Or maybe just a new tank. 2nd opinion is a good idea. I guess they just don't want to move in and have to do any of the work themselves.

The day didn't get much easier. DH went to youth group and when he came home I had him sit with me and go over a huge pile of papers. I wasn't convinced he'd ordered the right stuff today, but apparently he did. I feel a little better now that I have that stuff all organized. It bothers my brain when I don't have a good handle on what's going on around here.

Tomorrow will be busy. Dr. apt with DH, probably the last one with his hip dr. Middle of the day trip about an hour north to veterans cemetery for little service. Some time spent at county offices too. I hope I'm up to all this.

Oh, helia, I like the colors in the rug you picked. I have some red around here too. But I like flowers also!

Oh my -- I just realized something -- yesterday (Tues) was the anniversary of ddad's funeral! Maybe that was what set dmom off. --sigh--
I know she does feel terrible (mostly w/Chron's, but back pain is a big problem, too.) maybe after she has colonoscopy next week she can start getting some relief on that point at least.
Church is just a problem. It's kinda like her church left her while she was in Houston. Preacher left and started new church... Services became more contemporary... And she feels kinda neglected by her Sunday School class, I think. So she is real ambivalent about the whole thing. She would probably just hang it all up and start going to the old preacher's new church -- but she hates to do that. Her family was part of the founding members of the old church. So she's just really unhappy with the whole situation.
