Was just talking with dd, Sunny, and we both agree that this is definitely GD15's final opportunity and chance to make something out of her life before she becomes an adult. Hoping mightily that she realizes that and uses it for such. DD said she hasn't heard anything yet that they have actually left for GA, but new family said they'd text her when they were leaving. She and dsonil are finally able to spend some quality time together without being so tense over what's happening with gd or afraid of getting a call, etc. They told other family they'd give them X$ a month (and of course they don't want anything) but dd/dsil feel it's the least they can do. No different than paying child support. They had that with his dd until she 18 and that was even a larger chunk every month. In fact, as I type, dsonil is having a phone interview with head of a company in GA/SC who have been rather courting him to come work for them. They're seriously considering it, depending on what happens with this interview.

I'm a broken record. Still haven't showered.

Another thing that kept me busy the last 2 weeks is watching the many shows that I have DVRd. I started having problems with the box. I could watch the shows that I had recorded, but I couldn't watch or record shows. The only channel I could get was 2, which is the weather channel. I knew that I had to watch all the shows I wanted to watch because I was going to lose them. Once I finished watching all I wanted to watch, I called the cable provider. She kept telling me what to do. I would do it but it wouldn't come out the way she wanted. Finally she got mad at me and asked me if there was someone else she could talk to. I told her that my husband was at work. I also told her I wasn't the idiot she was making me out to be. Clearly there is something wrong with my cable box or it would have responded the way she wanted it to. So I finally told her never mind. I was so upset, she made me feel like I was a senile old lady. Luckily my dds and dh all say that I do not sound old. So I ended up calling again. This gal could see that I had called but she told me she could not work with me because I was not listed on the account. I told her that when we moved to this house 2 1/2 years ago, we went thru the process of putting me on the account when I could not move our service. They even got dh on his cell and we had a 3 way call, but evidently that was as far as it went. But she ended up working with me since the other gal had already helped? me. She had me unplug everything and she did all this computer stuff like the other gal did. It still didn't work, so she came to the conclusion that I had already drawn, the box is toast. So with dh in tow, I need to take it to the local cable store and get another. We have 2 boxes, 1 with DVR and 1 without. I noticed that we pay the same with or without the recording capability, so I asked if we could exchange the one without the DVR for one with it. The answer was yes. While we are there, she said dh can put me on the account. For 39.99 a month we could get a box that can record 6 shows at once and can be watched at any TV in the home. Plus it holds 1000 shows. No thanks, after trying to get the shows watched like I did last week, I learned that I shouldn't let them add up. I had 6-8 episodes of 3 different series.

Dgd4 has been acting really bratty. She just won't quit, when she starts acting bratty. Dd2 is paying $250.00 a week, every week all summer to the daycare and they are doing nothing to earn it. I told her that she needs to take dgd4 to daycare and keep dgd3 home for 1 day, to make a point. She won't do it because it isn't fair (are you kidding me?) to the daycare and she doesn't want dgd4 to think of it as punishment, since she has to go during the school year. Alrighty then, she did not take my advice and I make it a habit to never repeat a suggestion that she doesn't agree with. Why waste my breath?

Dd2 is getting antsy that the house hasn't sold. Hopefully she will remember this if she gets a wild hair to move again.

I absolutely have to take a shower because dh might surprise me and come home early, so we can do the cable box exchange. Or the sales rep could show up to collect his $$$$$$. Both scenarios would have me kicking myself for being so lazy. So without further ado, I will iron clothes to wear and shower.......................

While LO is napping I planted everything. I had more plants than I thought.....I have such a hard time stopping when I'm at a plant store. ANYway - 44 new herb and flower plants are now in the garden.

Yug. The garden looks horribly beat up from the storms. The ground underneath the tomato & pepper plants is covered with leaves and produce where they fell when the hail broke them. The large leaf plants (pumpkin, watermelon, etc) are jumbled up mess ....the vines flipped over and broken. There isn't much I can do except wait and see if the plants will recover. Sometimes I dream of gardening without fighting moles/gophers, storms, grasshoppers and drought.......but it would probably be so easy I would get bored.

Hello Dear Ladies,

Looks like everyone is very busy today.

Didn't go to PT today, it would have been my last one anyway. But DH needed to do some things and don't want to drive there without him so stayed home. It's ok, I can do just about everything at home that is done at PT.
So did PT at home. See little bits of progress. It's going to be a while.
Paid some bills that came in for Dson-18. He goes for his heart ultra-sound in two weeks.

Made macaroni salad. Think I'll grill burgers to go with that.

Working on laundry.

Not sure I'm going to make it to Hebrew class. I'd need to leave in 25 minutes. I still need to:
- spot clean bathroom mirror
- vacuum of living room rug
- put clean sheets on guest bed
- set up aerobed w/ clean sheets too. . .

I have:
- gone to the groc. store
- put everything away
- started a load of sheets and towels
- picked up the girls from school
- made the chicken chili
- cornbread is in the oven
- cleaned the kitchen
- I am running the dw. After I cleaned up the kitchen, it was full.

I'm still working on those files, the 1st Rubbermaid file box. I keep finding poetry to submit to the contest and for greeting cards, so slowly submit them, as I go along. This is going to be a much longer job than merely 1 hour. I found a newspaper article about a horse, several years ago, which I've always desired to make into my own short story, using my childhood/teenage-years horse as my "character". I'm going to work on it one of these days, too.

After the Rubbermaid box is done, there's a plastic file container with handles, DD gave me, to go through. Not only that, but I tucked a gob of writing into a long low bin, here at the left of my feet, at my desk, beneath my desk to sort. I also have 5 lined baskets and a plastic mesh-like bin to sort papers, writings, poems, ideas from. The good thing is how I'm finding writing ideas to submit, which is fun. They are really old things, which I modernize, as I've matured several years or decades, since writing some items the first thing.

I need to run. DH is making a mail run 1/4-mile up to the locked community mailboxes. I need to sort mail, read it, and get it organized before I go any further. DH and I decided it's my allergies acting up and not a "bug" from the Dr. office. I'm glad I have a med for allergies, too.

Waving hello to Everyone! My movin' on Monday consists of going to file, file, then submit things on my laptop, and back to filing.

Ta da, don't look now but I am finally presentable to the world.

Hi Sadie! Are you getting any rain? I love macaroni salad. It always tastes great with grilled burgers. One of these days you will be telling us that you are able to tie your apron. Then we can all celebrate that milestone.

Dd1 came by to get my key to her house, so she could go have some more made. The first place she went to, the machine is broke and they have no idea when it will be fixed again. That place had all kinds of decorative keys. They work so nice when you have keys to more than one home, because I have keys to both dds homes. So she is still out looking for someone that has the various decorative keys. So I will know where to go so I can get extra keys made for the girls.

My dh is always looking at homes in the Ozarks, either Missouri or Arkansas. I know for a fact that I have never wanted to live there. He will find a really nice home that we could pay cash for after the sale of our house with lots leftover and then try to tempt me. Here are the facts, I don't want to live away from my kids and grandkids. I don't want to have to visit them for any length of time and I don't want them visiting me for any length of time. It just works out better to see the more often but be able to go home. If I did move away and something happened to dh, I would need to move back here. If something happens to me first, he will be out of here as soon as possible. This I know in my heart of hearts.

It has rained continually today. Nice and steady. Since last night there is 1 1/2 inches in the rain gauge. Normally we get torrential rains that last about 20 minutes with a lot of run-off, then it's over. This has been so welcome.

Okay, you mentioned the price of meat going up and how high steak is. I hate to pay those prices for steak but I will not order one in a restaurant. My dh fixes great steak on the charcoal grill, so I grin and bear it, when buying steak. I buy mine from Sam's because they have the thickest steaks. We get several meals out of a package. Today they were saying the high prices will hit by fall. Gulp, gulp, do they really mean higher than now? Yesterday dh smoked salmon on his pellet grill. I am not crazy about salmon but it was good. Dh said it does not heat up well, so will need to be eaten cold. No thanks, he can eat my share and his.

No surprise, the ballgame tonight is cancelled.

Tomorrow I need to run so many errands that I need to make my list tonight. Then I will need to shower early and hit it.

Hi everyone! I did get up and MOVING this morning. Last night the kitten's eye looked bad and I got up prepared to make yet another vet trip (would be 5th in 8 days). The eye looked better, not good, but better. I decided to keep watching it. Moving along on the job hunt: I have checked 10 companies, found no suitable openings, but uploaded 4 résumés for their future consideration.

Last night, I bought myself a birthday present. I have a wonderful friend who is organizing a party for me Saturday, but because I manage to be civil to the X and the other woman, she thought that meant it was ok to INVITE THEM!!! I am surprised they actually accepted the invitation, I would think they would claim prior commitments, whether they existed or not, and now I am STUCK with them. Their is no way to un-invite them with class. The CD I have bought (Social Distortion's Greatest Hits) has what I consider their theme song. Check out these lyrics:

I'm leavin' you FAR BEHIND!
Stop wastin' all my time!
With friends like you, who needs enemies?
You ain't right, you ain't never gonna be!
Your soul is toxic and you ain't no friend of mine!

The rest of the song goes on in the same vein. I intend to play it LOUD at my party (along with other CDs that my country fan X is sure to appreciate, NOT). Bring on the metal! I won't be so obvious as to put that song on when they walk in the door (tempting), and I have been fans of this band for decades, so it won't be an obvious connection, but it will sure make me smile.

Now, I need to make sure my car keeps moving. It is getting an oil change after I check on the kitten and clear some junk out of it (the car not the kitten). While waiting on the car, I will do some studying for an assessment for a recruiter. Then, I think library. Kitten socialization involves a lot of sitting and reading, so I am totally out of books.

Thank you to everyone who has been sending me encouragement or even just thinking about me in the situation with my x in-laws.

We'll just keep 'encouraging' away, Elizabeth.

In honor of Movin' Monday I've been moving my body more outside. Walked around the smaller loop and then walked down to see a dfriend and back. Still not enough movin' but I'm expanding bit by bit. At least I don't feel quite so reluctant to go up and down the steps.

WHEW! 1 hour done with the filing and sorting, purging of papers. I'd say it's about 24" long, 1 foot or 16" wide and a bit taller than a file. The files can hang; sometimes I take regular files and tuck them into the hanging ones. I can't believe how I found my first-ever free published volunteer-basis poem for the Service Unit Team's Girl Scouts Area newspaper. It was yellow with age. My use of exclamation points was unreal and overdone. I have a co-writer in my group and he says that too many exclamation points are like taking too many golf swings at the same ball. Pretty soon they don't mean anything. I think it's along the same lines as what DH says about men cussing. If they cuss all the time, they must not be able to insert a regular word with true meaning, using the intellect, so they cuss as a lazy way out. He said when a man never cusses, like DH does not, when they/he DO/does cuss, it's effective and you know WOW, he's mad! :!:  I understand that. DH can go 3 - 5 years without a cuss word. ♥ It's wonderful to live with a man who respects others like that, I think.

I found some letters written to me by my dson's oldest son, some photos, and things close and dear to my heart. It's been quite a journey down memory lane and YES! :!: I found my "Why I Talk to God," essay! :P It needs editing and a rewrite, of course. It was nice/fun to submit contest poems and greeting card poems today, too.

It's sunny here now. My back ached, put Icy Hot Roll-On on it, took Acetaminophen, feel fine now.

"Woman's Day" Magazine came today, with Dr. Oz's "The Good Life," Magazine subscription card on it, which they'd already pre-addressed to me, so I wrote "Bill Me Later," and will send it tomorrow. I got an issue on my Nook, but it's a bit difficult to maneuver on the Nook, so wanted the paper magazine. This way, I can cut out tips for envelope tuck-ins when writing letters to DD, Dcousin-in-law, and pen pals.

I took a nap, to lovely soft music instrumentals DH put on. I was tired from trotting between the kitchen/great room area and the office. I got the Rubbermaid file container decluttered. Found files to sort through, from it, tomorrow.

Elizabeth , You're so sweet, so of course we'd support you here or IRL. :)

Dee , How is your DH this evening? :?:

Waving hello to ALL of you! :D
