Helia, there are different board styles that one can select in the User Control Panel to change the appearance of the page. I'm using "Spring Element" which seems simple and unbusy.

Round of errands - ended up getting Frontline for dmom's dogs, hoping that will take care of the itching. I treated myself to a walk through Tar-jay and Michaels - bought a 4th of July "bunting" for the house, if someone will help me get it put up over the front steps.

Today is my kids birthday - of course dd is away - we will see her this weekend but ds is here. I think he just wants to order pizza for supper. I also got a little cake at P ublix.

I need to head out to WW next to weigh in. It's hot, hot, hot here - hoping I've excreted enough of the water I'm drinking so I get an accurate weight.

Quick post without cuop for the last two days. I'm sitting in the living room, watching the dark clouds roll in. I did go back & read some old posts from a few days ago & wanted to welcome back Cats, Mystery, Suzelew & Ejagno! It is so good to see all of you here again . Oh, & I also wanted to say a belated thank you to Kathryn's ddaughter for her help with moving our village. I missed that somehow & really appreciate her time & expertise, too.

I hear thunder now, & ddog is pressed up against the couch near me. Better turn off the computer. Hope everyone in the path of the storm stays safe & doesn't lose power.

Well, another day when I feel I have not worked AT ALL... but the "productive" hours of the day are quickly disappearing and this is how my time chart looks:
11:00 -- awake... eat... internet...
11:30 -- dgs arrived... talked to dmom on phone... (over an hour -- LILAC, I feel your pain...)
12:00 -- dgs... dmom on phone
12:30 -- dgs... dmom on phone
1:00 -- walked 3 miles w/ds, dgs in stroller
1:30 -- dgs... ds sitting and talking w/dh
2:00 -- ^ ... ^
2:30 -- ^ ... ^
3:00 -- ^ ... ^
3:30 -- ^ ... ^ ds left
4:00 -- phone call from friend of the family, needed names for caregivers... finally got to s2s... ds in pack-n-play
4:30 -- finished s2s... watered plants... called friend back w/more info... called dcousin... left message STILL wondering what plans are for the 4th...
5:00 -- here...

Am I the most unproductive person in the world? I know dgs is here a lot but other people manage w/small children 24/7... what's the deal?

Well -- I know -- OTHER people get up earlier... but as I stated in a previous post, w/dh and this crazy schedule we keep, that is not likely to happen. So it is what it is.
I'll quit griping about it all and do what I can and forget about the rest. * sheesh *

Let's look at another way.

OH -- a joy to report! Dmom said duncle stopped by yesterday, and he remarked on how her kitchen table was pretty much all cleaned up! HOORAY -- she has kept it that way for six days now!!! Next week, I have sort of committed myself to helping her dig out the office desk as well. * whew * She had to order printer cartridge also, and it should be in by then. That would be so wonderful... if she could get her work spaces cleared enough to actually know what she needed to work on!

H. Is home now we need to think about dinner. Thanks for the ann. Wishes!

Got 13 eggs so far Today. I have water trickling slowly for the hens in the shade on bricks they are playing in the water. Time to get frozen berries put for them.

Dish washer has been rebooted. Time to round up and sort laundry.

Hi everyone. I'm currently sitting on the front porch enjoying cuop and a nice breeze. The temp earlier this afternoon was 94* but has dropped to 87* due to rain headed our way this evening.

MT, I'm glad Mr. MT is home again and starting to feel better.

Nancy, wow, 98*.... that's too hot for people and chickens!

Harmony, 100 vcr tapes----disappear them one or two at a time and use the blankets as batting in quilts. I was nice talking to you this afternoon; I'm glad we could catch up on things!

I woke up at 6:30am this morning and couldn't go back to sleep; dh woke about the same time so we both got to say hello-goodby to ds#3 as he left for work this morning at 7am. Ddil and dgd16 left about 10 am for their jobs so we were home-bodies today. I took that opportunity to catch up on a few things. Kitchen was cleaned up, dishes washed and dried, hardwood floors swept throughout the downstairs area, lol washed, dried and put away in dh's and my suitcases. I also folded a load of clothes of dson's left in the dryer. (He can put his own clothes away himself......haven't done that chore for years and years!) Oh, I also washed the ddog's water and food bowls and filled them up again.

I have tried a few of the board preference designs and have on the Social....one now. I like the look of the clean page and the print is easy to read. I tend to use one for a good long while then switch to another just for a change, something to go with season changes. Oh, I meant to ask Harmony: at what website did you get your lady and coffee cup avatars?

Dgd19 is on her way home! I saw a note earlier today from ddil#2 that she had arrived in Newark and is due in FL sometime this evening! I know she'll be glad to be home and I'm excited to hear all about her trip when we get home and see her again.

I don't think we will get much bad weather from the tropical storm, either here or in FL. We probably have some rain.

Dson, dh and dgd have gone to W-M for a few groceries, etc. and I have enjoyed sitting here on the porch, but there has been a pesky little gnat flitting around, so I think I will go inside before I have to pull his teeth!

Hello to Mystery and everyone!

Upset here.

Worked on emptying another box or two in the office (succeeded) and then dh and I went out to try a bike ride. I had changed from shoes with the orthotics to sandals for the bike ride but then worked around waiting for dh so my feet hurt by the time we got to the basement. Then I had to wait for dh to pump up his tire because it is flat.

I had trouble mounting the bike. I have to do it using the bad heel leg because my bad knee leg can't handle the stress of the up and over. Which means I'm doing it 'backwards' to me. Plus I have no balance. Anyway got going but couldn't get the bike into the lowest set of gears. Then dh noted my rear tire needed pumping up.

So I paid for a tune-up on my bike and 7 of the gears are inaccessible and dh paid for a tune-up on his and they failed to note the flat tire (this is the second time he's had the bike out and he had to inflate the tire before leaving last time, too.) Oh, and they had the bikes for over 2 weeks so it wasn't like it was a 'rush' job. Sigh. Hope they fixed ds' bike at least.

We biked to the nearest beach to check it out, then to the outdoor store to buy an inner tube for dh's bike, to the bank machine for dh, then back to the beach and had dinner at the patio restaurant there. Finally we biked home along the parkway on a recreation path. Total biking, probably less than 4 miles, maybe less than three.

Each time I had to dismount I found a hilly place where I could step off without falling off. That is until I got to the garage and there I nearly fell off. I'm so frustrated. I can't walk and I can't bike. I stagger everywhere like I'm drunk because I have no balance. I'm in pain because of my size but I can't exercise. Before the move, I wasn't in pain like this, the floors are making me much worse. For the past few days I've tried hard to stay off my feet (doing under 5K steps a day) and that helped a bit. Today, I'm at 7K steps but that isn't correct, biking gets counted as steps with the fitbit.

Since getting home I've emptied another box in the living room and mended my bike helmet pad. Plus, while dh was prepping his bike to be left downstairs (he takes off the seat and then covers the bike with a sheet), I cleared out the back of the car, folded up the tarp and put the seat backs up so we have a car again instead of a 'truck.' I'm done with moving large things!

Dh is now unpacking and installing our new sound system for the tv/bluray. I ordered it for him on Saturday after the SHEboards were up, and it arrived today. He was quite surprised and was hoping to watch a movie tonight so he's pleased to be setting it up now. He's going to watch King Kong (Peter Jackson version) and thought I might join him. I won't watch it but I'll sleep beside him on the couch while he watches it.
