Kathryn, I hope the sale goes through. Where will DSon go?

I feel so blessed that we did not have problems with our girls when they were old enough to leave the nest. Both of them had jobs the last 2 years of HS and 1 even went to school 1/2 days and had 2 jobs after that. It's funny, I don't think we did anything different than most people, they just always had the ambition to be independent.

Dee, I'm happy for you about the new car. We've had a check engine light on for years on and off. DH checked it and it is one of the oxygen sensors but he doesn't know which one and refuses to change them both. And the A/C has a leak which we keep recharging, but the charge is lasting a shorter and shorter time and you can all imagine how uncomfortable that is in Florida. We don't do car payments so we are waiting, and I am praying for something dependable and cheap to come along.

I cleaned up some old folders today. I guess that was my anti-p.

Day was difficult for both of us with multiple problems. New helper does not do good working in the heat. Not everybody can tolerate this. He is trying, but it's not good and we are on the lookout for someone better.

Since we had the social outing with our small group tonight we needed to be out of here at 4:30, which we managed, but several things got left undone. Oh well. Tonight was fun. I had large antipasto salad and shared some with DH, especially the hot peppers they put in. I can't do those.

Stopped at 2 places on the way home and cleared up some things at work sites.

Was nice to see Lynlee here. Sorry you weren't feeling well.

No idea where ds will go. I feel bad about making him homeless again.

It's 82.0* here at 7:42 p. m. in the shade of our covered front porch. It had been nearly 90* here, like 88.7* here, once when I checked this afternoon. They say quite a T-Storm will hit tonight, as it cools down, on into Tuesday and Tuesday afternoon. We're under a red flag warning, all over W. WA State from the Canadian border to the Oregon border. They stated on the news how dry the tinder is on the ground, in woods, bushes, etc... and how they expect wildfires popping up, too, because the fire danger is so high.

It's scary for DH and me, because we have 36 acres of woods, but live on 2 acres of cleared land, with trees around us. I told DH what I'd take if we need to evacuate, but then asked, "OR would you stay to fight the fire?" He said, "I'D STAY to fight the fire!" He was very emphatic about it, too! I'm doing LOL, in case we get power outages, as we sometimes do during T-storms. I'm so glad I sent in 3 short stories this weekend, although it was very hard on me, this morning, physically, from sitting in the office chair so much this weekend. I took breaks, had a timer set for 30 minutes, but continued to come back and add more. At least, with stretching and my cane this morning, I walked 35 minutes. Then, I loosened up and felt so much better.

I was told by a co-writer, on a podcast, how it's good to get magazines of all types, to read, to keep up on the latest things. He's my friend and in our group. He said he often picked up random magazines, to get a "feel" for things going on in today's society, to get new ideas. I felt a good place to start was with "People," Magazine. It can give me ideas on young people, since I'm 62.5 years old, and sometimes like to write like I'm in my 20's, as a first person POV. DH got the "People," magazine, I'm excited to read it, but am doing snail mail today, first.

DH also bought Covington (5!) t-shirts at Sears for him, they're being hung now, as they just came out of the dryer. The other shirt/LOL is drying now. Whew! I think we're beating any old T-storms! But our Dneighbor's outdoors, in this terribly muggy heat, with his heavy equipment and the advice we're always given is how heavy equipment and power saws, being used in the woods, which he's in, beside OUR woods, can cause a spark, to cause a forest fire. I sure hope he doesn't start one, but we decided to sue, if he destroys our woods, due to fire from his foolishness. I welcome the rain with the T-storms, but NOT the dry lightning. It'll be a long 24 - 48 hours for us, hoping for the very best for ALL of our state, West, East, and Central, where we have wildfires burning at this time.

Kathryn, I hope your sale goes through, too. You've been waiting for awhile and want/need to really move onward. It's exciting to hear your news, because it's almost sold now!

Harmony, I'm glad you were blessed with wonderful DD's when they left the nest. How fortunate for them and you and your DH.
