:D Good Evening, Ladies! :D

This is a quick C. I. I've been reading an e-reader book on-line, I'm at 39% now, did 1 LOL, 1 LOL will start on the timer soon, and am "trying" to outline a short story, but.... It's a serious drama and difficult to write. :( I can't seem to make it "sing" yet, but I've only written the opening scene on 1 page and outlined the next page. It has a l-o-n-g way to go and I'm truly doubting this one. I'm thinking about writing a humorous story now, full of laughs, because this dramatic one's a downer. Too serious.

We had a good dinner. It was a rice and chicken dish with Brussels sprouts. Oh. I just forgot. I was going to have 45-calorie bread with apple butter on it. Oops. I guess I can have it with Greek yogurt as toast in the a.m. :?:

DH got a hair cut today, (before the Saturday funeral of his Dfriend's.) and he went to the grocery store. He doesn't want to go anyplace tomorrow, but.... my eyeglasses might be ready. I HOPE, because I get headaches with this old prescription from 2011. :(

Harmony, It's great you have a job like that starting up. :) Hope you find out when, soon.

Kathryn, Your lovely balcony sunset sounds super! :!: :P

Nancy, The doorbell trick sounds smart! :!:  :)

I dusted the house, but forgot my small office! AND I've been in it almost all day, reading my e-book novel. I'll get to it before bedtime. I know the laptop's been dusted yesterday though.

Have a GR8 night, Everybody! Waving to you ALL! :D

Legitimate push to get the meat frozen (dh did most of that) and I cleaned out the fridge and cut up the watermelon so it fits along with the stew I made today. The fridge is packed full but will be better once the watermelon and the stew are gone and once we have a few more salads (I picked up veggies from Costco today and they are overwhelming the fridge.)

I've got to stop shopping at Costco because we can't handle the quantities. On the other hand, the carrots were nice and cheap. Its just that I'm storing 10lbs of them in the fridge at the moment. Give me a few days (I eat lots of carrots, daily and paying $1+ a pound lately has been driving me nuts so I grabbed these ones at 50 cents a pound.

On the other hand, on Sunday dh will be buying more of his Chinese drinks and I'll need room for those.

I did rearrange things so I'm hoping this shelf arrangement will work better than the last one. The idea had been to put the tall shelf down low and put smaller stuff like leftovers up at eye level. But it never worked the way we had hoped. I guess 50 years of reaching for tall things on the top shelf was just too much of a habit to break. At this point I still don't have it fully efficient (while typing I realized a change I can make) but it should be better than it was.

I watched the last of the second season of Suits and will go to bed now. Dh is watching the news while getting ready and I'm trying to avoid the headlines. They are all so awful these days.

Watched the video of the little girl. I can remember having melt downs like that when I discovered the concept of mortality. Gosh the baby was cute, just smiling at her.

Lucylee - Was reading your post and it made me remember what my dMom did when my grandmother died. She had all of her possessions so she laid everything out and had my cousin and I take turns in taking what we wanted from our dgrandmother. It worked out well (although I really wanted that ring that she grabbed first  ) but it still worked out. A few years later her house burned to the ground and they lost everything and I mean everything. It was a tragedy. I went through all of the things I had garnered of my grandmothers (a lot of it was handmade things because she was a wonderful knitter, cross stitcher and all things with a sewing machine) so I just split everything I had with her. Her children were the same age as my boys so they gave a lot of their toys and such to their cousins. When I think of it now, I think it was a reasonable way to do it. :D
