Cue some zebras: "I like to move it, move it!"

Cat care is done. DPC is done, and my car will be at the 'spa' for at least another day. Lunch is done. Two crisis cleaning slips done: MBR and laundry room. The MBR is not complete, so it goes back in the jar, but the laundry room slip is in the trash!

I have a dollar store straw hat that DD12 thinks looks ridiculous. I suggested crocheted flowers and got eye rolling, NOT cool. The skull pattern from a shawl converted into a band got approval and is now printing. I think I will do it in the rose pink.

Weekend report: DD's favorite of the foster kittens has gone to his new home. We all miss him, but there are already other kittens that need his foster slot. The animal org fundraiser was a success, but there is always stuff leftover. The Free Store* at my church was having a need for everyday glassware, precisely the stuff that the animal org had too much of and didn't really want to repack for the next sale. (Some of this stuff had been through several sales, there was just too much of it). So, I volunteered to transfer it. I also rescued a crocheted baby hat from the yard sale for the church's Care Net** drive in February.

Plan for the rest of the day:
Important stuff: file unemployment, resume to a likely looking job, resumes to less likely jobs from 9/4, resume to marginal job, check 10 items on job search master list.
Ongoing stuff to do on breaks: check emails, send 2 emails.
Other stuff to accomplish: study Java and Perl, new Bible study work, Anna dress painting and sewing.
Pending stuff I probably won't get to: animal org minutes, Dad's pictures, move an account, post pattern fix to Ravelry.

So glad to hear about LadyMaverick's LO.

*Free Store = a store at our church where lower income people can shop for housewares, everything is free (other churches handle food and clothing)
**Care Net = crisis pregnancy center that the church has a baby shower for every February

LM, thank you for letting us know. I was wondering if he was in surgery or still waiting - I'm never sure about the time difference, and then he might have been delayed. I'm putting out some magazines and soft drinks in our "virtual waiting room" so we can hang out with you.

I uploaded receipts for glasses and contacts to our FSA site for reimbursement. That will almost expend the account for the year so I won't have to scramble to get receipts and upload next spring. I have the lasagne in the oven and need to get the rest of the meal together.

And then this sat here on the computer and LO is already out of surgery....

Back home and fed.

Choir went well. It was just three of us and we planned up until Thanksgiving (ours, not yours!)

Then I dropped dh at the house and went to get the mail. No luck, my parcel still isn't in. Had a long talk with the postmistress. They are heading over to England next week because his brother died unexpectedly and has no immediate family of his own so they have to shut down the house. It was a shock (he was on a bike ride and found at the side of the road.) Given that she has advanced liver cancer, this is a big deal but she says she is well enough to go.

By the time I got back to the house, dh had cut the vine from about 5' up to the ground. When I arrived he could start in on the ladder work. It actually came down quite easily (it was over 20' tall, and 3' diameter, intertwined in the antenna tower.)

Ds arrived and helped. He's found an apartment that should work. It is a 2 bedroom so we'll help him with rent (and be able to use the second room for storage.) Dd has a friend in the building who highly recommends it. So I'm pleased. We'll go on Thursday to apply (I figure I have to co-sign the lease.) It is at the limit of what ds can afford (even with our help.) On the other hand, it is available on October 1 so we'll have time to move the contents of the house over.

On the way home, dh picked up Chinese and I picked up Subway and ate in the car. Time for me to change and bike over to my class.

Glad to see that LO's procedure went ok.

Kathryn ~ That sounds like a great solution, a place for DS to live that also has the storage that you need.

Check In:
I did sewing group paperwork all morning and answered Emails.
Went to ATM and post office for sewing group business.
Also made 1 phone call about library group to pass on info about Thursday, a short call since I don't know anything yet.

I skipped nap time because DH wanted to go out to lunch before doing anything with the lawnmower.
We listened to funny podcasts in the car on the way to The Big City, ate lunch at BK so DH could have onion rings, picked up some groceries at Aldi, and on the way home listened to a podcast about the difference between regional dialects and accents.

DH took the mower to the mechanic while I put away groceries. Since I will be away most afternoons this week, we bought ingredients for things that can be cooked in the crockpot. Our weather has turned cold enough that I'm in the mood for hot meals, especially since we don't want to turn on the furnace this early in September!

I have set my dvr to record Dancing With the Stars tonight. I usually recognize most of the "stars" they cast, but this season I don't know as many. I hope the young girl from Duck Dynasty does well, she seemed very sweet the 1 season I watched of that show. I remember Lea Thompson from the Back to the Future movies. Betsey Johnson is quite an extroverted character as a costumer and fashion designer.

The grapes are frozen and I have them all bagged up now for the record hens enjoy frozen or not alive earwigs.

ToddlerN's mom has a new job in town, that is good so less travel time.

I need to get the lasagne in the oven for dinnef that is the plan here as well.

Made more progress on crocheting.

LO did not do well with waking up after surgery. He had emergence delirium. He would wake up and fight like crazy having to be restrained by multiple people.. It was 50 minutes after his surgery was over before they could move him from OR to recovery. Then we spent another three hours beside him in recovery before he finally woke up. He is very hoarse and about to loose his voice. He is coughing like he has the croup. The docs think he will be okay and the cough will be short lived. I hope they are telling us the truth. I feel like they are hiding something that happened after the surgery in OR.

Check in: I have not done anything on my important stuff list. I have been checking job agents and emails and the time got away from me. However, I am going to do the most likely job IMMEDIATELY AFTER POSTING!!! In fact the appropriate web page is open in another tab. I have set up a phone interview for Wednesday and corresponded about a potential adoption for dFosterCat14. Other stuff accomplished: set up car repair (yep, more of it), caught up with all emails (quite a job), and fielded some phone calls. One was very odd, the call ID said '2025'. Maybe I should not have told them wrong number, perhaps I could have gotten stock tips from the future! Someone else called about my order. It sounded like the same person who has been calling about my other 'orders'. I can barely understand his accent and once I figure out what I he thinks I ordered, I tell him I didn't order it, then he offers me the product on 'special'. It is very annoying, because I can't understand him and it takes me a while to figure out it is not for me. (At least I think it's not for me, maybe it is?)

ETA: forgot the big accomplishment undertaken while on a short break - crisis cleaning slip for north back yard. Spent 15 minutes weeding and made a noticeable difference.
