Home at last.

Long day.

But successful.

Picked up the truck late but they held it. Got out to the house around 9:15 and when ds called at 9:30 we had 1/3 of the garage loaded. He went to breakfast and then met us back at the apartment so he was running on 3 hours sleep all day. Poor guy was exhausted.

We had the freight elevator from 11 - 12 and barely got the van unloaded and upstairs. I think I mentioned that the management company was redoing balconies so ds got a break on rent. Well, they are working over the loading door so we had to get everything in through the lobby, then into the garbage room and onto the freight elevator. It was really awkward and time consuming.

Once the elevator was full, I took it upstairs and started unloading while waiting for ds to come up. There was one stack of tubs left but it was too high for me to reach the top one. Once ds arrived, he carried the heavy bins to the apartment for me and then left me to move everything from outside the elevator to his apartment.

Two miles of steps later (!), we were ready to drive to dd's to load the bed. I had a snack at ds's and dh had a lemonade and then we headed off. The bed loaded up quickly. We had another short break and then headed back to the house because the freight elevator was booked until 3. We loaded up the last of the major stuff (there's still odds and sods) and arrived back at 3:15. By then, the workmen were blocking even more of the way and the freight elevator was still in use but we got things upstairs by 4 and headed over to our apartment where we unloaded the dining chairs.

Ds and I took those upstairs while dh took the rental back. Then ds and I picked up dh and dropped ds at his apartment. He was too tired to eat (let alone cook) so he went to bed and dh and I went out for dinner.

We had two loads from our car to bring upstairs and when we finished that it was 7 so I quickly changed and got to class at 7:20 (dh and ds insisted I drive the mile to class.)

My second class was fascinating, the first was too graphic and sensationalist (a video on hell.)

I'm home now. I have to find room for the chairs and the other things we brought back. It will be a slow process I'm sure.

Tomorrow, when ds is awake, he'll call me and I'll go over and start loading the storage room. I also have to go back out to the house to sell the antenna and tower. The tower is blocking the rest of the stuff in the shed so I'll be glad when it is gone. We had to leave the extra bike there but it will fit in the car.

I'll bring back another lamp at the same time, leaving just one in the house. The place is almost completely empty (basically only things to be donated or disposed of are left, plus cleaning supplies.)

Next week is becoming extremely busy.

Sunday we are visiting my friend 2 hours away.

Monday I have class.

Tuesday we have friends from England visiting for lunch.

Thursday is house closing day so we'll have to have the place completely empty and clean by then. We also have a dinner guest that night.
