lucylee, are you taking a fish oil or another Omega 3? It is supposed to be good for eczema and other skin worries, I believe, (perhaps something to read up on) and might help, or if you already take one, you might consider a different one or different dose to increase the EPAs.

I've exercised and S2slippers. I'll put my hair up at 10 and hit the hay.

HRH and I sat on the couch together and watched Keeping Up Appearances just for the calming effect of Onslow and Daisy, and highly recommend a few episodes for lowering blood pressure and giving laughter.

CI: I have been working away at my stated goals all day and have completed all except the one for bringing everything in from my car. I changed my strategy for that goal, and I am instead bringing in from the car only a little at a time so I can process the items (sort, evaluate their condition, and clean) and find homes for them before I bring in the next batch.

Tomorrow I will need to focus on that process, to get everything in from the car. Then I can go to The Big City to run errands, drop off donations, and get groceries.

We have still been receiving political calls today, which is so annoying. I wish I could be assured that it will all be over after tonight -- but there have been reports in the news that one of the candidates for senator has been asking about the procedures for demanding a recount if she doesn't win.

Our voting place was quite busy when I went there shortly after 4. DH said there were long lines when he stopped on his way home after work.

Kitty caught a mouse last night!!!!! Today, Dsis emailed a tip for me. She said in the insecticide section of Lowe's and/or Home Depot, they sell mouse-deterant plug-ins. They emit a frequency, which scares off mice, but it's safe to ears of humans and pets. Pets and humans cannot hear them. This eliminates the problem of traps, dead or alive mice in the house, and Dsis has used them 7 times, with good success, too. Just thought I'd pass it on, to whomever may need such a thing. It sounds less messy that traps, cat-kills, etc....

I've walked 11,708 steps, it's 7:10 p.m. here, and the night's not over!

DH is trying to find something on TV, as they're playing re-runs on the stations, because of it being election results night, I suppose.

We have a storm moving in tomorrow again, they'll be with us through Thursday, but Friday - Sunday will be dry and nice.

Hmmm... dh takes fish oil, Harriet, but I do not -- so far. DH hasn't mentioned any fishy after-taste problems, but I've heard some people have that complaint.
And the apple cider rinse, Twins... again... hmmm... I may be feeling about like Mr. Twins on that, too.
The excema IS definitely on my fingers, and I know when I get this cream rx filled tomorrow it will probably take care of it. It always has in the past. Just hoping the other stuff clears up my neck and scalp. It is sooo worrisome, and the skin is really, really dry. Red, dry, and ITCHY.
Oh -- and I don't eat yogurt. So that's good, right?

I'll shampoo with the new baby shampoo tomorrow morning. I don't really like a body wash, prefer my regular Dove soap, but I'll give the body wash a try.

Election results here are a mixed bag -- local elections, I mean. But we aren't really upset about the votes we lost. We don't really have a deep concern for any of the candidates, I guess. We voted our preference, but we're not going to be heartbroken or angry if our guys don't win. On our statewide elections, I guess we're more concerned with those candidates actually, and our local representative race is very, very close right now.

Harriet, I watch that every Sat. evening, also As Time Goes by, and Last of the Summer Wine (which cracks me up). Not everybody gets English humor!

Finally was able to sit with DH and go over these statements, which I then finished printing up, ready to send out tomorrow. I hope I have enough manilla envelopes.

FFriend, we have a set of those mouse/bug deterrents. I've read conflicting reports about whether they really work or not. Who knows? Maybe they do work; I don't have mice or bugs!

Lucylee, I have Triamcinolone Acetonide cream for my hand eczema (which I also get inside my ears and use there too). It's a steroid cream. Any steroid cream helps to calm my flairs. Dr. told me to rub that in, then put Aqua phor moisturizing cream (it's by Eucerin) on and do that at night and put those soft gloves on and keep on all night. That really helps me. For my head I use T-G el shampoo, that's a yucky dark brown stuff and I rub it all over my scalp and leave on for a few minutes, then I rinse it off and shampoo as usual. When I take my fish oil it doesn't get so bad.

Hi everyone! Late check in, which will likely be my norm for the foreseeable future. I got to do some actual work at work today. I asked about extra vacation days for December as LWOP. It is likely a no-go, but my boss will check. Even if it is no, I will still get a very short trip. Girls' Night Out was spent at the kitchen table doing homework. After DD12 left, I checked email and did a website update.

Next up: type a court document and email to the X, cat care, trash and recycles to the curb, arrange flower delivery to church, pack lunch, shower, bed. There is probably something I forgot. Oh yeah, dinner!

Harmony, I am too computer illiterate to be able to put a picture there. Dh worked and worked and couldn't get one small enough and gave up. BUT our dear, sweet Katherine surprised me and I was so thankful. It was just what dh and I were shooting for.

Harmony -- I've been using T-Gel -- I know what you're talking about! And see, it seemed like I was getting this kinda sticky build-up on my hair, and the beautician said it was probably the T-Gel, and I should try something else for a while, or at least alternate it with something else. And that is when it seems like things started getting really bad. But I was already having the flakiness/etc before I switched, so I don't think it is ALL the change in shampoo. But maybe the switch to the baby shampoo will help take care of both problems. * sigh * Doctor also recommended DHS Tar shampoo if I felt I had to use dandruff shampoo once this clears up a little.

I think the cream I'll be using is a steroid type, also. It is called Cloderm -- and I think he gave me a liquid form also which he said to mix with the moisturizer, which he said was called Cerave -- I think I spelled that right. And my ears bother me sometimes too. Allergy doctor said that was common, b/c all your shampoos/etc get in your ears, too, and irritate them if you have any sensitivity. But I have been using OTC cortisone creams and that does no good at all. Gold Bond medicated is the best OTC remedy I have found, and Benadryl spray.

I do like the Eucerin excema lotion -- so I bet the other is good, too.

I guess I should give the fish oil a try, too. DH has a huge bottle of it in here. But really, I'm sorta afraid to try ANYTHING new at this point, you know? What if I have a reaction to fish oil? * sheesh *

Also want to remember to tell ds/ddil about those mouse deterrents. Y'all are sure they won't bother the dog? They don't have problems now, but if/when they ever get moved, I'm afraid they will have problems at dmil's house.

lucylee, I use a Neutrogena anti-residue formula shampoo on my hair the night before I color it. This "clarifies" it by removing any buildup of mousse or hairspray. My dh uses the T-Gel extra strength shampoo daily.

Speaking of coloring my hair. For years I had used a 50/50 combo of light blonde and dark neutral blonde. The reason I didn't just use medium blonde is because it had a reddish tint to it. At one point my hair had gotten too blonde and I felt like it washed me out, so I went to using just the dark neutral blonde. It seems to get darker and darker. I don't mind that but once my hair grows, then the gray roots are more obvious. I am still growing my hair out, but it is a slow process. I am amazed at how fast it grows after a trim, but when I go for a trim, she trims a lot of the new growth. She really makes it a vicious circle. Today I bought more of the light blonde since it was on sale. Guess I will go back to the 50/50 combo for awhile.

Dh has been on this medicine for 8 days and he is still having problems. His hearing is not what it should be at all. If he isn't better when the 2 weeks of medicine is gone, then he needs to go back. At this rate his hearing might never be what it was again. When he is here, the TV is blaring. I stay upstairs and watch TV because I can't stand to be that close to a blaring TV.

I haven't even checked our election returns. I decided to just wait until morning when the results should be final.

The Hallmark channel and the Hallmark movie channel both have Christmas movies, almost nonstop. On Thursdays, the Hallmark movie channel will feature old Christmas movies.

The doctor told me I could go ahead and color my hair, Lilac, so I plan to do that Thursday. I'll use the baby shampoo tomorrow and then color on Thurs. Good to know there's a Neutrogena clarifying -- I've never looked for it, so I didn't know. But if I EVER get this condition calmed down, I may go back to T-Gel and maybe use the clarifying shampoo at least once a week.

Hope your dh gets some relief soon, too!
