This afternooon I spent time in the craft room cleaning and you can tell it looks better! Toddlern is better an loves to put stuff in the trash so she helps. I put out a couple of decorations today. Filled a couple of gift baskets got a couple of cards off too. So that felt productive.

We mailed out 4 gift mailers to some friends of mine and all of our Christmas cards to family, friends, retirees and neighbors and pen pals today. It's nice to have everything on their way. 
I took 2 back-to-back naps in the late morning in the recliner. I don't know why I was so tired. I've been busy, I guess.
It's in the 20's at night and the 30's in the daytime. Everything's white and frosty, when the sunshine hits the frost, it sparkles real pretty.
Last night, I wrote DH 2 separate lists. 1's for Costco; 1's for a grocery store/pharmacy where I get my prescriptions. There will be freezing fog in the morning, DH leaves around 9:40 a.m., so am hoping the freezing fog's gone by then. It most likey will be, because there are so many cars traveling to work. I imagine that tires wear the ice off the roads by 9:40 a.m. and they sand the spots where ice forms regularly, too, especially the bridges and corners and curves.
I'm working on my Home Journal week-at-a-glance reminders tonight. I made a spot inside my small office, to have my Home Journal opened out flat, as I can read it as I come in through my office doorway. I've decided to keep my PODA beside my laptop, on my desk, so I can read/see it more often. Whenever I keep it on the kitchen's eating bar, it's not only "clutter" (to me!), but I pass by it without reading it!
What's the "point" of having a PODA if you won't look at it! 
Also, I've found, if I leave 3 - 4 lines empty on it, I can add items to it, as they come to mind, throughout the day and/or evening, too. This is working out better for me.
A chore I need to do is putting reminders, goals, etc.. into my 2015 day planner. It has a monthly list for goals, to accomplish monthly, it has lists on either side of the facing week's dates, which I can add things to, too, and also the daily squares with about 8 lines each. I use mine for appt.'s, routines, and things to keep me "on track," and to remind me when I should send somebody a b-day card, go visit a shut-in, or do some sort of seasonal cleaning project or decorate for a season or holiday. I use Helen Steiner Rice's Day Planner because her poems are in it, along with some nice quotes. This 2015 one is dark rose-colored and the headers on the pages are, too, and the pages are pastel rose. The 2014 one was green. I love how it has a 2-page one-month section, to quickly add appt.'s, when I'm at the Dr. or dentist's office, too, or when DH has an appt. I might start keeping my day planner open, to each week, next to my laptop, too, and then put it into my purse, when I'm heading out the door. I always keep a copy of medications and supplements I'm taking, folded, inside the planner, and I put the names/phone #'s of the adult kids, Dr.'s, etc... in case of emergencies, too. I "need" to put phone #'s in the new one, along with the insurance agent's cell phone #, too. You just never know, and it's best to be prepared with the proper #'s on hand, rather than go BANANAS or BONKERS during an emergency!
I most likely won't have a daily desk calendar this year, as I can see FlyLady's calendar from my office chair. Also, a charity I enjoy giving to so MUCH, gives me free year-at-a-glance calendars, which I'll keep on my desktop in 2015, plus a little calendar booklet for Jan. - Dec., which I write my weight down in, every a.m., in our walk-in closet, to keep on track. I have the acrylic and metal Conair Weight Watchers scales, from Costco, which are digital and accurate as I compare my weight to that of my primary Dr.'s scales. This particular little monthly calendar booklet states, "I BELIEVE IN ANGELS!" and has a cute flying angel on it, with hearts on the trim of her pinafore and she's clutching a calico heart in her arms, as she flies across the page, with a home on the hill. It's very nice. Also, in the set, are 2 bookmarks, which say, "If you've ever felt Love then you most certainly have been touched by an angel!" And there are also 4 1/2-year smaller cards, with quotes on them, with angel designs. One quote says, "The song of a bird is an angel's voice in the garden!" and the other quote on the other card says, "Angels don't leave anything to chance, although they show us we have a chance to do anything if we try!" I love those quotes. They're sweet.
DH let me order my Christmas from him to me today. I ordered 4 books and 1 music CD. I'm very happy with my choices and look forward to receiving them.
I put up "Ta-Dah Tuesday!" for my office display card for tomorrow. Perhaps I'll get more done than I did today. Today's been more of a "planning-stages" sort of day. The 2 naps, which were about 45 - 60 minutes each, kept my pedometer from getting very high. I'll try to get more steps in before bedtime though. I might do the 100-count method, where I go throughout the house, do 100 things, which can be easy like putting a new roll of TP on, or hanging up a nightgown, emptying trash in 1 room, or putting away a book. It makes it "fun" to just count and "go" until I get 100 items done. My other method is what I call, "Timer Tidy," where you just set your timer, go tidy, put away, pick up, or whatever. One method that Dson told me he's done before, is pick out a room, start in the right-hand nearest corner of the room, go around the room, counter-clockwise, until that room's done, then go on to another room.
Oh, my goodness! A low-flying helicopter (sometimes from JBLM (the 2 bases about 35 - 40 miles away - Army and A. F.) was flying overhead, really slow, and our house shook, things in my office rattled, and our Dcat hates it when this happens! She acts like "something" is going to GET HER! The poor thing. As long as it won't happen every hour on the hour, until dawn, it'll be okay!

Waving to ALL!!!
It has been a magnificent Monday here b/c * drum roll * I got all the Christmas stuff up and finished decorating the tree.
With NO help from dh, I might add.
I also walked 2 miles w/ds -- it was quite warm here this morning, high 60s... but now it is getting into the 40s. Looks like we'll be seeing lows in the 40s & 50s all week so I'm not complaining.
And, I had an church meeting tonight. It only lasted about 40-45 minutes -- but I'll need to type up those minutes soon. Probably not tonight, though. I'm kinda tired.
Tomorrow -- unless dmom changes her mind -- I need to go help her w/whatever she has going on. Maybe some filing? Maybe putting up HER Christmas tree. I really do not feel up to this right now, but I am trying to keep in my mind, "What would daunt do?" and I strive to follow that example.
Online shopping is so wonderful! Today UPS brought dgs's Thomas the Train play table. Good gracious that box was heavy. That will be another chore for ds to put together, but I told dh, I don't care if he waits till they get moved into dmil's house to do it. It can just stay in the box till then. Dgs will get enough for Christmas that he won't miss it. Also received his Lion King DVD today, and I won another auction on eBay. BUT... I am losing a second auction. I don't really like eBay; I had rather just BUY something. OTOH, ds wants Disney Treasure DVDs, and those can get very expensive outside of eBay, and I'm thinking if it came to the point of me spending $75-$100 dollars on a DVD vs just giving ds the $$$, I believe he'd rather have the money.
I am having trouble w/ideas for dbil, dnephew, and dbro, though... and I'd like to get ds something to unwrap besides Disney DVDs. The thing is -- he needs NO CLOTHES AT ALL. He has THREE large Rubbermaid containers PACKED w/my ddad's jeans and khakis, here at my house waiting for him to have time to try them on. He also has several suits, ties, and dress shirts at dmom's, waiting for him to try them on.
And, yes they are men and dh should involve himself a little in this thinking process, right? But he has no more ideas than I do. And if I just assign them to him, he will spend WAAAY too much on something that looks like it cost half as much as it did, and I'll think it is just ridiculous.
I'm kinda excited about dh's gifts, if I can keep e-mail cleaned out before he sees it! I found a belt buckle to replace two he has broken recently -- college logo -- and he is convinced that they don't make these anymore... AND I ordered (on eBay) the missing Hardy Boys book from his collection. It's not going to match the covers of his, but I noticed he has one already that doesn't match. I figure he would like to have this set completed and share them with dgs someday. I don't think ds ever read them, but you never know -- dgs might love them. All dh asked for was jeans and aftershave, so I think he'll be surprised.
FF, I like the way you are getting everything organized with your planner and PODA and everything. Twins, WTG on your steps -- and WTG to Kathryn & the rest of you who are doing so well with all this. Do you all use FitBits or something like that? Isn't there an app on the phone I could use? I would like to do that, but every time I've tried to use a pedometer, it has been very troublesome, so I'm hesitant to put $100 in a FitBit.
Oh, Harmony -- I don't do a LOT of decorating by most people's standards. DS and I had a ROFLOL moment one time, laughing about how the Tour of Homes would describe our displays... "And in the hallway, a lovely display of Santa figurines, including the mangled remains of ds's kindergarten creation from a baby food jar and the Santa with the bass drum and the broken arm... The nativity scene was a gift from dh's parents, but you will notice the three-legged lamb and the cow which is missing her entire lower bowel. It also appears, although we are not certain, but it appears that Mary has left Joseph and married one of the shepherds..."
And across the street, I have two neighbors with lovely white lights all across their shrubbery and lighted wreaths in every window and everything like that... but we put a single RED candle in each window, a wreath on the door, and the tree w/multi-colored lights in one of the front windows, and we look at what we have done and pronounce it good.
Our tree is also decorated with everything from ds's handprints from K-12, with his photo and signature, to a bell he made from an egg carton section and an ice cream cone with a red satin Christmas ball for the scoop... to gifts from students... to other handmade items... stuffed animals... seashells.... There is no "theme" at all to it except Memories.
And I wouldn't take anything for any of it. DH said tonight, "DS really enjoys Christmas doesn't he?" And I thought, yes, he does, in spite of me (and dh) often being stressed out by the time Christmas morning arrived -- so maybe we did something right, after all.
But definitely, as Twins said, do as much or as little as you like! I've told y'all about dfriend who decorated as follows: She brought the snow globe from the guest room and sat it on the TV.
That is all.

DH here loads the dishwasher, helia, and he does NOT do it correctly, but that is something I've just given up on as I've learned to pick my battles.
Oh -- speaking of Laura Ingalls Wilder, helia, have you seen the new biography of her? I read a review about it recently. It is probably very much like the Little House books, but not quite such a "sanitized" version. I think it is more truthful about some of the hardships they faced, whereas Little House puts a happy smiley face on everything for children.
Well, that gets me through the topic review posts, I think... I've cuop a couple of times today but I despise typing on my phone, so I haven't had time to post. DH has been on the computer too much today. I decided I'd use that time to try to better myself and accomplish something, rather than just piddling around, waiting on him. So I did my quiet time and Bible reading, got the tree finished, and exercised. So -- hope you all have a peaceful night and that tomorrow starts off great for you!
