I have 2 more cabinets to clean out but I don't think I can do it today. floors still need washing and the windows need washing, and the wall above the stove needs washing as well.

Kathryn, the smoke smell would really get to me. IKWYM because dbro smokes downstairs at my mother's house, and it permeates the house, her clothes, everything. In the beginning he only smoked outside but over the years he moved inside with it. Last January a home health care nurse gave him what-for about it (the house was quite smokey and smelly when closed up in the winter) but he started up again eventually. I can smell it on her clothes, purse, everything when we go out and sometimes prefer a window cracked or air blowing. Dmom was telling me today that he feels physically terrible also. I wonder how long he will be able to take care of her.

Email back almost immediately re situation this morning - spent a while on the phone with the guy who is the chair and he is to set up meeting before end of year. She indicated she would take care of calling re: rest of tuition but was almost flippant "These are all collectible amounts, and I'm not worried that any of them won't pay." She.just.doesn't.get.it. I will be resigning effective June 30 - our next year end if she doesn't get some sense.

Dh is getting a massage after work so I'm not sure what time he will be home.

I'm at a little less than 5k steps so far so need to get steps in tonight. This will be a 7 day streak, assuming I make it to 10K tonight.

Rats! I failed to post this earlier, dogs are walked now and I am up to 7500 steps.

H is late called to say the truck had mech probs. With the mixer truck on a job site.
Made deviled eggs today.
Gkids were more hyper than usual, toddlerN perked up seeing them. We made corn bread and cookies.

Yuck for smoke smell. I wouldn't like that. Another reason for single detached homes. No smells from next door.

And as for smells, I talked with DH about the odors last night. We aren't running any a/c or heat right now. We do have it turned to A/C but it won't come on unless we get up to 80 in here. So we still haven't figured it out. Odd.

Wanted to tell MT that her new doors sound wonderful. We do a lot of that kind of work. Actually, DH doesn't really like working on mobile homes (manufactured homes are easier) because their building elements are odd.

Dinner was leftovers again. I'm getting tired of that.
I did up all the spreadsheets for November. Just one more month in the year.

I got the record book for our committee all up to date. Our treasurer had said to me the other night she thought I was keeping her reports in my book. Oh. No. Well, I had kept all my copies, so I just needed to copy and put them behind a divider. I thought she'd keep her own records. Everybody turned up their noses or said something negative when the subject came up recently about needing someone to be Secretary. I am so looking forward to stepping down. I took all the stuff I had and sealed it up in a clasp envelope and put it away. I. Am. Done.

LOL Dee! When I got back to my computer and read my post, I wondered who was going to tease me about it!

No, we are booked to sing. But that makes only 2 singing gigs for us this season. The Italian one will be interesting since we are to perform, not do a sing-a-long which is our usual Christmas fare. On the other hand, that means that we can do some duets that we like to do. But we always end with O Holy Night and the crowd singing lustily and that won't happen this time. Not sure it will happen at the apartment complex party, either. That depends on which songs they choose. If they go secular, we won't push it since so many of the people in this building are not from this faith.

Dh and I watched Grand Budapest Hotel this evening. This may be the first movie we've watched together since moving here. I don't recall any others and with his work for NZ taking up his evenings, it is unlikely.

The bedroom wing seems to be staying smoke free. Not sure why; there's an exhaust fan in both my bathroom and dh's and there's currently no door closing off the wing (we took it off so I had easier access to the storage closet.) The towel along the door seems to be doing nothing.

I'm just hoping this is somehow temporary. Although I doubt it. Oh, and the radiator fan in the living room makes a weird, high pitched oscillating noise I'll have to remove everything from the radiator to prove it isn't something vibrating at a strange pitch but I'm pretty sure it is the fan. That might be a problem. Certainly it drives me nuts but doesn't last more than 2 minutes before the heat cycles off again. I'm starting to wonder if we've figured out why the previous tenant was only here a couple of years.

Dh is heading to bed early so I'll head off too. Tomorrow morning, I'm going to tackle the final decorating and get the tree up. I may just do lights and garland and wait for dd to come over to decorate. It is still very early for me to put up a tree. Normally I do it between 3rd and 4th Sundays of Advent.

Vacuumed the traffic area of the living room. H. Is home fixed dinner. Did a bit more spinning. We are supposed to have 50* Wed. Here, ice has all melted. Time to rinse the rest of the dishes.

Just a quick C. I. & C. U. O. P. tonight.

Emptynester, We used to live in a single wide mobile home, with 2 doors, on 1 side. They were ugly, but we lived their rent-free for 5 years, as a blessing from DH's grandparents. Our children were born, while there, too. So I have very fond memories of that place. I loved the built-ins, the wallpaper, windows, etc... Your new door sounds very pretty. I'm very happy for you. Home is where the heart is, it's our castle, and it's so fun to feather our nests, making new improvements. You're so lucky you can travel, too.

Sunny, we had a lot of rain here today. We're on the West side of the Cascade Mountain Range. DNancy's on the East side. Our weather varies a lot, from each other. I believe it's colder and more arid over there, wetter and more humid over here. Although, we can get snow, ice, freezing fog, ice storms and a LOT of wind-rain storms coming in off the Pacific Ocean or icy temps down from Canada's Frazier River Canyon. I'm unaware if DNancy gets those Frazier River ice cool-downs there or not. I'm thinking, perhaps, the Cascade Mtn. Range being between us, prohibits her from getting them. For tomorrow, the local Seattle news stated there will be an ice storm in E. WA State, but we are uncertain how far East that will actually go. Sometimes it means it'll stop in Central E. WA State, and doesn't go too far East than that. It's all very interesting, I find. DD told me once, how she feels I should have gotten a degree in meteorology and reported the TV weather news. For years, DMIL, Dfriends, Dneighbors, etc... would PHONE ME, to ask, "Do you know what the weather report said for today?" Too funny!

My BFF said she's ordering the new Dr. Phil McGraw book for me, called "The 20/20 Diet," but it won't be released until 1-5-15. She felt badly that my Christmas gift from her won't arrive until after Christmas, felt badly how she doesn't know how to knit, crochet, or make anything, like I can crochet, but her friendship is wonderful! You cannot put a price on a good friendship- it's priceless! I saw "Dr. Phil," one recent evening, he talked about his book, and people were in his audience who did the program and were successful. He talked about juicing, too. So this evening, I was looking for our blender, an Oster one, and I couldn't find it anywhere in the cabinets or appliance garage. I was nearly ready to phone DD, to see if I gave her my blender, if I did, could she please bring it back!?!? After dinner, I did find it, in a dark corner of our walk-in pantry, where DH had put things in front of it. I've gotten out the book, I saved the other book, from our old donated or broken (forgot what I did with it?) and so I'll have 2 books to use, for similar recipes and liquified concoctions. I don't want to invest in a juicer because I feel that my super-duper blender will/can do the same functions as a juicer can do, since it also makes smoothies. Dr. Phil said smoothies are on the list of 20 foods you eat in 20 days, too, as well as vegetables/fruits. It sounds very interesting to me and I'm delighted I'll be getting this book as a gift. I have his diet book written 10 years ago, as well. He's a very intelligent, honest to the core, informational author.

I accidentally slept in until 9:10 a.m., the UPS man was making a delivery today, between 9:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. DH was going to Costco, so I quickly freshened up, dressed, fixed my hair, put on eye-brows, etc.. I did 2 LOL, I've gone 10,466 steps already and it's only 7:27 p.m. as we "speak". I did 30 minutes of walking, 20 minutes of lifting/hauling, and 30 minutes of marching, as well as light housework. I got very, very tired this afternoon, from the activity, so napped at least 1.5 hours; possibly 2 hours. I felt better, more well-rested when I got up. DH wants to watch, "Peter Pan," live on NBC from 8 - 11 p.m. I'll watch it when I'm in the great room, but I have a trashed office, 1 LOL on the bed in the MBR to fold/put away, and need to s2s again. However, when I do a s2s, (shower-to-slippers!), I sleep like a baby, I drift off quickly, and have such wonderful dreams and don't ache. It's very therapeutic to shower at night, for me, in other words.

Brevity is not one of my finer qualities. Anyone who knows me IRL can attest to that fact, too! I need to get my driver's license renewed by my mid-Jan. birthday, too, but it'll be extremely stormy here tomorrow, all of next week, so it looks like I'll renew it the week of the 15th - 19th. It's so expensive now. $54, I believe DH said. Wow. But the great thing is, it's good for 6 years.

Popping in to say hello & goodnight. Just cuop for today after a busy day that started before 6:00AM. Our Christmas tree is up , & decorating is done except for 1 1/2 boxes. Looking forward to Saturday when nothing is on my schedule & I can relax & do some catching up.

Today was the Christmas dinner at work and then they could take the rest of the afternoon off. Dh chose to work, because he going to the dr. in the morning to have his ears checked. So he decided to take the afternoon off in lieu of doing it today. So that leaves him with 17 work days. Next week he meets with the financial guy who dh is intrusting with our $$$$$.

Dh says that he has had a lot of guys asking him if he is scared. That answer is no, he is more than ready to retire. He told me tonight that after the 1 week of doing what he wants, he plans to do the work on the house as if it's a job. He wants everything done by the end of April. So I/we need to get the flooring figured out.

Dh asked if I wanted to go on a road trip this weekend. He wants to go to a city 4 hours south of us, to look at enclosed trailers. He has decided he wants one to use when he takes the motorhome on a solo trip and he can take his bike. I told him that I have too much to do to get ready for company next week and Christmas, but he was welcome to go. So he is.

Dd2's dh is in deer hunting mode. He won't be available to watch the girls this weekend so she can shop. I am tempted to tell her how much I have left to spend on each of her kids and then I can watch the girls and she can shop for her and me.

I have accomplished next to nothing this week, so I have to buckle down and get with the program.

I sure miss my computer. Dh didn't notice that my hard drive wasn't in place and I didn't mention it either. Since it all started with me trying to help dm find an alternate bus route, I decided to leave well enough alone. He wouldn't care about the money but he would care about the reason it happened. I labeled all of the cords so that I can hook it up, instead of needing help.

We are getting rain and it is so exciting to have gutters. It doesn't take a lot to make me happy.....

Guess I better check my bs and get to bed.
