Me too, Twins, and I've been taking biotin for years. Hopefully it's not as bad as it could have been?

I've elected not to be in the great room while the guys watch the news. Just don't think I can stomach any of the repeated newscasts about the little girl being thrown over the bridge by her father. Saw enough this morning and felt for the newscasters as I could see many of them were very teary eyed and having a hard time holding it together. Know there's a lot of bad news out there, but this just seemed to really get to them (and all of us).

Hi all! I don't remember what or when I last posted, but I got home from work about 55 minutes ago. After class, I talked to my supervisor re: downloading some test-generating software, and then I picked up ds en route home. He left his toiletries and some other odds and ends at our home when he moved back to campus on Tuesday, so he came home to pick up his stuff.

I never went back to bed this morning. I responded to a long update via fb message from a friend from the time we lived in TX. Her kids are similar in age to mine. She's now in NH. The response took much longer than I thought. I really should not have written so much, but now it's done. Maybe I'll see her if I help move ds in or out of his place in Boston this summer. . .

I am very tired right now. Dfriends A, R, and S will be here soon for dinner.

Yes, it is very cold here, blessed, but not as cold as last January! I think the high today was 9*. Right now , it is 2*. We're forecast to get 1-3 inches snow tonight. We'll see if that happens. I don't know if my hens came out today. I heard them rustling around this a.m. so I think they're still alive. I'll go shut their door pretty soon. they do have a heat lamp in their coop.

-----Well, this sat here while I chatted with dh. He called from the Austin airport, and he has gotten on an earlier flight. I just hope he can land if there's going to be snow here.

I have put leftovers in the oven and have rice going. I'm going to make a quick small pan of cornbread to go with the leftovers. Dfriend A is bringing a salad, I believe. I don't really feel like socializing, so I hope this goes OK. Maybe they'll all socialize with each other.

Hello, villagers ~
Getting to my morning and afternoon meetings was an adventure. We were predicted to have frigid temps all day with trace amounts of snow to start in the evening. Instead, the snow hit this morning and I drove to The Big City in almost white-out conditions on the highway. Driving conditions were no better in The City. :|

Although both meetings were long, they went very, very well. The new new sewing group president has her act together. Last year's leader who caused so many problems is still on the board as a committee chair, but might not stay the whole year.

I stopped briefly at Sam's on the way home to pick up a few groceries.
The snow has stopped but the wind is still really strong.
I got home shortly after 4:30.

Good thing I checked the answering machine right away. Tonight's meeting has been rescheduled to Monday morning. :) I had all of my stuff prepared for the meeting, but I'm fine with not having to go back out into the cold. :)

Now I can take care of my action items from the earlier meetings right away tonight without having to stay up late.

I'll cuop later. I have everything in from the car. Now I need some hot food. Lunch was a small fiber1 bar and a glass of water -- better than nothing but clearly not enough.

Harmony - my day had 2 outings with normal weekly activities starting again, lots of phone calls. I'm seeing my dds and dgks week after next for extended family time. Probably visit art gallery with them, and dgd4 will have a sleep over with her fav cousin 12 who will be the source to comfort if needed, as the idealising connection is there, not with her aunt or me.

Today I'm using my page flipping version of 5x3 cards. Yoga mats being washed atm. But I still need to do this getting ready for the day page I've stalled on. to dress, brush hair, make bed, washing away.
No maybe the 2nd mat can get started in its time in the sun before I do that. I need the fan back on too.

Sounds like fun, Lynlee!

Helper who called in sick called, worried about DH not having help today. He has a few hours' work tomorrow but will use the other guy and told him to stay home and get better over the weekend and hopefully come back this next week. I guess he was worried about his job too. This is refreshing! We haven't had a worker in a long while who was concerned about his job or mindful of our need for them to be conscientious.

The flu is bad in Florida. We are one of the worst states for this outbreak.

I was well enough to download some 2015 forms and get new helper signed up. IRS withholding chart for this year isn't available yet, not that I could find. They are always late with that.

I was well enough to get the kitchen cleaned up, gather up all the papers and process some of them, sort mail, and reconcile a bank statement and work on the last spreadsheet. I went to supermarket and got DH's lunch for tomorrow and some "sick" food for me, pudding, soup etc.

Wow, you guys are really cold.
Heard about the bridge thing on a radio program while I was out, but our news down here just had a short story about it. Just outrageous. I hadn't thought about it, but they are checking to see if that child was alive when he threw her over or if she died after. Oh, just so wrong.

Editing to add: my DGS and DD are on a class college field trip. They went up the East Coast of FL, up into Georgia, down into the Panhandle, over to Alabama. Yesterday they were at Auburn! They're posting pictures at each place on Facebook!

I only got a twilight sleep in my recliner for 1/2-hour this morning, stayed up all day, from waking at 2:15 a.m. and after DH returned from the retirees' luncheon, I napped on and off in my chair and recliner, both. I'm exhausted, will not nap this evening, so I'll be able to sleep tonight. :)

DH did a wonderful, tender, and delicious pork roast with mashed potatoes. We weren't hungry for anything additional. He's eaten a large late lunch at the restaurant. He learned that 3 retirees had passed away, since his last month's luncheon. He seemed stunned about the news, too. He had me email our dfriends, who are retirees, too, to let them know. They live out of town, by quite a bit of distance and don't get here in the city that often.

It remains cloudy here, but dry, and it's so nice we're not freezing. I feel badly for everybody caught in this terrible deep freeze, too. Warm hugs to you all!

My right hand is all cracked and sore, because of the pump hand soap I'm using in our master bathroom. I'm going to get the 1 from under the sink, in the main/guest bathroom, for my sink in our bathroom! I found some Vaseline Intensive Care lotion, which heals in layers. I think this will do the trick quite nicely!

I worked on sorting the main office box of my papers and I see about 3" of bare box sides now! :P This was 2nd day, with no letters or b-day cards. But we got mail. Maybe tomorrow or Saturday, we'll hear from some of my pen pals. :?: Hope so.

Been working on a crocheted hat for DGS turning 6 in Feb. and after it's done, I'll do DGD (turned 2 today!) a dress. I'm glad they love crocheted gifts. ;)

Have a good night, Everyone! Waving to you all! :D For those in the deep freeze, try to stay warm and stay safe. My heart goes out to you ALL! We've been in ice storms, etc... and once it was 5* below zero, without the wind chill, here in W. WA State. I remember how difficult that way, but with kids at home, I tried to make it an adventure, instead of a grudge match. I made it fun, which was challenging for me, but it was a joy for all of us, too.

The bug guy called today and wanted to know when he could spray the house. I don't think he was very happy but I told him any time after Monday. So he will come Tuesday. I knew I didn't want to clean today and I have a drs. appointment Monday morning. Between now and then I plan to get this place cleaned.

Once the numbness wore off, I could feel how rough the inside edges of the temporary bridge are. I watched her make it and it was like she was using tooth colored P lay D oh.

I took a long nap this afternoon. I don't usually take naps but since I have been sick, I have been taking naps.

I need to grocery shop tomorrow.

Today while I was napping, it got up to 50 here. Wish I would have known that because I could have quickly shoveled the drive.

I am dreading my Monday drs. appointment. This is my first appointment since he lost his 32 yr old dd to a G rand M al seizure, less than 2 months ago.

Dh went backwards again today. This flu sure knocked us off course.
