Re: shapewear. When I put on my 1-piece swimsuit, I notice the shape slimming up. However, I don't really have any rolls, just extra inches places. I do hate hip hugger trousers, find them so uncomfortable. I like ones that come just barely below my belly button. Those fit best. But I have ones that come up higher, and they are very comfortable, but I wear my shirts out so who knows that but me? I suppose the books say not to wear elastic either. I like elastic, but the flat all around type, not the type that causes gathers in the material. Those add inches to the look I think. But what do I know. If I'm that uncomfortable in my clothing, it's time to lose weight, not try to camouflage.

And since being ill and losing this last bits of weight, my brand new bras no longer fit. I was thinking this might happen. So, I am back into my old ones. I guess that's not a bad thing.

Been hard at the work around here. Got another couple statements done. And another proposal. Had troubles with my email program, when I attached a file to the email, stuff went instantly to my draft folder and there was no send button at all. After trying it 3 times with the same results, I logged out and then back in and the button reappeared. I do not understand stuff like this at all.

Watching the weather channel. Very pretty, but I'm sure glad I'm not there. We had the fireplace going all day. At least it makes the family room warm.

I could keep going at my work, but that would probably make me unproductive tomorrow, so I'm going to call it a day here.

thinking of yall too.

Today I bundled up the smaller bras I bought whenever. Maybe one day they will fit again. It'll be good not to have them cut me in 2.
re underpants style - remember the elastic made bulges for wherever the elastic frequently lies.
I'm needing to think again re style and size for those as well. I just want cotton so the elastin/lycra component doesn't give up, and sizing seems all wrong. underwear and outer wear sizing is not the same here. grrrr.
Here - people call flip flops thongs. Not that I wear either sort.

I'm with Elizabeth. Comfort front and center always. I wear makeup only if I feel the need for war paint protection.

Blessed that is interesting about the dyslexia and the foot pain. I know I was in the continual pain group when experts thought that should be over group, and the pain meds seemed to me not to help. I wonder if they consider that 25% of people have dyslexia and if there really is too many. It does turn up with many other problems very often though. Creativity is a given.
Just begin.
Living this day, today
Take a reality check; Remember to breathe; Do what I am able to do.
Look for the good in all.

I wear extremely comfortable clothes 6.5 days out of 7 and have no reason to dress up and reason to dress down (I need extra layers because I'm walking outside or less layers because I'm biking places.) When I'm on the ship, I love to dress up if only to remind myself that I can.

If it takes $60 of underwear to silence the voice in my head that is constantly saying "You are fat, old and ugly." then so be it. I'll shall fake it until I make it. And in the meantime, the binding clothing will remind me to stand up straight, move slowly and gracefully, and take smaller portions of food.

Dh was pleased that this year at least the sari blouse can be done up. I'm still not sure if I'll pop the hook & eyes and it is tight in the sleeves and the shapewear won't help with that. But if it can pull me in enough that I'm not worried about the hooks & eyes, then dh will be able to proudly wear his green Nehru jacket and all eyes will be on us.

The pants are the sort that the books were talking about - using technical materials to look ones best. I didn't realize they were so affordable. I paid $40 a pair and they don't need any special underwear. And they seemed comfortable, although I will admit, I forgot to sit down in them which might be a strategic error. What I really loved about them is how they made the tops look so much better. Since I was trying them on at a different store, I didn't have the shapewear on underneath but the tops suddenly went for ok, to stunning.

Dh and I had a late dinner. The shepherd's pie took forever to heat up (I think because he left the lid on but he does that to keep the moisture in.) His conference call is over now. I've got the kitchen cleaned up and just finished some decaf tea since I wanted something warm.

I forgot to pick up grapefruit while I was out today so won't have any for the morning unless I get up early and go for a walk before breakfast.

Just a quick C. I. here. Been to the dentist, had 2.5 hours in the chair, to get a new Cerec crown put on. It's great! There is no temporary and running back to get a permanent one put on. It's all done, right there, via digital computer, and carves it out of the block of Cerec. :P

I'm very, very tired. Went to Target to redeem a gift card. Bought a very nice-looking terra-cotta colored leather purse. I love it.

Going to get ready for dinner soon! Have a nice evening, Everybody! :D Waving at you all!

TTFN. ;)

Hello Dear Ladies,

Have to brag a little, we had a wonderful sunny day with temps in the 70's. 8-) 8-)

Have to add to the underwear discussion and say I like the boy cut panties for ladies. They are comfortable and no elastic by the upper leg area.

Have done two dsons taxes.

Did the kitchen clean-up today as well as laundry room and bathrooms. I am on a roll.

Looks like DH is home finally from a long service call.

Went into the bedroom earlier to lay on the bed and read. That was quickly turning into a nap with one of the cats curled up against me and purring her head off... I heard the clock at 2 p.m. and then Wayne is standing at the side of the bed telling me it was 5:30. As I turned to look at the clock, I was thinking it was awfully bright out for 5:30, and sure enough it wasn't even 3 yet. Wayne had come home because he is sick again/still. Same sneezing and other symptoms. ~sigh~

He is lathered up with Vicks and in bed.

Hello, villagers ~
Today's adventures:

* 8:30 a.m. meeting at the library to work with 2 other party volunteers. One of them brought in several embroidered lace fabrics, which we cut across to make 9" wide scarves.
* While we were cutting scarves, we locked in some more plans for the event, gathered supplies, made a shopping list of what we still need.
* Once the scarves were done, 1 woman had to leave but I had paper fans in my bag ready to be covered with construction paper, so the 2nd woman stayed to help me finish gluing those.
* This crafty stuff always takes so much longer than I think it will! I didn't leave the library until noon.

* After lunch, received an Email from someone in the library group who does not like the way the program I typed looks. I made the changes she asked for and sent out the 2nd draft; received the reply that she wants to make some more alterations herself. Fine by me, as long as it's permanently off my list! 8-)

* General chores this afternoon. It felt good to think about something NOT the library. ;)

* Packed a tote bag with dish towels and cleaning supplies. There are enough glass plates and tea cups in the basement storage room at the library for our party (75 sets), but they all need to be washed. I said I would do those Thursday because once clean, they need to be left out on the working counter. The job can't be done any earlier because another group will be in the big room tomorrow night and they need to use the counter. The dishes are all vintage sets and probably not dishwasher safe even if someone wanted to carry them all up the stairs to take home, which no one wanted to do -- too heavy!

* Ironed an apron because I might want to wear one to serve food at the party, and certainly will want one for party clean-up.

* Tonight I spent a couple hours on sewing group paperwork.

Now I'm going to try to figure out some little table decorations for the party. I can do that while I watch the 2nd half of an old movie, a Joan Blondell comedy from the 1930s. Will try to get to bed relatively early since tomorrow will be just as busy as today was.

BookSaver, I remember those glass plate and teacup sets from my younger days. I wish I could come to your libraries Fancy Nancy tea party. I hope you have a great turnout and that they appreciate all the work that went into planning it and carrying through with those plans.

It got up to 79 today. I have cleaned the leaves from under the bushes that are by the street. I still have 3 to do that are close to the house. Two of them are surrounded by landscaping rocks, so I wanted to blow those off. My blower is battery operated and was dead by the time I got to them. Tomorrow is suppose to be nice again. Then we have a chance of snow Friday night, into Saturday. Well it was nice while it lasts.

Today dd2 took the Goldendoodle to be trimmed. When dgd18 picked him up, the gal had cut his hair so short that you could see pink skin. She was suppose to pluck the hair from his inner ears and did not do that either. I guess that is really important for this breed. She had also done a terrible job on his nails. So dd2 found another groomer and she did the ears and worked on the nails. Then dd2 went and bought him some "shirts". She said that she put one on him that was a hoodie and he didn't want her to take it off.

The baby back ribs were delicious. Dh had grilled hamburgers for us on Saturday. I had read a hint recently and tried it with success. When you make your hamburger patties, poke a hole in the center with your finger. The burgers do not shrink much and it helps them to cook through with no pink centers.

Dh has went 8 days without smoking. I hope it is permanent but with him, I won't hold my breath. But he is so happy and relaxed since he retired. He has really gotten into his FB page in the last week or so. He has been putting a daily retirement joke on there. Today one of my close high school friends commented that she looks forward to his daily joke.

I had bought the girls and I each a Valentine's Day dish towel. It says I love you. I also made them each a bag of Chex Mix. I had taken dd2s to her, but dd1 stopped on her way home. They both really liked them and dd1 hugged me. She is not normally a hugger.

I probably better check my bs and head to bed. It was running lower than I like it to be before bedtime, so I had a snack and waited to see if it will go up.
