I took LO and DGD4 to the park to run and play to lower their energy level. I was already over 10k steps so I didn't need any more exercise.
It is now after 6pm and the contractors are still running heavy equipment in front of our house. I am allowing screen time on a school night because we are captive in the house.....and I'm being lazy.

Re: "May the Fourth" be with you - Wednesday
Frustrating late afternoon.
Because the work on books wasn't going well, I switched to cleaning. The cleaner didn't do a good job at all. There is grease on the floors of two bathrooms (as well as wall, tub, etc.) and all over our bedroom floor. She'd know that if she had mopped the floors but she didn't.
I thought she just hadn't vacuumed so when I went to vacuum up the stuff, including a screw and copper wire, I discovered the grease. Had to vacuum out the tubs etc. which weren't cleaned at all, just the sink and the mirror and the top of the toilet.
She mopped the plaster dust on the floor but didn't vacuum first (no vacuum) so the floors all hazy now. I'll have to wash it myself.
Dh has written to complain about the terrible job and asked them to send someone tomorrow to clean up the grease.
I dusted the bedroom well and vacuumed it and the bathrooms. Will clean my tub tonight before I put the shower curtain back up. Dh cleaned the grease off it with Fantastic but on the tile floors that isn't working (they are porous compared to the tub.) Vacuumed the living room and front hall and gave the front hall its first dust (it will get a second one tomorrow.)
Ds came over to do laundry so we went out for burgers (same place as Cathy went the other night, for the same deal plus movie card points) and then he and I did the walking club. So I have my steps in for the day.
While ds and I were folding laundry, dfs called so we sat and talked with him. He has another couple of days at sea and then a long time home. He's bought a second car (same as ds's but 2 years newer.) While we were on the phone, I started work on the expenses again. Looks like they'll be pretty straightforward now that I have some food in me.

Just came inside now. Off to CUOP!
Did you go to get burgers Kathryn? They seemed very crowded when we went in, but we got a table no problem. There is a chicken place that does takeout through the same doors and they were also busy.
When we got home from dinner dh decided to weed around the 4 Hostas in the front that are just surfacing now. We also have tulips coming up in 3 of the 6 bulb things dh planted last fall. We will certainly plant more this fall. Dh is talking about planting a rose bush out front. He is certainly happy to be able to get down in the dirt and improve the look of things. Taking out thistles and dandelions with his bare hands. We left at least 100 other dandelions in the front yard.
Spoke to my sister and texted with dd today. Drove to Niagara Falls and back with 8 different stops. Dropped of batteries at a large electronics place that has a huge bin inside the front door. Dropped off a lot of towels and facecloths at the animal shelter and looked at the cats and kittens. This is the first time that I haven't looked at the dogs. Dropped of books at one place and bought a few books at another place. I still need to drop off pillowcases at one of the charity shops in town. The shelter doesn't take them.

Cathy: dh and I had the 2 for $9.99 special and ds had the Angus combo so I could get 100 Scene points (1/10th of free movie ticket.) I now have 3 free tickets at Cineplex. Nothing worth going to see but when there is, I won't have to pay.
Got the Rent Review email list updated (had 18 new requests to be added to the list) and sent an email saying the hearing has been set for June 10, and reminding them I'm next available for a meeting at 4 p.m on May 15. We'll see if they organize themselves before hand. That still gives us just enough time to go through the 1000 pages and figure out whether the landlord has a case. This rent increase adds up to $1800 a year for me, so it is worth my time to fight it back if I can. The last time, they got an easy roll-back because the landlord claimed for work that wasn't allowed. This time I can't see us being that lucky.
Next up, bed since I have to work on returning things to my bedroom and bathroom and have dh put up my shower curtain.

Re: "May the Fourth" be with you - Wednesday
Today I picked up dgd5 early from daycare. She wanted to be able to pick up her dsis6 and walk her home with me. After dd2 got home from track practice, I then walked home. A 1/2 block from her house, I stumbled and fell. My palms were scuffed, my left knee has 2 bloody scrapes and the right knee has a bump and is bruising. Of course, my whole body feels jarred. As far as I know, no one seen me, because there wasn't a car moving in my sight and no one walking. It really upset me because I try to be so careful. As I was falling, face first, I kind of flipped sideways to my left, so instead of face planting on a concrete sidewalk, my shoulder hit the grass. My left wrist hurts but I can move everything. Just don't need any more injuries around this house.
