DH appt with family doctor was a success this morning. The doc agreed with our treatment request. DH has now lost 47 lbs since he was switched from Metformin to Ozempic for diabetics.
DH, DD11 and I went to the city this afternoon to get a prescription. While there we did a small pantry/freezer restock, filled up the gas tank and tried to find noise canceling headphones for DD11. We were unsuccessful in finding nc headphones for DD11. She tried a few of the headphones that were on display, but they all were uncomfortable. Noise canceling headphones are so expensive and I am clueless about them. I am hesitant to order some for her because it feels like I am trying to pin the tail on the donkey while blindfolded. There is almost no chance of success.
I was successful in achieving 250 steps in 12 out of 12 hours today. I have over 10k steps with no exercise. The change the hourly 250 steps has made in my daily step count is astounding to me.

LadyM: I have 3M WorkTunes ear protection instead of noise cancelling headphones because I'm frugal. I used to have noise cancelling and they wore out. These are about 1/4 the price. They are bluetooth so I can still use them to play music to cover over the noise from construction here. Nowadays, I just use them when I'm vacuuming and listening to a podcast. But I don't even connect them to my phone, I use my cordless ear buds and then put the the Worktunes over top, not turned on.
I find them heavy to wear so would get headaches back during the concrete drilling when I was needing them hours a day (as well for the one day of the Occupation when the trucks were below us and blasting their horns for hours.) But there were not much, if at all, heavier than my old noise cancelling ones. So I fully understand dd not finding them comfortable. There are in-ear noise cancelling headphones that work, but not really awful noise like construction. They might work for her.
I've finished the Christmas Eve bulletin and sent it off for proof reading. The service is all planned out but I still have to write a sermon and the prayers.
Still, I'm off to bed earlier than I thought I might be.
I shoveled off the last batch of snow off the driveway to keep my back limbered up. 1-3 more inches tonight possible.

For some reason, I am having so much trouble getting myself geared up to wrap presents! I guess bc I don’t have everything bought and I feel overwhelmed?
And I didn’t call in the bar-b-que order today, either. Had dgrands all day and spent a couple hours busy with/for dmom. And tomorrow will be more of the same.
Good news is dmom is feeling much better so UTI may have cleared up with OTC meds.
Okay… promising — I will call for bbq FIRST thing tomorrow
And I will wrap 5 presents right now. At least.

(Dee) Yes there's storms coming up north. My DGS coming from Wisconsin is concerned he won't be able to get out of Madison the end of the week.
I only got two different kinds of cookies made. I was procrastinating doing them because I really didn't want to. I guess I should really talk with DD about not doing them next year. It really is too much. All afternoon on my feet....
It's not going so well here. A couple weeks ago our atomic clock quit working. DH checked the batteries, the clock's were fine and the sending unit was ok too. So he put the clock in the window facing the direction of the signal (it comes from Colorado) and that usually works after being in that place for a couple days. So when it connected and started working, we put it back up on the wall. Both DH and I look at that clock several times daily. I'm not as bad as he is, but I use it to keep track of the date and the outside temperature. I usually know which day it is, no trouble with that. He, on the other hand, often forgets what day it is. Yesterday after waking from a nap didn't know what day it was. I reminded him we'd gone to church, so it was Sunday. Oh, yeah. I like to know the outside temperature so that I know how to dress. The day and date is showing up but not the outside temperature. We've had this clock for almost 15 years and love it. They don't make these units with all this information any more, at least we've been unable to find one like it.
And DH came home... saying he'd lost his phone somewhere. He tried to get it to ring, not in truck, not anywhere in the house.... and he must have left his cooler at the job also because he didn't have that with him either. He seemed very foggy and I asked him if he was having a bad day and he said no (he usually will tell me if that's happening) but I'm not so sure. Right now one of his hearing aids is not working, and I guess we need to send it off to get battery checked...which we did maybe last year sometime (need to check that date). His are rechargeable and should have lasted longer than this. Without his hearing aid, he really is way more foggy about everything.
All of this happening right before Christmas and I'm just at my wits end with it all. There's no way to get the aid fixed in time, last time we had to send it off to Colorado somewhere and they sent it back...and with the slow mail now, it'll never be back or even get there on time. They have to send us a special box to send it in first. I wish they'd just fix it in the audio clinic in the VA place, which is just south of us...
Need to finish those cookies tomorrow. I cleaned up all the dishes from that and they're ready to go tomorrow. I should just get an early start and not procrastinate and get 'er done. I hope I can sleep tonight with all this on my mind.
And of course, (((Dee))) -- praying that all goes well and Mr. Dee is safely back under the same roof as you ASAP!
And (((Elizabeth))) -- I am so sorry about your dmom. Definitely can relate to "where are my brothers?" In my case, only one brother... but boy... he is great with moral support and sympathy, and offers to "come home now if you need me" -- but he's certainly a long way away when the going gets tough.
And (((Twins)))... husbands... Of course, here the problem is becoming the fact that he is so scared he WON'T be able to go and do all the things he wants to do.
In fact, tonight, he is VERY sick -- and thinks the antibiotic is causing it, but whatever the cause... he is miserable and he hopes this is not his last Christmas. I don't mean to be flippant about it, but I have never seen anyone so pessimistic and it is really hard to be the encourager all the time.
So glad Nancy's heat is back on! That's a BIG HOORAY in these temps!
Also glad to hear LordM is doing well and getting good reports from doctor!
I came in to report that I wrapped EIGHT presents. Also have three more in boxes, but may need to add to those boxes, so they are back in the closet.
Also ironed all dh's clean clothes, washed two loads of clothes, and had dgrands all day until after supper.
Lots of Nana-duty this week, because both dgrands have doctor's appts, and will alternate staying with us while the other goes to the doctor. Nothing major -- eye doctor for her, dermatologist for him. * Duplixen (sp?) is working wonders for his excema, btw. I just pray he has no serious side effects from it.
Daughter-duty tomorrow... I certainly hope all that goes smoothly too.
