*sigh* It’s been a day. (skippable rant follows)

Fell back asleep this morning; when I woke up again, it was time to get DC up. They needed a shower, so I couldn’t hop in right away. By the time they were done, there was maybe enough time that I could hop in and be ready in time to leave, but I didn’t want to chance it. I figured I had plenty of time to do that when I got home.

Got DC dropped off and came home. Showered and dressed, and when I was loading my pockets, I discovered that my pedometer battery had died. No problem; I had one in a little divided box right there in my room. Got the battery put in and went to put the box away and managed to drop it. Unfortunately, the box also contained pills and earrings, which scattered all over the floor. So by the time I was s2s, made the bed, cleaned my CPAP, and cleaned up the floor, it was time to go get DC.

I sent a text to let them know I was running a little late, but I got there just 10 minutes after their class let out. So I sent a text and waited…then sent another and waited some more… rinse and repeat. After about 45 minutes, I decided (and texted) that I was going to go to the Sheetz up the street and get lunch. I had just finished my grilled cheese with bacon (yum!) when I got a text… from DD, who was wondering why we weren’t back home yet. Went back to the college and texted DC again with no response. (I’d tried calling, too, in hopes of causing sufficient vibration to get them to notice.) By this point, I was thinking they must have forgotten their phone or run out of juice. So I parked in the short-term lot and headed in to check the cafeteria. I was just about there when my phone rang…. It was DH. I told him it wasn’t a good time and I’d call him back. Checked out the cafeteria — no luck. Went back to the car and figured when DC wanted to come home, they could borrow a phone… and wait till DH could come get them, because I was done. Got to the car and took a minute to call DH, when I was interrupted by a text from DC! Turns out they had been on the upper level of the cafeteria in a two-hour conversation with their humanities professor! Finished the conversation with DH; DC got to the car, and we went home. My 45-minute errand had taken 3 hours.

Once we got home, I decided to curl up under a blanket and watch Jeopardy reruns. I was done. DH cooked dinner, then we went to a prayer service at church I was asked to read for, and all I have done after that is watch TV and write this post.

Time to channel my inner Scarlett (hoping not to step on lucylee’s toes ;) ) : tomorrow is another day.
