I’ve tried on two pairs of jeans that I wanted to wear on my trip and they are too big even with a belt! Now I need to see if I can find some other ones in my closet that fit. I know I have a pair I wear all the time but would like to find another pair. It’s a very causal trip in which I only plan to wear jeans and sweaters. No need for any thing else

RR - jeans too big is a good "problem" to have. BWTG!

I am still battling low energy and no desire to do anything. I have made a switch the last couple of days to 80% of my calories coming from turkey broth. This is not a long-term change but just trying to eliminate anything that is influencing my low energy.

Maybe. Just maybe. I am pulling out of my low energy experience.

I woke up this morning wanting to get started. There have been several recent days when I had to make myself get dressed. Not today though! I took a shower & washed hair before going out the door for a morning mile walk.

DH is confused this morning. He didn't sleep well, can't regulate his body temp and doesn't know what day it is.
DS16 is being a less than perfect teenager. We have already had 3 conversations with opposite opinions this morning.
DD13 is sick running 100F temp.

Life is far from being perfect but I'm feeling upbeat. Oh, I am so very hopeful that I will continue to feel better and pull myself out of this no energy dark valley.

I am going to do another day of broth. I am not losing weight by 80% of my calories coming from broth but I am feeling better.

I have hope.

LasyM…
You sure have a lot of things going on in your life at the moment. Has your dh seen a neurologist yet? There might be some meds he could suggest that will help him. These types of drs deal with this type of situations all the time and have been most helpful with information and solutions for Sweetie that our family dr could not supply.

I went to class and just finished my morning oatmeal. I did find 2 pair of jeans that now fit and will take them with me while I’m in NJ. Off to my coffee gathering and no jelly donut for me :D:

I had a good day yesterday and this new “old” way of eating is really agreeing with me. Simple, but easy peasy with no cravings. No one is more surprised than me :D:

Has your dh seen a neurologist yet?
Not directly. DH test results were sent to a big city neurologist, and he consulted with small hospital doctors.
I took DMom to two different neurologist for decades for Parkinson treatment. I don't have anything against neurologists and will absolutely use them when/if needed. However, the best treatment came from family doctors that knew her personality, lifestyle along with complete medical history.
DH was given dementia test by outside medical personnel (referred by family doctor). DH passed the tests that indicated that he doesn't have dementia.
I am absolutely all in on getting DH the best medical care possible. However, I want to balance that desire with realistic expectations and honor DH wishes.
Yesterday DH didn't know what year or day it was. He didn't remember how to administer his weekly Ozempic shot in stomach. He didn't know where the clean clothes and clean dishes went.
Today he is back to normal. He knows how to do all those things he couldn't remember or do yesterday.
I am still pointed fingers are two possible causes.
1 - Getting overheated (working in 100F temps)
2 - Overstimulation
DH helped set up and serve approx 300 people at church Thanksgiving meal. He enjoyed every moment of it but after it was over he acknowledged that it felt mentally overwhelming for him. A few hours later he lost his short-term memory.
WOW. This was a longer answer than I expected to do. It was an effective way for me to think through and put what is happening into words.

I am doing another day of 80% of calories coming from turkey broth. I have plenty of broth available and each day I am feeling better. It feels like the mental & emotional weights that were holding me down are being lifted. Feeling good brings pleasure and that is addictive. I don't want to return to that no energy blah space I was sliding into. I am doing everything I know to find my way out of it.

And more good news!

When dh got his flu/COVID shots this a.m. at CVS he told the pharmacist that my script was "backordered" and she actually had one! She said if it wasn't promised she would fill it for me, and she did! So I can go ahead today and take the little injection and perhaps start this journey!

Thank you LadyM for your explanation. I find when Sweetie gets overstimulated he too gets confused. Need to keep an eye on him while traveling.

Twins… happy for you!

I continue with my focus on consuming broth. I am not losing weight, but it is helping with feeling better and increasing my energy level.
I have currently lost 2.5lbs this month so probably won't meet my 4lb weight loss goal. With it being the final week PLUS holiday meals the chances are very slim that I will lose 1.5lbs this week. I don't like not meeting my goal, but in the long term it is worth not sliding into depression.
