After the New Year, I know I am going to have to really push to get the carpenter out here to finish my ceiling and shower floor, before I have a skylight and new access to crawlspace.

-- [x] Got small living Christmas tree and decorations, took to cemetery. DH's stone is not expected until maybe February, but I wanted to do something for Christmas. I sometimes have misgivings about stone; maybe I should have done something a little less traditional/simple... but I think that is how dh would have chosen, and that is what his parents' and other relatives' stones are like, which will be surrounding his. I'll be glad when I finally see it.

I hope the rain finally stops tomorrow. Twins, I think our weather has been about the same. It's been unseasonably warm, and I don't remember when the sun was out for more than five minutes at a time. It was finally feeling a little more like it should be for this time of year when we left church tonight.
LadyM, I know there is a lot of interruption in your day, but I think it is so wonderful that ds wants to talk to you so much. I know I have driven my dmom crazy a lot of times, but I'm so thankful she has always been here to listen to me obsess about whatever happened to be my current crisis.
Now -- it's more likely dmom who is going to be calling me at odd times. At least twice while I was in Wmart. Needed me to try to get in touch with doctor and pharmacy. She kept getting busy signal -- I was close enough to make in-person contact (but barely had time.) She has NO PATIENCE at all with busy signals! She did finally get the pharmacy, and I made the in-person stop at doctor's office.
Blessed, I have people who are supposed to treat yard for fire ants every three months. I am going to tell them that the last time they came, the treatment was not as effective as it has been in previous times. It is so aggravating. I never know when these people are here either -- they schedule a time, but they are always in and out before I know it and they leave a notice on the door.
So glad you had some time away from caregiving. Everyone needs to recharge and -- yes -- be a bit lazy
every once in a while. It is NOT a term I would associate with you as a general rule, I can assure you!And re: the nausea meds, Harriet, I rely on the same one for the nervous stomach nausea I have sometimes, and dh leaned on it very much after the kidney scare. The thing is, in dh's case, it was not so much nausea (I don't think) as it was just anxiety. I told him those tiny pills would always take away my nausea enough that I could sleep -- but it could be that they just calmed me down enough that the anxiety that CAUSED the nausea would go away. With my stomach, it is definitely a "which came first" question -- the nausea or the nerves?
At any rate, I believe for both of us, they worked within 30 minutes to an hour, but I'd say always less than an hour.
Nancy, everything I've ever seen of Ken Burns has been exceptionally well done!
