enjoy your run d helia!
yay on your done work! ta da DONE!

mom is better - her spirit is good again, but has not changed into new cloths

dd older hasn't been here so she hadn't seen the improvement from the time she left until she came back and she saw mom today at her worst. She was great yesterday - best that I have seen in years. She said she would be better off in Florida - that she is more independent -

I saw what she was like when she first came back - she didn't eat/drink on her own - meds -dd took very good care of her. but she is a young person who needs a future. there was no way she can take her meds without messing it up - dd had to hide her meds so she didn't take too many or not at all. Not at all is common with mom - she thinks she has had them when she hasn't. she can't tell you what the day is or year. in Florida mom also washed and rewashed the same laundry over and over - as well as empty out cabinets, tossing things that belonged to dd's dog and separating things into different containers over and over again.

I am surprised dd's can't see that as a problem.

- I won't let dd younger be her "care helper" any more even though they all wanted it.. she is young and needs to continue a career, health and younger person stuff. it's better now than in the future.

- Sunday night we go back to having the care taker at night and maybe see how she does at night on her own. I don't want to do that but I am getting pressure to try. I will be on the camera all night - mom will still have to come here during the day so that she eats, drinks and socializes. It will be hard on me to do the am pick up and night time drop off but if mom does well with it then I will be okay with it. It will be at her house again.

the only way mom could go back to Florida is with a caregiver most of the day. she can be on her own a few hours at a time - most times.

I have cared for my mom's parents (her dad started with Alzheimer s late 89 and then his early 90's. my dads mom - I cared for her daily for two years at her house but she ate and drank - I can see my mom going through some of the same issues that I saw previously in my dear family members. My great aunt had it as well but I wasn't her caretaker but I remember her on my visits. dh's great aunt got it as well but she was in her 90's.

dh doesn't want mom here -he wants pure quiet. I helped take care of his mom with his sisters for years. I was so happy to do it. back then, I said his mom could live here as well but with all of us it was good that we split it up.

I honestly don't know what to do. I don't think I am making it up in my mind. my heart says no Florida- dd's say I am hurting mom by not sending her to Florida. they want me to keep an open mind.

Blessed… I get what you’re saying abt your mom. This sometimes happened with Sweetie. A while back I noticed he was rewearing his underwater. I solved that problem by putting clean ones by his sink in the morning. So far showering is not a problem as he does that every morning, but I know that can change at any time.

Sometimes he gets stubborn like your mom when I ask him to do something. I’m learning to let things go.

Will your mom drink flavored water? Maybe she would like that better and I know I’m not drinking water like I should be so I am drinking decaf tea, hot or cold, and herbal ones. Maybe that might work

Checking in, I'm upstairs at genealogy desk. It's been a wonderful snow day, even tho I haven't gotten out at all. I napped with the dog - needed to get warm! She doesn't snuggle when it's just me in bed, if we're both in bed she gets between us and is cozy.

I've been upstairs awhile messing around with genealogy stuff. I found another DAR ancestor - not sure if I want to go through the trouble of submitting another supplemental application. There are women who have numerous Rev War ancestors and get all the pins for their ribbon - not sure I'm into DAR enough for that. It would take another proof arguement too.

what a brilliant idea of putting the underwear by the sink - for her - cloths too. brilliant! I will do that tomorrow.
I will try the trying the flavored water - she likes raspberry syrup.
Great advice! I am grateful d rose!

today was a very hard day but she is smiling now - I honestly don't know what started her being so angry and stamping foot frustrated.

I am happy dh was okay today- no frustrations etc. for him.

I put the soup in smaller containers and then washed up the dishes.
Kitchen looks better and so glad I remembered that task.
Next up I Need to fold the last clothes as the dryer is now off. Done.
Rain is done and the sun is shining now.

I don't know if y'all have seen this in the news, but there are Canadian water bombers helping in California. Lots of reels on FBook showing them picking up water from the bay and dumping it on the wildfires.

thank you d cathy for sharing! such brave people these water bombers and fire fighters are! praying for their safety. When we were in the black hills there were water bombers taking water out of a nearby lake and dropping it on the fire a mile away. praying for everyone!
