I'm using the procrastinator crown just now, Bama. I don't even know where my time went, but now we're well into rush hour. The plan was to get out and home before that.

Helia, mmm roast. We are having sort of a fake fall in the mornings before it warms up which makes me crave all of the winter foods… roast, stew, cornbread, chicken and dumplings… I’m drooling now.

Doggedly, you look stunning while you go about your day in the crown. It’s our school rush right now so I know what you mean. Can you go a little later, will the streets empty out some?

Dh called. He has tadas so I’ll list his until I have some lol.
Doctor appt went well. Had invoice printed and dropped off at housing. Now on his way to pu supper.
I have some small tadas, called in food order, talked to inspector who came by after dh had left. Went through some rocks/crystals in box, washed glass balls we made at craft place several years ago to display in curio with Christmas decor, put glass knife in enclosed bookcase with other family memorabilia, deleted emails, dusted glass wheelbarrow with heart stones and put in curio cabinet…

Next up:
Check on rug in washer, if done replace with covers and wash
Make tea
Wash glass houses and put in curio by Santa

Yes, exactly Bama. Our rush hour ends early here, because it starts at three. We are a government town, and a lot of the civil servants work 7-3. I'll head out in about half an hour.
WTG on all that you got done. Those little jobs can take up a lot of time.

Whew! on finding the insurance has been paid, helia.

Sheets are a big one, Lauralind. They take up so much room to dry. Do you have a clothesline? That would make a difference.

Thanks, trissie. I will get to that Costco run eventually. I see that you are well into your evening by now. I hope that DBD's appointment goes well.

I'm glad that the other board is still up, helia. I hope that some of the others will find us here.

Hi, Peaches.

I'm just working my way backward through the posts.

WTG on getting the yarn cupboard decluttered and cleaned, Gma.

What a great first day of school for Little Bit, L.Ann.

all those little jobs do take a bunch of time, for sure! e.g. an hour to put away 2 skeins of yarn (and clean out the cupboard they go in so they'd fit)
bring prayer shawl that's due at church next May, that's already done, up to church so they can store it. Was going to be just a drip off, but there was a little birthday party going on among the staff. They invited me to join, ans about 5 other people happened in to the office, so we had a nice gathering. I "forgot" that I was going to fast to start my diet when the cake was served - made from scratch and homemade ice cream! Just couldn't say no to that! So 5 minutes turned into almost an hour.
New Internet company that I am waiting to subscribe to sent a rep through our neighborhood, so that was a conversation and letting them know to put me on the list to set up service - and the person graciously submitted a form to get mother's yard fixed, because they damaged a good portion of it when they bored under the (new) sidewalk.
Wrapped bday gift for dsis, then USPO didn't recognize her PO Box number - that she has had for 40 years! - so I had to go back home and call her from mother's landline and verify before returning to the PO to let them know to send it there anyhow.
Got my ladder out, sawed down a small diameter branch from my oak tree, that is reaching out over my roof, dropping acorns like bombs, feeding squirrels, filling my rain gutters.
Then moved the ladder to start cleaning out the gutters! My fitbit is on the charger, so I don't konw how many steps I have done, but I have been up and down the ladder many many time! I have 3 more years before I reach the age that we told mother she couldn't use the ladder any more. I checked it out when my brother was here. He stood by me as I went up and down 3 times, and I was comfortable, and he recognized that I did OK.

helian, there is a term for what you have been feeling as your mother has been declining these years - it's called anticipatory grief. I grieved for decades while I was caring for dh, because of all the losses associated with his long illness, and discovered that the actual reality was indeed a different kind of grief. along with some relief too. It's good that you have your mother closer now, and you can be with her as much as possible.

🤗 I’m back

Doggedly, Costco will be there when you’re ready. With Christmas season coming up I may need to stroll the aisles and see what’s new.

Helia, I spent a month copying posts about my girls so I can at some point add them to a planner from the appropriate time. I’m glad I did it and I’m also glad the board is still there for as long as it remains. The people posting there are over here too so they can move over if and when it shuts down. I do hope some that haven’t posted in a while peek in and become aware that everyone has moved. It’s a little different so I understand the adjustment. I’m very grateful for this place to move to and meet new to me she’s. I need to post in other spots to get to know everyone but I get distracted doing something.

Gma, It’s funny how those small jobs become larger ones. Now you have tackled a large job and can feel good about it.

Now what? I’m sure I’ll find something. Bbl.

Busy day here. Everyone is doing so well. Yup I'm sure Costco will be open whenever you get there doggedly.

Gma I'm still impressed with you stable on ladders doing all that physical stuff. Did you get your phone back?

Well I'm getting stuff done but I have everything ripped apart and sometimes that is where it stops. I washed things in weird order and now I'm hoping I didn't do a bad thing washing my pillow top mattress cover. I've been wanting to for a while and it's apparently heavy when it's wet. It stopped cause it doesn't like being unbalanced or something so I had to do it again. The spare bed sheets are in with it. I can remake ds bed.

I started moving things. Went through my yarn bins and found a couple smaller ones to put it in. I need a couple more and then I can sort it by kind and one is little roll ends. I almost went to the store and got a couple bins. I still have the shelving rails . Need the brackets and some shelves then I can sort my yarn and sewing supplies above the desk. I wandered fields and red apple and the only thing I found was a couple fall colors table cloths that will match in my color scheme all year. Gave up and decided to get the shelving at work tomorrow. But I forgot the donate bag . I made myself go bring that in as that was my excuse for going to town lol.

A lot of random odds and ends in that bag. Curtains. My grad dress and my homemade bridesmaid dress from my sister's wedding that she isn't even with him anymore. Belts and dad's old set of lace curtains that I replaced. Lots of random stuff gone😛

He's home from school now. Seems okay he isn't very wordy. Lol. He's happy anyway. I should make his bed and do a few things and then Casper walk. Im going out with my sister friends tonight.
This took too long to write.

Today's tada list

Remake ds bed
Clean desk top and at least put my start of yarn box sorting on the desk straighten master bedroom
I could find a different sheet and remake guest bed
Figure out supper and take meat out
Casper walk

Sweep everywhere
Take bedding off guest bed for wash
Sweep under bed and check floor from cats
Move ds boxes under desk in guest room
Fill thrift store with a few extra things and take to car

Coffee and food
Switch laundry start sheets load
Finish the rest of this cause most of it was talking to dad and dd
Shower
S&s both baths and reboot laundry
Take sheets off bed for wash
Tidy laundry room and make space for the canner pot
Empty and reload dw
Finish tidying kitchen
School run

My mom did that several times helian and then perked back up although I don’t know if that is typical or not. In the end they were talking on Monday that she wasn’t changing and that they were ready to remove her from hospice and then all of the sudden she went down hill and died on Thursday. I think it is hard to tell.

My mom has done that too, L Ann. I remember a conversation I had 2-3 years ago with my school's director. I remember telling him I thought my mom would pass within the next month. She wasn't very alert and wasn't eating much at the time.. . I was so wrong! :) This feels different, I think because of the food pocketing. She couldn't really drink from a straw today when I was there. Did your mother do food pocketing, holding food in her mouth because she can't swallow or she forgot to swallow? All that and yet -- yes, it is still possible she could perk up again! It really seems to cycle up and down.
Bama, the pot roast is for Saturday night with dbro + dniece and hopefully the girls will join too. It's easy to make, not time consuming, and dbro likes it. -Ooh, that's a good idea to grab posts from the other site, kind of like a diary of day-to-day life activities.
WTG on all the random stuff gone, Lauralind!
Gma, I'm impressed that you're out working on a ladder! Be careful! Yes, anticipatory grief and grief that the person she was is gone.

It's 7:40 pm. Dh is out having coffee with a friend. I haven't touched dd27's room yet. I think I'm going to do my duolingo, get my class sorted as much as possible for tomorrow, and read a bit more in the book I'm reading with AC since we're meeting tomorrow. I can get up early and work in dd27's room for an hour before work if I get things prepped tonight.

Next:
- duolingo
- payroll: post reminder of exam tomorrow
- payroll: print out final exams

Later:
- work in dd27's room - 30 minutes
- read more in book for AC
- payroll: post reminders for class
- payroll: print out final exams
- duolingo
- update health apps
- payroll: slides for class tomorrow
- payroll: check any final exam practice exercises turned in

TaDas!
- up and dressed to jog; weighed self
- coffee
- updated groc. list -- I think it's complete now, except for items dbro would like
- email deletions + weather website - high of 80*F today! Rain tonight and tomorrow's high is 65*
- boiled egg
- took LAST doxycycline! (still have the bulls eye but it's faded)
- texts with dd29 -- when is she visiting my mom?
- texts with dbro re: food items -- not particularly helpful. "Surprise me." It's more helpful to us all if dniece doesn't get hangry.
- text to CG2 with prayer requests
- back exercises
- gather stuff
- visit Mom
- jog
- lunch
- payroll: GGT Qs and issues discussed with leadership team
- found pot roast recipe
- Kroger order (forgot several items  )
- checked bank accounts + insurance - yes, we did pay our house ins. (just checking - forgot)
- checked Mom's next appt. w/ geriatrics; I will need to cancel
- reclaimed kitchen
- some qt
- s2s and self care
- squeegee and wipe down shower
- made bed
- dinner: pasta with homemade tomato + mushroom sauce, green salad
- after dinner clean up
- called Walgreens; I think the script will be cleared up. They have it at a 90 day frequency while the Dr. has said a 60 day frequency.

She went through stages with eating but not pocketing that I know of. Her liquids were all thickened to help with swallowing after an evaluation by speech(I think) and she was on a softer diet. She needed to be fed toward the end unless it was dessert. In November when they put her on hospice she wasn’t eating much even when fed and they had trouble giving her meds and getting her to swallow them but she perked back up a bit and didn’t die until July.

I think I am done for the night.
