Hello, everyone!
L.Ann, a holiday in Hawaii sounds lovely!
Helia, I hope you manage to jog and enjoy the sun today. My Auntie used to have a house in Provence, between Nice and Marseille, on the outskirts of what was then a little fishing village called Les Lecques (sp) apparently named after the large flat stones in the cliffs. I can remember walking through fields of lavender and then down a path to the village, which made the best pizza in a traditional stone oven with what appeared to be half a tree inside. Of course there's been lots of building since then.

Nice was nice, I remember, but Marseille was scary, and according to DNeighbour S, who comes from around there, is now best avoided. Back o5n the 1970s, I was told the Mafia tended to hang out there, but apparently now it's more drug gangs.

( not sure how true this is, but from what I remember it's certainly believable!) Aix-en-Provence was also nice, but I haven't been there either for a very long time. I'm sure FFB will have more up to date recommendations!
Trissie, I remember, "sur le pont D'Avignon" from school. Iirc, each verse had different actions for the different characters?
Laura, a family get together sounds lovely!
Bama, I think that poor lady may actually have had a lucky escape. Puppy farms still exist, despite recent legislation, and buying a puppy from one is likely to end in very expensive heartbreak. (Often the puppies have a LOT of very serious health issues, both congenital conditions from inbreeding and also from infections they may have picked up from poor living conditions.) But it's still very disappointing for her. I got the impression when I opened the door that she had already sensed things weren't quite "right" (the absence of dogs barking anywhere might have been a big clue!)
Dogged, the only ironing I do is to iron the scatter cushion covers when I wash them. DH doesn't wear formal shirts for work any more (and I had given up ironing them several years before that, when he said he didn't like how I ironed them, ... so that was one job he rapidly acquired, together with his smart trousers!) I'm careful when I buy clothes to ensure they don't need ironing!
It's been a good day. DH had fun at the beer festival with his friends, and Ive made progress in my garden. I've mulched the roses on the front garden and also topped up the bark path through the middle of it. And then I needed to sweep the front path as there was a bit of "spillage". I've also chatted with Dnextdoorneighbour C and cut the grass. Lunch for tomorrow is prepped, Ive made my coffee loaf cake for MQ's birthday, the cats have been fed, and DH is cooking sausages for supper.
