Well....well...well....decision time. I am averaging 1324 calories a day this month. About half the time I am over 1300 and about half the time I am below 1300.
Should I raise my calorie goal to 1400 so I can earn more gold stars?.......OR......should I become okay with trying and not meeting my goal everyday.........OR......should I accept that perfection isn't the goal and be thrilled with my consistent efforts?

I decided to leave my calorie goal at 1300. When I go any higher my body will gain weight. After recording everything I eat for the past 645 days, I know my body well.
Taking care of a dementia husband 24/7 while raising 2 teenagers who all resist eating healthy puts an extra level of challenge for me to eat well. I can't blame them for my choice of eating too many calories but simply acknowledging they are the environment and influence that surrounds me.

Promised dd27 that I would tell ya'll she has given up coffee and started using mushroom "coffee" and really recommends it. Her acid reflux is nearly gone and her upper digestive system generally seems comforted by the change. She says her energy is better, and she's gardening. She has settled on the "rise" ("ryze"?) brand, which she can find readily. She says it's not cheap, but a lot less expensive than the doctor or the reflux pills. Just giving up coffee didn't seem to do it. Also, possibly not related, she's more committed to the gym and looking forward to it mornings before work, reaching some personal bests on reps.

Yeah for mushroom coffee making a difference! i love hearing how making a change can improve our health.
DBro wanted to try mushroom coffee awhile back so I
bought him some that was highly rated on a-river. That was a failed experiment for him because he hated the taste and returned to regular coffee.
I am well content once I found coffee that my body likes.
Folgers Black Silk Coffee doesn't cause any negative reaction to my body. I enjoy one large cup of this coffee every morning.

I tried the mushroom coffee and hated the taste. I drink decaf coffee for acid reflex when my tummy is off and it works. Like I much better than the mushroom coffee.
