Of course, now, in the back of my mind, I am thinking, well... will the world end when I retire?
* sigh *
But I'm not frantic-panicky about this. Everytime d?principal or d!(not-dear) ass't principal sends an e-mail, I think, Calgon take me away -- to retirement -- TODAY!!! Oh my goodness... the administration of education is completely going insane.
Anyway...
Ta-da's:
Today I have
-- gotten a haircut (trim, actually)
-- visited dmil w/dh
-- visited dh's cousin in hospital w/dh
-- exercised 20 minutes (first time in long while)
-- washed two loads of clothes
-- gathered clothes, etc. (all except toiletries) for weekend trip to college town
-- talked to ddad on phone
-- graded set of papers
-- Mr. Clean swiped dh's shower floor
-- AND worked on school newspaper approx 4 hours while dcounselor spoke to my classes
Everybody sleeps? Hmmmm... sometimes it seems like nobody sleeps MUCH around here.
School newspaper IS at frantic/panic time... and next week, Monday & Wednesday afternoons are already spoken for -- POSSIBILITY OF A TWO HOUR FACULTY MEETING WEDNESDAY -- CALGON TAKE ME AWAY!!! -- and Tuesday & Wednesday I will be out of my classroom for at least half the day, giving state graduation exams. * SHEESH *
I know... I know... it is ALWAYS like this... and the first issue of the year is ALWAYS the worst... but OH MY GOODNESS... I am really at my wit's end.
And yes, I have student staff who can do * or at least SHOULD be doing * most of the work... but there are just some things that I have to do myself -- or at least I can not bring myself to surrender control of some things...
Plus -- student staff will not be able to work in my classroom while I'm giving test, anyway.
Sooo... it is what it is.
Can't work on it at home b/c I don't have Publisher software on home computer.
* sigh *
I could probably grade another set of papers before I collapse, but I think I'll just go to bed.
The REALLY depressing moment of the day:
Sat down in beautician's chair.
Chair is now in front of full-length mirror, with no counter-top, etc. in front of it.
If you ever thought you looked a bit too large STANDING in front of a full-length mirror...
well... you should just try SITTING in front of a full-length mirror.
Good grief.
Yep... that was depressing.
So... I ate fried fish for supper w/coconut haystacks for dessert???
WHAT IS THE MATTER WITH ME???
