I go back to the red dress days I was Peel / Air on the old she boards. Actually I predate the boards as I found P & P in the 70's when my kids were small side tracked was the first self help book I ever read.
I set up a card file and did the buddy system with my best friend. We were having so much fun my kids wanted one too so I did created a kid's one. I read Sidetracked Sisters Keep Up on the Kitchen and got my sis in on the card file action. Loved the Zones in the kitchen, hot, warm, cold dry cooking ect.
I got a planner made up my own with my lists and set it up at some point early on lost my "system" when I tossed my lists at the end of the first planner year and things imploded. I had tossed my master lists with the end of the day decluttering my daily planner. So I had to restart all over again ACK! So I was pleased to get info. in books and restart mine again later as my kids were older it was time for a new focus jr. hi. & high school things were different.
I tried flylady but wanted to tweak to some ideas and more closely resemble my original cards plus some other things I'd found helpful. All those e-mails were driving me nutty! So I created peelsplanner yahoo group with my cards on line.
((Ivy)) I'm not sure I understood all that, but seeing a change in one's eyes and waiting for a test do sound worrisome. It sounds like you're doing the right thing and keeping busy to distract yourself.
Woohoo for the good news from the Dr. OK!! Eating low carbs helps me lose weight, but I LOVE carbs SO much. . . . . .
I didn't read all of Kathryn's post, but I did peruse the slide to the site 5 years ago. I don't remember GrammaCarol who was posting at that time. (Did I get her name right?) I do remember and miss Peeper and Gretchen. . . . I hope they are doing well.
You all are inspiring me and I'm now thinking of redoing my cards. They're not realistic now, so I don't really bother with them. If I can make them better match my daily rhythms and maybe stretch myself with a few extra tasks each week, I think that would be good for me. My logic is probably bad, but I feel I have the bandwidth in my life now to redo them. I haven't felt that way in a long time.
Done:
x teeth care
x bed made
x laundry gathered; load of towels needs to be folded. Load of darks in dryer
x devo. time, finally
x working on Hebrew; I decided to do this first b/c I am translating so slowly. I can always go to the groc. store this evening, if worst comes to worst. I am determined to get through plenty of verses before class. I think the others come in and translate cold turkey, but they're more used to it than I am, so I need to do it at home first.
Except for one young woman, younger than me, I am the youngest in my Hebrew class by about 20/30 years! --Oh, wait. There is an Asian woman about my age too. I'd forgotten about her. It is an interesting crowd.
The dryer beeped. I'm off to take care of it and then dive back into Hebrew and Passover celebration statutes and such.
I did a quick internet search for Sharon and found where she moved in 2004 from the address I had for her. From the internet information i found, she lives in Maryland now.....along with a mere 5.8 million other people. Hum.....I don't think I'm going to be able to track her down. Hopefully someday she will return to SHE boards and we can have a happy reunion.
I did web site work for P&P and Flylady looong looong ago. I can't recall P&P webmaster name right now.....it will probably pop into my memory during my next shower. I do remember that she didn't like me very much and our personalities weren't a good match for long distance working relationship. I don't remember working with her for very long - maybe a few months. I remember working during holiday break with Marla developing her first website. We would email back-forth dozen times a day during the development. Marla knew exactly what she wanted and was a pleasure to work with. She was always quick to say/show her appreciation. I was involved in the beginning mentor development and on her early email list, but the amount of emails quickly overwhelmed me.
Just peeking in for the moment...Nancy, to me you'll always be Peel/Air to me, although I have learned to translate that name into Nancy ...I enjoyed you under that name on the other board because at times your thoughts were written in such unusual form and I found them very entertaining.
I found P&P long before in the early 80's. Their system changed my life and explained to me in a way that I could understand HOW to get my life organized. Within a few weeks of adopting their card system my life did a dramatic turn around. I lived by those cards for years. It was such a blessing to me. Finally I was proud of my home and never worried about anyone dropping over at any given time.
I still follow the system, but I am like you...I've tweeked it quite a bit. I tend to use a notebook with daily lists much more than the cards...But I needed the cards to really get me going. Being able to label the time it took to do something and the order in which to do it made life so much simpler for me.
When I first started teaching, I was swamped with papers and needed materials that were scattered throughout my classroom. I was always fumbling about...which is the worst thing you can do as a teacher. You are taught from the get-go that classroom procedures are the foundations of good classroom management, and without that it really doesn't make much of a difference how well you teach if you can't FIND what you need. Idle time in a classroom is a disaster waiting to happen.
I took what I learned from the card system and adapted it to my classroom. I color codes everything. I made my desk my "sink". I had zones for everything and each day was designated for a specific job...like filing was on Mondays> Teachers would say to me...you're so organized, how do you do it? I have often thought about designing a Card system for teachers...but because everyone has a computer, I don't know if it would work. I have taught the card system to many new teachers and either told them where to buy the P&P book or given it to them as a welcome new teacher gift. I've had many say it was the best present anyone had given them.
Off to w world. My house is all taped up and I have to figure out which door I can escape from....Later Taters...

Nancy, Peel/Air sounds like such an unusual, yet unique user name.
helia, I use several cards, but mainly focus on a to do list and ta da list. Yes, I have plenty of things to keep me busy.
OKay, There are a LOT of people in Maryland!
OKay, That's great news about your DH's Doc visit, too! Low carb eating works so good.
Harmony, I have various cards, about 10, for different things, but I list several things on each card, rather than 1 item per card or I'd have 300. Sometimes I look at them; sometimes I don't.
My Ta Da is a bit "comical" today:
1- I showered and shaved. I shave in the shower without eyeglasses on, obviously, so I scraped a 3" cut on my leg, asked DH to retrieve a long band-aid for me, while I kept TP on the cut. DH tells me that I'm shaving WRONG! He said I should be shaving DOWN the leg, WITH the growth of the hair, instead of up my leg, against the growth of hair and this is why I got cut. I told him, "Women don't shave THAT WAY! You shave DOWN!" He said, "Well, I've been shaving my face for YEARS and I'm doing it right and get no cuts!" Ladies, do you shave up the leg or down? I decided to go back to my women's electric shaver and stand in the tub with eyeglasses on. It's safer, I won't get cut, I can shave whatever direction I want to, and get a closer shave, too.
2- I sorted laundry with DH and we fetched the light-colored towels, which are washing now and I re-hung light-colored towels.
3- I addressed a pen pal's envelope
4- I gave 2 titles of books to a friend with FM (fibromyalgia)
5- I stretched, walked 25 min., and stretched again.
Oh, I got out receipts, earnings listed in a composition book, they're on the dining room table, and I'll get my records in order today.
Thank you for thinking of me as I wait for my tests and the results. I think the time leading up to a test is the worst than actually being there having it done, but the results are worrisome. It's a big fat old question mark, what will happen for the future, but Life goes on for us all, no matter what. I think the best thing to do is hit it head on.
I told DH about it being the first day in Oct., the first Mon. in Oct. for the Supreme Court, AND it's an anniversary here, too! It's neat that everything's happening on the same day as today.
I'll work some more on my ta da this afternoon. Have a great day, Everybody!

Ivy, you are correct. I shave UP too. Men. What do they know. DH does not shave often enough, I know that regardless of what direction he uses.
Nancy, is your Yahoo group still going? I never joined because I have too many computer things already, but I was curious.
Had lunch. Got one report printed out. One more to go and cash account to reconcile and write check. I am tired and I donwanna. Need groceries too. Really donwanna do that. Looks like a drizzle coming. I'll use that for an excuse & go sit and rest a spell.
Did not get as much done as I'd hoped before going. Did get the necessary stuff done, but got nuts everywhere, which meant pulling out the vacuum. Years ago, we had a cheap plastic vacuum cleaner, parts of whch seemed to break off every time I used it. So when it died, I overcompensated on its replacement and got a big, honkin' commercial model. And in this house, we have almost entirely hardwood floors, so using it is like swatting a fly with a nuke.
Harriet & Dee, thanks for answering my question & clearing up my indiscretion. I had thought there was a reason, but I couldn't remember what it was (though I suppose that if I did, I wouldn't have needed to ask the question in the first place).
Ah, yes, Harriet -- but the part I was recalling was overstaying my welcome -- peeking in the next morning & posting on the scroll board just to see if I could. If I remember correctly, it was a good bit after noon before posts actually stopped showing up. I remember the thread boards stopped first. Did they stop before the official deadline for the scroll board, or were they just taken down more promptly?
Oh, Sharon, yes! I thought for a minute it was Worthy, but sadly, the main thing I remember about Worthy was how horrible her husband was to her (or so it seemed from her posts). It only occurred to me later that perhaps she posted more when he had been a particular jerk, and she needed to vent.
Is it just the name Webwoman you are trying to remember, OKay, or her IRL name? I can't remember her IRL name, but I remember being very surprised that it was to our Webbie that Flylady was referring when she used it.
I'm in a tizzy now -- recipe said to melt chocolate & butter together for the topping. I now have a paste that seems more solid than spreadable. The bars are supposed to set up in the fridge for at least 10 minutes after the chocolate is spread on, and dfriend is supposed to be here in :20!

My yahoo groups are going not very active but the reminders and calenders & notes are still available.
Peel was short for peel out mom my first screen name a nick name dd gave me. Air also a shortened nick name for airborne from my dsis when I tried to "fly" a boat over a wake! LOL!
I'm back inside from finishing up washing out the chick feeder waterers.
Did another round of yd. work it's looking so much better in the back yard now yea!
Granny duty is going well we made cookies this morning.

Ivy I shave up too. It is easier. And the same as men do - both sexes shave towards the direction of their arms at rest but we are shaving opposite ends of the body so that's why the different directions!
OKay was the name you were looking for Lisa? Or maybe Lori? The letter L popped into my head. But now my head's bothering me that there might have been an Asian with a name starting with M on the Columbian boards, that came over to our boards and then it all gets jumbly and I don't believe anything I'm 'remembering.'
Harriet: My memory was the the first preview discussion about Bound to Be Organized, took place on the unthreaded board which I only associate with Columbian. I bought the system off SHEsInTouch, but that was a few months after the system was first discussed. Still have it somewhere. Reworked the sheets to fit my life and my Daytimer planner (I had already moved to a planner before the BTBO came out, sensing it was what I needed but had no idea how to integrate it with the SHE system.)
I had completely forgotten the name WebForums.
I first started the SHE system in the fall of 1985. The book was in the LLL library so I took it out at one meeting and returned it at the next, having fully implemented it (but apparently incompletely, having missed the part about habits.) For years my sister thought I was nuts but as messy as my house was, you could eat off the floor under the fridge because it was clean under all that mess, thanks to the system. It was after finding the SHE boards that I found the missing link and now teach people that as unfair as it is, a messy but clean house looks dirty and a dirty but tidy house looks clean.
I can't tell you how happy I was to meet other people who understood the SHE system. I suddenly didn't feel like an oddity.
