Sorry, no time to CUOP's... we just got in from shopping and dinner. I am done!!! only spent $100 at W al-mart, all I needed were stocking stuffers because I am making everything else.

DS20 got me a new microwave. :D I have to wait to use it because he wants to wrap it and put it under the tree. :( 8-) This great lady with a plastic storage bin of coupons saw the A xe body wash in my cart and gave me 6 $2.00 coupons, so I got 6 bottles of body wash for the boys rather then just 3. 8-)

The boys went to get more kerosene and then we are going to watch Brave (my choice tonight, since we watched their choice last night ;) ).

ToDo/TaDa's

sew hood & interfacing

Hopefully will get the rest of the jackets finished while watching the movie. Have a great night everyone.

Thank you, Well Wishers. :D

I took my medicine, when needing to, did my prayers for others, myself, DH and our dfamily. Write in my journal, rested a long while. Downloaded some free books. DH is very tired. He went to the store, got a cute bag with a bow on it, of chocolate candy for the mail carrier. I wrote a card to him/her, whoever is delivering today, and DH delivered a bag of goodies to neighbors across the street on a different road. Known them since 1975. DH got firewood in to the bin, promised to strip the bed, so I can wash sheets, but he watched a holiday movie, is now snoring to a baseball talk show. Hopefully we'll get the sheets done by bedtime.

I wrote on 10 index cards, with a pretty sticker, a Bible Verse: Timothy 1:7 and wrote a word to focus on in 2013, which is "Discipline", and wrote 8 short goals. They're not hard ones to attain, so I kept them simple and attainable. I'll go put 1 in my purse, 1 in 2 separate desk drawers, and around where "my eyes" will see them only. (Because DH hates seeing prompts like that.) He doesn't need them, doesn't use them and doesn't want to see mine either. It's just not his thing.

DH brought the mail, I got a card from new parents to a baby I'd crocheted a gift for, but realized I never sent them a card. I got a note written and the card will go out tomorrow. I read 2 letters, to answer later and probably after Christmas Eve.

I got baby crochet out, to do on and off while I do hot spots and clean here and there.

I noticed, while reading my Nook last night, how I had 1 short free book I was reading, called "The 7-Day Doubt Diet," by Renee Swope. It's a companion to her larger book called, "A Confident Heart - How to Stop Doubting Yourself & Live in the Security of God's Promise." It's religious, but pertains to dieting, losing weight, and being in control by faith to do it. Ddil told me they're giving us $$ for Christmas and 1 small gift, so if their gift of $ will be $8, I have $2, and will be able to get the book. Also, it's great that it's before the New Year, when people, me included, to New Year's Resolutions. I've read about the book and enjoy the short companion book, so I'm sure I'll enjoy Swope's larger book. It's just coming to me at a perfect time in my life. :D

Tomorrow, after we deliver gifts, we'll come back home and I'll get the last of the hats wrapped, with cards and gifts inside the cards. Our son's hat is so gorgeous! :!: It's variegated brown, tan, and a darker brown on the bottom 2", then up from that, it's an off-white tweed-like looking yarn, and the top 2" is soft brown. I do have to admit it looks professional and it's odd that all 3 yarns are scraps from my stash. You never know what using up a stash of yarn can give you! I'm so happy!

I heard that the Mayans stopped the one calendar and started a new one with longer numbers and this is why their old calendar stops and makes it LOOK LIKE it's the end of the world, but it's not, really. I keep asking DH, "Is the end of the world supposed to come at 6 p.m.? Do you know what time it's going to happen? Are we going to just vaporize, or what?" When I don't feel 100%, I have odd thoughts and funny questions.

Twins', What are you using grippers for? :?: I used to use grippers for pearlized snaps that went on shirts, and jackets. I was a seamstress back them.

Elly, I'm glad your headache's gone. I cannot have Ibuprofen or I get painful gastritis. I've been using Ibuprofen on and off for a few days and it caught up with me.

Waving to Okay, Harriet, Kally, Sunny, Dee, Kathryn, Scattered and have a great later afternoon and evening. I'm feeling better now. :) Thank you so much for thinking of me. For those with snow, be safe, careful and stay warm, too. :!:

Ivy: I'm the one talking about grippers and I mean ice grippers that go on the bottom of my boots to keep me from slipping and sliding. Mine worked perfectly and I only slipped once, compared to dh who slipped two or three times.

I'm supposed to be putting up the tree now but spent an hour trying to get a Christmas movie on to keep me company. Turns out our VCR in the living room is dead. At least the basement ones still work.

I've finally settled on Sleepless in Seattle on Netflix.

blessedw2, you mentioned Woodfields. Is that a large mall? We were in Chicago in May 2011. Dh and a coworker were there for a conference. His wife and I took a bus to a Woodfields mall twice. It was very nice and large . On that trip, Indiana and I were going to try and arrange a meeting but she wasn't feeling well. She had been so busy getting ready for her move and was wore out. As we all know, after her move, her health steadily declined. Anytime I see her signature saying of Live, Laugh and Love, I always think of her. It has been 4 months now that we have been without her. I miss her.

I think of and miss Indiana daily. She had a big influence on my life.

I am using the MS surface tablet again. Turns out the "problem" it had earlier was 100% operator (me) error. Back in the days that I did computer support, we referred to it as ID.10.T error.  No matter how many times I tried to get the volume button to be the power button, it just wouldn't do it. :D I've had more than one good chuckle at myself and my persistance of trying to use the wrong button. Spending 5 minutes reading the manual solved the "problem" I am immersing myself in learning the in/outs of Windows 8.....thankfully it is intuitive.

Have a safe and happy trip, Elizabeth, with meaningful moments. See you on the flip side. :)

I have visited my colorist. Not too impressed with myself, however, since I neglected to get the better-for-me recent choice of Gar nier Herba shine at the pharmacy. Instead used the Lore al I had here, which doesn't do as well for me. Oh, well, I'm not going to obsess. Finished is better than perfect.

I need to get gifts arranged correctly for tomorrow and then decide whether I'll make deviled eggs last thing this evening or first thdding in the a.m.

Twins' Mom it is SUCH LOUSY WEATHER. It's the high, high wind. Also the extreme fast temp drop. I admire you for going out that late. I got back in at dusk and was miserable out putting up the hens, battening down their hatches. To have gone back out after dark would have taken will-power indeed.

Discipline is a good focus, Ivy.

I have not started formulating 2013 focusing and priorities, goals. But I know that health/fitness will be part. Dd14 has formulated hers, and is goal-ing with the concept/time of when she becomes a sophomore, having to do with school priorities mostly.

Emptynester has inspired me and I took a few photos of the mini-projects dd and I have had over the past few weeks to a month. I don't want to just forget our fun together.

Happy sewing, scattered.

((Dee)) That would be nerve-wracking.

Hair color. Since mine has been discontinued, I apparently have the choice of risking Bozo orange, in order to keep red highlights, OR going too harsh-dark. * sigh *
All I want for Christmas is my old haircolor back!!!

Update in J&C.

Good evening everyone! It is 7:50 pm here and I am packed except for my meds, books, and carryon crochet projects. There are numerous things I need to do around the house to get ready, things like purge refridgerator, get ham into freezer, cat care, wash hair, run dishwasher, put check out for the pet sitter. There are more, but I have a list in my pocket. I have already run my errands, updated Quicken, and balanced my checkbook.

Back from the Christmas party. It was fun...nothing to dread. We have fallen in with a nice group of people!

Dee, we did enjoy "Jonah" very much. This was our first time ever going to that theatre. Will probably try to see "Noah" in the summer. Maybe I can get DD to come up and go with us.

Ivy, it's great to see how much joy you get from crocheting. Also, that sounds like a good book by Renee Swope.

I will have to brave the crowds tomorrow for a few items. Going to take along a good attitude and just "git 'er done!" :)

Good luck, everyone, with last minute preparations.

Tree is up with lights and garland on. That's it for tonight. Tomorrow is another day and I hope to get the second have of today's to-do list done. Plus the Sunday School class prep.

I did send my regrets to Sunday's afternoon party so that frees up more time as well.
