I've been tracking the packages that I sent on Thursday. DS's finally turned up today in Anchorage, AK

It was supposed to go to a suburb of Chicago.
DD#2's package was delivered to MI on time. DD#1's is in IL but half a state away. It doesn't really make sense.
I've been watching movies on the Hallmark Channel. Love them. Can't wait for Debbie Macomber's Cove series to start next spring. I've read all but the last 2.
Tomorrow we will finish the baking for the Christmas dinner at the Activities center. I'm making a mincemeat pie and the sweet potatoes. (I think I told you all about that before)
Time to hit the hay. Have to find some pills first. I dropped our weekly pill container and some of the pills went under the stove. Will get it all straightened out tomorrow when I refill it.
Niters.

Hi Everyone! Just finished cuop and it seems that everyone is busy wrapping up loose ends for holiday preparations.
I liked Lynlee's opening post this morning. I didn't realize that RLS had all those personal trials in his life.
Blessed, your trip to the countryside sounds very pleasant and relaxing.
Kathryn, sending good health thoughts for both dh and you. Hope you have luck getting the candles!
OKay, I'm glad the trip out with dparents turned out good. I had a thought: maybe the choices your dgsons have been made because of peer pressure.
I finished addressing my Christmas cards this afternoon. They will be mailed first thing tomorrow morning. Dh helped wrap the rest of all the gifts. Our family also is always busy and boistrous when we get together. TV, music or Wii games are always going, kids telling us about their weeks activities, adults talking, etc. etc. We just have lots of fun enjoying each other!
Tomorrow will be just to finish straightening up room by room, probably a couple lol, basic routine stuff in the morning so we can relax and get ready for candlelight service at church in the evening. For the second year we will not have anyone here on Christmas day. Dfam#2 has gone to visit ddil's dmom & ddad for a few days & won't be back till later this week. Dfam#1 wants to stay home and asked us to come to their house, so we'll go early afternoon; we're bringing dessert, so decided on cupcakes and apple pie - something for everyone!
Oh, I remember reading a post by MT and wanted to say we like candied sweet potatoes but haven't fixed them that way for a long time, both dmom and dh being diabetic. We fix in a casserole by slicing them and layering with apple slices with some cinnamon and a little butter or oleo and bake until tender. No need for extra sugar. Dniece always liked the apples so we always made an extra dish of just baked apples! Wonder if dsis remembers that??!!
Wow, MT, AK is a long way from Chicago! Hope they can deliver it in time for Tues.
Sending ((Hugs)) and good wishes for all.
