Re: Sensational Saturday!!
I got up early, didn't feel well, went down for a nap after breakfast and slept 1 1/5 hours. Must have needed it because I feel much better. We're getting ready for a visit from DD and dgson-16 for tomorrow, which is a Christmas + DD-41's b-day celebration. It'll be GR8 to see them again, exchange gifts, and I hope DD's feeling better by tomorrow, too.
I don't know what happened, but I believe I forgot to post here at the Village yesterday. I was busy with other things, wasn't feeling well, and had a full day.
We're going to eat chili tomorrow night, but we're uncertain what we'll eat tonight, since we'll have sandwiches and salad, b-day cake, etc.. with DD and grson-16 tomorrow. I'm sort of hungry for some yummy clam chowder myself, but we have leftovers to eat, too.
How many years have you been married, Norma?
Been busy putting out hot spots, tidying, and cleaning on and off, getting ready for tomorrow. I found our scarab, so put it on its pedestal on the eating bar end shelves. Nice!
Have a super-duper night, Everybody!
TTFN!

RE: Stuffed Peppers - not sure why they turned out so good. A couple things I did different was including Feta Cheese and mozzarella cheese in the meat/onion/celery mixture (with more mozzarella cheese melted on top) Or maybe it had to do with the flavor of garden tomatoes I had recently cooked down into a yummy sauce. Or maybe the rice seasoned with sazon goya? >>>.shrugging shoulders<<<< whatever it was - the combination of flavors was WONDERFUL.
Today I tried a different way of cooking potatoes in the oven. The guys declared it a keeper. I cut potato into thick fries and dropped them in a ziploc bag of spices including sugar. I've never put sugar on French Fries but having it in the coating was a good contrast with the salt flavor. I did a test potato (baked while the stuffed peppers were in oven) but will be repeating it for real the near future.
I took a nap with LO. We both sleep for 3 hours.
I have 3 of the 4 Christmas decorations tubs packed and into the cellar. Tomorrow I will get the big nativity scene down from the attic and repack it into a big red tub. Hopefully there won't be a repeat of ruined decorations since everything will be stored in plastic tubs now.
Decorations for January are underway. It is snowmen/snowflake theme. I only have a few snow themed items so will be watching for sales here and there to add to it.

Re: Sensational Saturday!!
I was happy with meeting my goals yesterday. I worked on them all through the day as time allowed and finished about 9:30pm last night (late for me to still be working strong)
I set a HIGH goal of processing 100 pieces of paper to completion. It was hard to get that much done but the challenge of doing it kept me going long after I would have normally quit. My shoulders were aching at the end of the day but it was a "good" hurt.
Today i set a goal of processing 100 financial transactions (not paper, but digital type transactions). I have done ZERO so far so I best be getting busy!
Grabbing an evening cup of coffee.....*POOF*

Re: Sensational Saturday!!
Hello, villagers ~
It seems that whenever we go to family gatherings, especially if we see both of our large families within a day or two of each other, we catch whatever germs they have in their town that we haven't been exposed to in ours.
Someone in his family had a honking bad cold last week. A little boy at my family's Christmas Eve party had the throwing-up kind of flu virus but his parents brought him to the party anyway. (Noting for the record that they're not actually in my family, but are friends of DSis's. I surely hope my own family members are smart enough to know that when a kid throws up repeatedly, you keep him home in bed!)
DH and I have been lucky so far and only have the cold virus, which is bad enough.
He had taken this whole week off work anyway, and had been enjoying his goofing-off time. I had hoped that by the end of the week, we'd be able to get to some projects and he would do some cleaning in his mancave. Unfortunately, I woke up yesterday feeling as if I'd been hit by a truck, and DH admitted today that he also has the crud.
Oh well, the bright side is that we both are able to get plenty of rest, and don't have to go work for someone else this week when we're sick.
I must do some desk work tomorrow, though, whether I feel well or not. A couple of bills are due, and year-end donations to charities. Must also do laundry tomorrow afternoon.
We had a late lunch of chicken and veg soup. Now I need to ask DH what options sound good to him for supper, if he wants anything at all.
Tonight we'll both be relaxing, watching tv. I still have that Duck Dynasty Christmas Special to enjoy, as well as another holiday show I recorded last week.

IKWYM, BookSaver -- same thing here w/Christmas germs. We have lots of schoolage children, and three under five years old now, so our family gathering is just a virus looking for a place to land!
Hope you & dh both feel better soon!
Happy anniversary, Mr. & Mrs. Norma!!!
Waving to all!!!

Re: Sensational Saturday!!
Good evening, happy anniversary to Norma & Mr Guy. I also took a long nap and felt like I had slept hard. Dh and ds went out for chinese and I begged off since I'm not that hungry.
After much deliberation I took Ddogs for walk. It wasn't nearly as cold as I thought it would be and we went two laps around.
Tomorrow I need to take a leaf from Lucylee and make myself a li&t of things to accomplish next week.

Re: Sensational Saturday!!
Happy anniversary to Norma and DH!
Lucy, do you think you should start looking for another ironing lady? You do stay awfully busy.
And along those lines, I'm going to tell you all something nobody will believe. DH wanted to take me out to buy me a Christmas present, the week before Christmas. Well, there's nothing I particularly want, and don't need extravagant stuff, etc., so I thought about the one thing I really need and would have to buy anyway. I got myself a new steam iron (mine is leaking water out the bottom and is cracked and sometimes I can see it spark inside) and a brand new ironing cover with pad (my old one is stained and has holes in it). So, there was my fancy Christmas present to me.
Now you can all pick yourselves up off the floor and continue with whatever you were doing...
We had dinner. I gave DH a haircut. I finished the spreadsheet with all the deposits for the year. Another step toward DONE!
