Well, Harriet, your check-in-your-hand-but -not-in-your-thoughts reminded me of Sat. night here in my kitchen. I got out utensils to bake cookies DH was donating Sunday and I thought, I need to get out the flour sifter. Went through every drawer and cupboard, no sifter. Was right in front of me where I'd just gotten it out and set there to use. Yep. Glasses on forehead syndrome.
Brain power, where art thou?
DH did a lot of organizing and decluttering (big barrel full) in his shop, mostly on the workbench. Whatever took possession of him, I don't know, but I liked it!
And on the decluttering subject, DH got rid of whole set of 60's retro tourquois kitchen cabinets he dragged home from jobsite. Got $75 from someone who intends to install them in his shed. Very sturdy still after all these years. We'll give the $ back to the homeowner who expected the cabinets to just be thrown away in landfill. I liked them a lot and could picture a kitchen set up with them and those new "old" appliances one can buy...maybe a different color, though.
