Have you ever made such a mess in the kitchen that you seriously thought about running away to avoid cleaning it up? I can remember 3 times in the past but tonights mess probably topped them. The crescent rolls that I make are from a dough that has to be refrigerated overnight. One of the ingredients is Crisco and you melt it. I don't use much Crisco but when I do I use the sticks. Well I cut off the amount I needed and put it in the microwave to melt. It arced so I turned it off. Tried again and it arced slightly. So I took it out and set the cup on the stove. Then I had the brainy idea to see if there was a small particle of the foil wrapper. In doing so, I tipped the cup as if it was empty. It spilled on the smooth stovetop, but then splashed on me, the floor, the backsplash. I was horrified that I had made such a mess. I had just mopped the floor today, too. So it took forever to get that greasy mess cleaned up. Then I had to mix up 2 batches of dough and clean that mess up.
After all that my bs was low, so instead of heading to bed, I had to eat a snack and stay up to see if it did the trick. It's up but I always worry it will drop again while I am sleeping.
In the morning I will have to hit the ground running to get all this food prepared.
Guess I better head to bed.............
