explain golden hour.
It is the hour before sunset.
In our location it is the best time of the day to mow because the grass is dry (from the morning dew) and the temperatures are dropping. During Golden Hour, DH and I are using push mowers to get walking exercise that raises our heart rate. At 8pm tonight our temperature will be down to 95 which feels pleasant to be doing things outside.

RR - Thanks for the suggestions and sharing what is working for you. Real life experiences are helpful.

Striving for consistency in making my health a priority. I am seeing results in my energy increasing. That brings me joy.

Yesterday was a successful effort.
Sleep - 6hr 40 minutes. I am about 3 hours behind on sleep this week. I am hopeful for some longer night sleep in the near future.
Morning Mile - Day #32
Morning papers - Day #7
Cronometer - 1216 calories.
Hydration - over 100oz
Golden Hour - day #4

I noticed that my sleep time decreased when I started doing the Golden Hour. I think it is a coincidence not a causation. The biggest influence on when I can go to bed is having teenagers in the house. I am looking forward to DS15 going to camp in a couple weeks. No teenage boys in/out/in/out of the house during evening hours will be a big change. I want to observe if/how my sleep changes during that week.

Keeping on Keeping on. Just don't quit.

Sleep - 8 hr 13 min. Success! A couple more days like this and I will be back on track. My weekly average is 6hrs 50 minutes so I am almost back to my 7 hour goal.
Morning Mile - Day #33
Morning papers - Day #8
Music - Dance - Smiles - Day #2
Cronometer - 1163 calories.
Hydration - over 100oz
Golden Hour - day #5

Yesterday we found ourselves without any kids for a few hours. We played our favorite music at a high volume. I loved it! Such a simple thing to do that brought joy. I want to do it every day. The teens ears will survive. No teens will be harmed by listening to good music.

LM that reminds me of the Magic Hour P & P used to talk about for me it's by 10:00 getting most important stuff done.

I am back from our walk / today's sightings a young chicken was out, 2 deer fawns, &
got a yt vid. of a quail family like 20 chicks! Made my day.

Got 10 K steps every day but one last week.

Health is wealth.

Yesterday would have been sooooooooooooo easy to throw my health habits to the wind and "treat" myself to comfort food. I was emotionally broken. Last night I found myself in store standing in the chip aisle. I had a mental conversation with myself while I stared at those tantalizing chip bags.
Me to Me mental conversation - You deserve to have a bag of chips after the day you had.
Also me - But those chips will not bring me joy. They will make me feel like crap. A minute in the mouth, an hour in the stomach and then a lifetime on the hips.
Then I walked away and didn't eat the cr*p that I would have in the past.

Sleep - 6 hr 46 minutes
Morning Mile - Day #35
Morning papers - Day #10
Music = Joy - Day #4
Cronometer - 1528 calories.
Hydration - over 100oz
Golden Hour - day #7

You did have quite the crappy day yesterday, LadyM. I'm so sorry, but I'm so proud of you for sticking with what makes your body feel good!

I had a salad with grilled chicken last night. It had a lot of dressing, but I felt somewhat virtuous. Got in 7600 steps yesterday too.

Good for you LM!!! That’s a definite win.

I made muffins for Sweetie and I almost gave in as well.

My weight is stuck, but I’m not giving in. Just gonna keep doing what I’ve been doing.

Gotta tell you sometimes I want to throw all this focus into the wind. Fortunately that thought only last a few minutes. When it occurs I think about how far I’ve come and am not willing to slide back to where I was. But to be honest it happens more times than I am willing to admit.

However I am proud of myself for staying the course and that’s most important to me!
