Too much food noise going on in my brain. I figure I must be addicted to carbs and sugar, so am taking the approach that alcoholics do with alcohol.
So every time I reach for something I shouldn’t be eating I think about what a recovering alcoholic would do. If they can sit at a bar and drink sparkling water while everybody else is enjoying their beverage, I can learn to eat my food when I cook differently for Sweetie.
Sometimes I need to go minute to minute, sometimes hour to hour. The cravings are real and I am really trying to think about what I’m doing and how I can overcome the wants for carbs and sugar.
I am also taking time to see what’s going on emotionally when I want to grab something that I shouldn’t. I’m only on day four, but it seems to be helping me. Doesn’t help when you watch TV and they throw up all the food commercials that seems to be a trigger as well.
