Re: What's for Dinner?
Hi guys! Tonight was an omelet with mushrooms, a little cheddar and bacon.
Because I always saute the chopped mushrooms first, and I didn't have green pepper this time, the aroma was distinctively mushroom! Both HRH and dd (who had different suppers) were complaining about the aroma of mine! Oh well, they didn't get to taste it and it was delish!
Tomorrow, menu including my two daughter in law's contributions is:
Turkey
dressing
mashed potatoes
cranberry sauce
sweet potato casserole
corn casserole - dil E
vegetable salad – dil M
rolls – dil E
pumpkin pie - dil E
brownies - dil M
small cake, unfrosted
tea - dil M

Re: What's for Dinner?
I have been cooking but not listing
Dd you get made a beautiful dinner - by Jaimie Oliver - I don't like pork except for ham - but I loved this- "my moory pork chops" - I also wouldn't have thought beans would b as good in the dish - i would have fried the bacon crisp and add after cooking - I don't like Swiss chard and would have used spinach but this was a excellent- for 20 years old she has a good feel for cooking

Re: What's for Dinner?
I made a tentative menu for this week - (on the fridge) I also have been keeping a list of veggies fruit etc in fridge and freezer that I have been crossing off things used - helpful - on the fridge
Went to store today and now is all put away
One thing that has been working well the last couple years - I painted the inside of a cabinet w chalk paint and right down my groceries that we need in chalk as I go through my week

Re: What's for Dinner?
My pot au feu went too well - I haven't any meat left for tomorrow s I put a pot roast in the crock pot for 8 hours
I was going to bring enchiladas to d d in laws but the store didn't have rotisserie chicken - yes I can make a chicken but I find these the easiest
I have lots of soup base left that I will freeze - it turned out great

Last night the kids ate the crock pot meat and veggies w l ipton onion soup mix - I like homemade better - I think it has more flavor
Yesterday dd younger made a Jaimie Oliver recipe - that I really liked that I would never thought would taste great but it was good

Re: What's for Dinner?
The other night was eat what there is night so I did t make the poblano stuffed peppers - making that and chicken ones and corn salad - tonight - making carrot ginger soup today as I need to use up carrots
last night we made raviolo- really good - simpler than I thought - did made one her fancy cakes and she accidentally made brown butter so I kept it for yesterday- I made braised vegetables but I didn't make it right so it lost a lot of its flavor
Raviolo is individual servings - pasta dough made in food processor- rest - then put through hand machine until #6
The inside is spinach parmigiana ricotta mixed - u make a well on top of a 4" square of dough - put egg yolk in well of spinach mixture- top with other 4" top - gently put in salted boiling water for 2 minutes - drain and top w parsley parmigiana and some brown butter - one raviolo per person
