Helia...Nope, found out about our relationship when I was doing my genealogy last year. She grew up in NJ not far from where I was born. She did an interview for PBS, it is in my notes somewhere, but I don't know where that somewhere is at the moment...and her relationship with William Crispin was discussed. He is my great-grandfather so many generation back. Crispin is Wm. Penn's first cousin. Their mothers were sisters. Crispin was born in England along with Penn. Penn's father Admiral Penn sent ol' Willie boy over to the New World to explore this parcel of land King Charles 11 gave the Admiral as payment for fighting against the French and I believe the Ductch.

Anyway Penn and Crispin came to the New World. Crispin was a surveyor by trade. He set the land boundaries for the state of PA. Then he designed and developed what is now known as Old Phileidelpha. Sylvania mean's woods so the state's real name is Penn's Woods. Streep is a direct descendant of Crispin like me though I don't know how yet. Crispin's had 2 wives and 14 children between the two of them so your guess is as good as mine. Crispin is not nearly as well known as Penn, so most articles just state she's distantly related to Penn.

I meant to add I can trace the Crispin side of my family back to 1406. That's only because his family is famous enough both here and in England that somebody cared to figure it out. Actually Crispin's father was also in the Courts of King Charles 11. Some of the homes are still standing and I am working on taking my mom, this is her father's family, to England in the fall. I am trying to locate landmarks and the homes that are still left. We will have to go to travel to the out skirts of Dublin as well. My mom's been to London 3 times in her life never knowing what her true connection was. Crispin, the father, was very involved with the Westminster Abby and when I told my mom this all she could say was ...oh my all those times I walked the same halls and never knew. No wonder I felt like I had been here before.

My clothes, hair things, meds, makeup and toiletries are packed. Outfit for tomorrow is laid out. Shoes still need to be cleaned and put into the shoe bag.

I still have to pack my books, bible, paperwork to work on in the car. And make sure I have enough of my computer gear. Neither of us are taking full computer bags, just our sleeves.

Most of the food is packed, all of the cooking things are packed.

So I've made good progress.

I still have bills to pay before we leave. And I can't forget to bring my passport either. That's out on the bed to pack. I'm not sure where to put it since I'm not traveling with my regular computer bag, I don't have my regular pocket to put it in.

Hi everyone. Wow....six pages; that's awesome! Lot's of interesting reading here.

I spent yesterday and today reorganizing a small rolling cabinet for my sewing supplies, emptied a couple of boxes of miscellaneous items, a pile of papers, etc. A good part of it thrown away!

I had a nice phone visit with dsis this afternoon. Not as long as we sometimes talk, but long enough to catch up on both of our family's doings! I cleaned off my desk and finished paying the rest of the bills for this month.

((Hugs)) for Harmony, Twins, Indiana and others that need them! You've all had various troubling times and could use some time to recoup and gather comfort and more strength to handle the necessary tasks at hand!

What a neat idea for a book, Cowinkie. Everyone has such good choices. I couldn't begin to say who would be my choice of actress. I think they broke the mold when they made me! But I rather like Audrey Hepburn, but she doesn't look like me! Cowinkie, Helia and Kathryn your genealogy finds are interesting! I think it's wonderful that you can go so far back to find your family ancestors!

We've had some rain here today and more is forecast for tomorrow. I feel bad for those who are in the heat wave now and hope it doesn't last long.

That's really cool Helia. ...I always want to call you Heidi...much be the Dutch influence Tisk, Tisk to your Gm. I understand how you feel because my very own Not DF did not recognize me as part of the Cowinkie family any more after I married and my last name changed. I think that is the major reason I was so insistent that I return to my maiden name after I divorced. It wasn't until the other day when I had to get a new social security card that I added Sweetie's last name to mine. When the card came yesterday it was really weird so see my name so different than what I have been used to for the past 25 yrs.....But Sweetie really liked it

Auditions are being held for the following characters for the movie The Village:

Harriet...strong, family first kind of a gal with liking to the simple way of life...must look good in an apron and like chickens.
Twins..... Lover of numbers, love of God, community oriented woman who is known to zip around town with her hair carelessly blowing in the wind.
Indiana...Mother of the Earth, steady, loving and compassionate....must be mechanically inclined while being attached to machines and breath makers. Must love dogs!!!
Jake...can play himself No one could take his place
Elizabeth...must be able to demonstrate knowledge of spreadsheets and have the ability to captivate the audience with her newly morphing personality; a caterpillar to beautiful butterfly by learning to lead a new life.

Auditions begin tomorrow at 6am Eastern time.
Please feel free to suggest who can fill these positions.
You may cast your ballets earlier if you wish.

I had to google the movie to see who that was I was thinking about. Movie was called Gracie's choice and Gracie was played by Kristen Bell. She's best known for her part in Veronica Mars. Anyway, I thought she was great in this. Good choice for Audrey Hepburn, Sunny, but looking at my Avatar, she sorta looks like her!

Well, moving along from that...

Interesting geneology. I wish we had ours done way back. Sunny has a computer program, I think she needs a project to do, huh?!

I spent a couple hours this evening writing out notes for our ministry. Got 8 ready for the mailman tomorrow. Other gal had about 11 to send, her fault for not forwarding addresses to me, so she had to do the ones I didn't have also.

Grocery shopping done. Was good I got home before the rains started again. Really got a hard downpour. Great!

Elly, I'm going to consider the Vit D. There is some in my calcium but not that much. I do get a good bit of sun down here. I'm just overloaded with projects at the moment and "off my game" I guess.
