I'm assuming all of you have the correct emails as part of your user profile. That's why the email I sent last week, using the mass email function of the SHE forums worked fine and none bounced back.

Today, though, the forums were down so I had to use our spreadsheet list of registered users which hasn't been updated for at least 10 months. So anyone who joined in the last 10 months probably didn't get an email and anyone who changed their email since joining the boards, also didn't get an email.

This list is kept off of GoDaddy so doesn't get updated when your user profiles are updated. And when I reviewed the list 2 weeks ago, I realized there were 30 names on it of people who are no longer registered here, and 60 names of people here who are not on the list at all. At some point I have to go through the list and check each email address against the user profiles. Updating the list was on my to-do list and I actually got the 30 people off the list who didn't belong but didn't added all the new people or double check email addresses (that's more time intensive)

MamaP, the email to you did bounce back to me, but I had an alternate email so resent a copy of the email to the account that Indiana received in November last year. Don't know if that was the same as the email in your user profile.

Getting the backup list up to date is a new priority (along with another higher priority task that is also labour intensive but will help with privacy on the boards.) Unfortunately, with my 'up' time at a premium, and my knowledge of how the boards run so limited, things aren't getting done as quickly I'd like. Once I learn how to do the higher priority item, I'll train the moderators on how to do it and we can finish the job off as a team, each taking 1/4 of the work. The email list remains in my hands for now, simply because I have a ton of paper notes to work from (I work better from paper.) So that work can't be shared and will just have to get done as I get time.

Hopefully we won't have any more surprises like today. At least until we get more things backed up.

Happy Birthday, Kathryn!

Thanks for the wishes, Dee!

Harriet, bless her, found me around Easter time or so, and I peeked in a few times between then and now. I did get my e-mail address updated, and Dee spotted me (and apparently tried to let me know the sad news regarding Indiana). Did get this weekend's e-mail. Every SHE could use an understanding BO friend, particularly one as supportive as Indiana. She will be greatly missed.

Will post tomorrow (at least I intend to) with an update from here.

Just a quick Hello this evening. We were out a good while today and didn't know our forum was down till I read today's posts. I checked my email a little while ago and haven't any new ones from anyone since yesterday. I did receive Kathryn's last week late in the afternoon.

Happy Birthday Kathryn!

Dh had a dr. appt. early this morning and I had promised him a "birthday lunch", so when he got home we went to Village Inn to eat. Stopped at a 2nd-hand bookstore/card shop for a couple of cards. Also found a mystery book to read...McNally's Puzzle by Lawrence Sanders. We didn't get home until after 4 pm.

(Thank you for the birthday greeting for dh; he says "Thank You" also!

Harriet... I had to  when I read your comment about Miss Cicely yesterday!

Helia... I don't know if the laws would be the same as where I live, but my dmom was on our deed also. We had gotten the forms for a quit claim deed also, but never got it done before she passed and we had to go thru a lawyer to have papers filed with court system; it took a year to get it all straightened out. She had a will, so "her share" in the property didn't count as part of her estate. She was only on the deed as a way to give her a feeling of security of a place to live --- not that we would have thrown her out on her ear!

Mystery... it was nice to see you here!

We have to get up early tomorrow. We are going to a 9 - 11 ceremony at a local cemetery near us. It starts at 10 am. Two teachers from dgd10's school petitioned to have a section of beams from one of the twin towers erected as part of a memorial garden in memory of those lost that day. Dgd10 will be singing with her school chorus, along with speakers, etc. I hope I can get a couple of good pictures.

That's all I can do....my eyelids are stiff.
