Re: Together Tuesday

I'm on my second 'day' (time up being somewhat productive.) On the bright side, I get two of these each day. On the down side, my day comes to a grinding halt at some point when I need to rest.
When I said I could only be up for 7 hours each day, my girlfriend said there was no way my doctor could know that medically and I explained it wasn't the doctor telling me, it was my body simply shutting down. Aside from exhaustion, ache, and feeling very cold, I also feel like a cranky two-year-old who has been dragged around a mall and is starting a meltdown. There have been days I've walked in the door, gone to hang up my coat and found my hands can't manage the fine motor required to do that so I toss it on the floor and climb the stairs to bed, whining and teary-eyed. Just like a two-year-old.
Two to three hours later, I can be up again and eventually expect an hour or so of productivity after eating dinner.
This evening, I got my Tuesday kitchen dailies done, plus tidied up the kitchen after dinner. We had the last of the leftovers from Saturday night.
Now I'm tired again. Sigh...
Dh heard from his friend/mentor today. His wife has stage 4 cancer (this is the friend I thought had died over the Labour Day weekend but she pulled through that crisis.) Turns out it wasn't RA after all. She has 1 - 3 months to live at this point and no further treatment will occur. Dh's friend is resigning his chairmanship of the committee they are on and dh will take over. Dh was to take over after the release of the standard they are working on but, finally, our friend has figured out that he can't concentrate on work. No kidding. I knew that 3 weeks ago but it took him this long to figure it out for himself. He'll stay on until dh is back from Poland (where he is presenting the standard at a major standards meeting.)
Dh says we shouldn't go down to see our friend again - we saw her in the summer and dh feels we'd be taking time away from their time together. We will go down for the funeral. Now, I'm strong enough to do so and will hopefully have the new car by then so will be able to travel in greater comfort.
No news on the new car - they can't find the colour we want, phoned Friday for more colour options and we haven't heard a thing since.
