Home from work and having some downtime with left over pizza for my supper. Wasn't a particularly productive day - I had a couple of temple emails to send and also rec'd the inspection report and list of what the buyers want us to fix on the old house. It's not as a bad as I had feared - no mention of prior inhabitants in the attic or under the eaves. :D

I will walk ddogs soon - it's a cooler evening here than we've been having lately.

OKay - don't they have a wrap option? I know it wouldn't be your own tortilla but it would be better than all that bread. I switched to whole wheat tortillas several years ago and now we are hooked.

Helia - we love lamb too, every Easter I have the butcher cut one in half so I can put have in the freezer for later in the year. Very easy recipe, 1/4 cup Olive Oil, 1/2 cup Lemon Juice, 2-4 gloves of Garlic minced, Oregano, Rosemary (not in original recipe but I added it). It said to cook on High for 6 hours, I cooked it on High for 2 hrs and then on Low. It practically fell apart, a little more done then I like but very tender and tasty. I will make shepherds pie later in the week with the leftovers.

Ivy - My headache is gone although my sinuses are still stuffy and tender.

Sunny - Class was much better today thank you, I don't have flashbacks often but wow.

Haven't heard back from my young DF, hope she's ok.Should be working on homework but... will do it when I get home tomorrow. Besides NCIS is on tonight.

Ivy, I'm so glad you're feeling OK about the diagnosis. So, there's nothing that can be done? Or perhaps you're not bad enough to warrant intervention at the moment? I guess the test is over and done now!

Mmm.... that sounds good. I'll try to write that down, scattered. In the crockpot - even better.

Smiling at memories of past BBQ debates/conversations here. LOL! We lived in Austin, TX for 8 years. 'Nuf said. ;) However, dh lived in NC for 4 years, his first 4 years in this country, in fact. So, he has a soft spot in his. . stomach? heart? .. . . for a more vinegary BBQ.

I've tracked my water. I've drunk about 3.5 cups so far today. I guess I should drink a little more? Surely, a cup of decaf tea this evening should count.

LOL Kathryn! I'm quite sure my dog would have ordered her ice cream in a cone.

I too am curious about the crate covers, Elizabeth. For animal crates?

Is dd tired, Mystery?

I jogged 3.5 miles, only when I got home and told dh the bridge I had gone to - which he had told me was the halfway point for 3.5 miles - he said that was actually a little less than 3.5 miles. Oh, well. I jogged about 44 minutes -- so not very fast, slower at the end, but I also felt OK at the end.

Dh has gone to meet with a friend. Dd14 is practicing her oboe. Dd16 is doing hw, I think. . . . The kitchen is cleaned up. I'm going to:

-take care of a small load of jeans
-make muffins for bfasts
-work on Hebrew; if I do about 5 verses a day, it isn't such a big time drain.

Man, what a day!

Hi everybody! Waving and wishing Sunny a happy birthday! Isn't October 2nd the absolute best day of the year to have a birthday? :D

I took the day off work. Got 2 very important cheques written and dealt with as soon as I woke up today.
Went to the taxi licensing office and renewed my cab license for 2 years.
Filled my car with gas.
Came home, got dh moving eventually.
Drove to Niagara Falls and back. Beautiful colours! Reds and yellows and a bit of green left. I bought some fudge in Jordon. Praline fudge to die for.
Stopped at Oakville Place for a shopping break. Bought 2 egg rolls. :D
Dh took me out for dinner. Indian. Thank goodness we only eat there a few times a year.
Dh made the bed and now he ran me a hot bath and brought me a cup of tea and announced that my bath will be cold if I don't get moving.

Have a great night everybody!!

Cathys - was today your birthday, too? We don't have you listed on the important days list. Just send Dee a PM with important dates - your birthday, DH's birthday, Special anniversaries, etc.

A man just drove by on the road with this strange machine. He went down on the beach and spread out a sail and took off over the lake. So pretty.

My Ta Da for tonight, so far is:
- Emptied DW
- Listened to music, relaxed, and wrote 1 letter
- Called DD, left a message
- Emailed Dson
- Did calendar reminders
- Set the dawn simulator, got a.m. clothes out, ta da list ready
- Put day runner away and wrap-around glasses, too.
- Emailed DD and Dsis
- Hung up some clothes, planned my dinner and tidied the eating bar.

MT, I didn't realize you needed to send a PM with important dates. Good idea.

Cathy, Happy Birthday to you, too! :D

helia, Nothing can be done now, but if it gets worst, there is a surgery. He just said it's serious business. :(

scattered, I hope you get to feeling better! :!:

Twins' Mom, How many dogs do you have and what breed? :?:

DH built a fire in the fireplace insert. It's beautiful to see the flames rising and falling, to hear the fire pop and crackle. Tomorrow he takes his DFriend out to celebrate a postponed b-day lunch because his DF had to work so much this summer in his DBro's shop, as well as get firewood with DH. It'll be nice to have some time alone, since I was with DH all day and with so many people at the clinic, too. I'll put some things on my list tonight, to do during my quiet time.

Dsis emailed she thought my eye problems were due to reading and writing! DH said, "You also have to remember she has asthma, Emphysema and smokes, too!" I guess she doesn't know much about health. Sad. :(

Oh, my! I just realized tomorrow's anti-procrastination day and desk day for me. I guess I'll be doing desk things while DH is gone. The house will be quiet, meaning no TV, if he's not here, and I can play music and get to work. I'm so glad I remembered Hump Day tomorrow. It's also get-the-garbage-dumped day because Thurs. is garbage day, too.

Have a GR8 night, Everybody! :D

Check in before lights out....

Dinner was good, dessert was delicious!

MT, the scene of the lake looks peaceful. I liked the pictures of Rt 66.
Mystery, sorry to hear of all the church closings. I guess there's not as many attending services. I would think that would affect a lot of people in the neighborhood who have no other way to get there but walking.
Harriet, that's so frustrating to find the store closed. I'd be calling them bright and early tomorrow morning!

Errand day tomorrow. Dh has an INR test in the morning. We'll stop by the P.O. after that, then see where else he wants to go.

Thank you again for all the birthday wishes; loved all the different colors and Harriet's graphic greeting! I have had a pleasant day!

My meeting tonight went very well. I had 5 items that needed approval and all but one were fully approved (one better than I thought) and the last was modified. The minister will be getting a new laptop (the existing one is 5 years old, slow and starting to degrade so backups are very regular now as we wait for the drive to fail completely.)

I got home early but dh was watching a movie so I moved to the basement away from the noise (he usually watches with headphones on but I thought I'd give him a break) and watched the end of a movie I was watching the other night that I didn't realize went until midnight until I was engrossed in it! Found it online so was able to watch the end without commercials.

I'm off to bed now. Sort of tired so hopefully I'll be able to sleep. I'll take a 3 mg melatonin just in case.

Dsil had his dissertation today and (pending some editing changes to his thesis) is now a Doctor. I'm relieved. Started to think this day may never come!

Sunny, I'm glad you had a nice day.

Wow, Harriet, that's some dog story. Too bad the store was closed.
Lilac, I need you to look at my rotary cutter and see if I have it back together the right way!

Ivy, I am glad for your good news, sad for the bad, and impressed with your good attitude about it all.

Tonight was our committee meeting, so I made dinner early and got ready. Just as I'm waiting to leave, our tenant comes in with a few months' rent - that's good - but it was cash and all in $20's which I had to stop and count. So I was a bit late arriving. Man, our church is going through so much turmoil right now. Personnel changes, one of which leaves both the Men's Ministry and the Women's Ministry without leaders. We are trying to fill in for the Women until they get some people in charge. I can't take on any more, and I'm not a leader anyway, so I'll just attend the extra meetings and help where I can.

Did the forgotten paperwork with DH tonight when I got back. He's still mad I didn't remind him about it. So when I forget to pay a bill or something, I guess I'll blame him......... actually, he wants me to be up in the wee hours of the morning when he thinks of stuff. Maybe when I'm all better I'll work on that. Maybe.

Going off to make lunches.
