Well, I'm not sure about Kathryn's French, but I took it in school for 9 years.

Sometimes when bilingual announcers (French ones for me in Canada and also lately Punjabi ones) need to say a word like "W almart" or "T arget" they just use the English word for the store name. If it was a target, like in archery, they would possibly use whatever the word would be in their language.

After a quick CUOP... T arjay is just how some people refer to T arget, it's just to make the store sound like it's fancier than what it might be. The Canadian ones aren't the same as the American ones, in that we don't get the same prices or bargains that can be found in the States.

HAPPY CANADA DAY!!! It's after midnight.

Wow -- 7 pages -- and I've missed everything! Just wanted to let y'all know I was still doing okay -- no problems getting back into the "new" village -- just really hectic days around here (lots of nana-duty)!
