While walking this morning I realized that I am showing signs of being depressed. I recognize the symptoms from decades ago when I had to take prescription meds for 3 months to get me through it. Depression is real and I have no problem taking meds if needed. Acknowledging the problem is a good place to start.
I think my depression is coming from the "long goodbye" with the continual care of DH. Those of you who have been through this or are going through this experience know well the increase load it places. This most likely isn't a short-term experience but could be decades so I need to prioritize taking the best care of myself.
EVERYONE has struggles and challenges in their life. The reason behind these struggles may be different but the ability to come here and acknowledge them in a safe place is a relief. iYKWIM
