LadyM I love your idea of Pathways. Getting back to written routines was my goal for OCtober-November. So far I have writen down my morning routine, but I'm not entirely satisfied with it. There are different mornings, so some parts of the routines don't applu to all days... Before bed routine is evolving, too.
Are routines supposed to remain a work-in-progress ? Or does one finally end up with a routine and stick with it forever / for a long time ?
kittykatt WTG using your lightbox daily. I hope you are rewarded with energy and productivity. The winter time change since last week has helped me with enjoying daylight earlier. I think by mid-November I will use the lightbox some mornings.
Trying to assess how well I have been doing, before the month is over.
Daily floss : ☑_☑☑☑ ☑☑☑☑ ☑☑☑☑☑ ☑☑☑☑☑ ☑☑☑_☑ ☑☑☑_
Daily pelvic floor habit : ☑_ _ _☑ ☑_ _ ☑_ ☑☑_ _☑_☑_ _ _ ☑☑ _ _ _ ☑ _ ☑_ _ _
Daily strength training : _ _ ☑_☑ ☑☑_☑☑ _ _☑ _ ☑ _☑☑_ _ ☑_ _ _ _ ☑ _ _
No sugar before 4 pm ☑☑☑☑_ ☑☑☑☑_ _ _☑☑☑ ☑_☑_☑ _ _ ☑☑☑ _☑__
No screens after 10 pm ☑_☑_ _ ☑☑_☑☑ _ ☑_ ☑☑☑☑☑ ☑_ _ _☑ ☑☑_ _ _ _☑__
A general sense of discipline : ☑☑☑☑☑ ☑☑☑☑☑ ☑☑☑☑☑ ☑☑☑☑☑ ☑☑☑☑☑ ☑_☑☑
This last habit seems to change a lot of things. It's more a mindset change than a habit probably, but I'm leaving it in the list.
Not sure what I will focus on in November. Just sticking to those habits above is a challenge.

I believe even well-established routines are always evolving as life changes. When I was raising toddlers, my routines were different than when I was raising teenagers. Working full-time brought its own routines, which changed again after I retired. I imagine when we become empty nesters, our routines will shift even more. Even the changing seasons have an impact on my routines.
Having established pathways and steps gives me the time and freedom to focus on what matters. My goal isn’t necessarily to do more, but with the available time and energy, it feels nice to consider new opportunities.

I spent some time reviewing my October numbers for the healthy habits I track daily. I like to step back and look at the daily numbers averaged by week and for the entire month. Then, I compare the monthly averages for the entire year to spot trends quickly.
I’m frustrated that my weight has stayed the exact same for five months—June, July, August, September, and October. I haven’t lost a single pound since May 2025. On the bright side, I’m happy that I’ve managed to maintain the 30 pounds I lost since July 2024.
