we ended up having a family recipe (Bibeleskaes) with boiled fingerling potatoes tossed with a bit of butter, parsley and salt and pepper, and oven roasted asparagus with olive oil, dried herbs de provence and salt and pepper.

left overs tonight: tomato soup, sandwich of french crusty country bread with brie made of goat cheese, fig jam topped with prosciutto (I find I like the herb goat cheese better on this sandwich).

last night we had chicken parmesan, some left over veggies
I made the challenge of the week. dd's liked them. (they were gone by the time I woke up)

tonight... who knows... throwing caution to the wind (which will mean by dinner time I will have to scramble to make something because I will have the age old question asked by my family.. "what's for dinner?" 8-) maybe I can hide behind my sun glasses.

my youngest daughter made a really good shortbread cookie (she turned the round shortbread into a cookie)

http://bernadettesgranddaughter.blogspot.com

if anyone wants the recipe instead of going on martha stewart's website i would be happy to give it to you.

Yesterday I made the challenge of the week, it was a little too froophy for me but it was good but it did help me learn so that's always a good thing.

today is meal plan day. done :D tonight wedding soup, Alsatian egg pancake thing do from my youth Eirekuche
monday: no meat monday
tuesday out for dinner - get d br in law some italian cookies for his birthday
wednesday:
thursday:
Friday: dd is coming home
Saturday:
Sunday:

Goals for dinners and try its this week:
1. Alsatian onion pie (like a pizza with onions), my mom's salad dijon vinaigrette - was delicious dh even liked it
2. soups for the week (we make one or two a week): Wedding soup and Chicken dumpling soup :D
3. Meatballs in spicy beef stock sauce with mashed potatoes
4 meringue with vanilla ice cream, raspberry sauce for company
5. lentil salad for lunch
6. I have left over bacon... fusilli (a curly pasta) with onions, bacon and mushrooms decided against this as we have had bacon already this week
7. I still have grapefruit and avocados so another salad :D
8. egg prosciutto filled french bread recipe for Sunday morning
9. carrot salad -my mothers and grandmothers
10 cucumber salad with dill :D

I am working on trying all the pie crust recipes slowly of course so that I can narrow them down to our favorites
trying to invent an appetizer recipe
also trying different salad dressings
I have asparagus, zucchini, carrots,
thyme, dill, basil to use up

This week I have a plan did turkey sausage patties for dinner. We've decided that we do not "need" cheap chicken from the deli every week just b/c they have it on Mon. and we need to be saving that to make it more of a special occasion thing.
Tues. tonight soft tacos beef.
Need to make veggies with the other two for later to be seen again on Wed. planned leftovers the other two sausage patties I cooked the other nite. get out from freezer
Thurs. ? TBA
Fri. Bean wraps.
Sat. TBA
Sun. TBA
