Re: ***Holiday Planning, 2014***
An Alaska friend is making me a Christmas gift. I started potholders for her, but my rotator cuff surgery shoulder hurts too bad to crochet. I want into my "gift stash", found 5 nice dishcloths, in her kitchen colors, and will send them, instead of potholders.
I plan to resume crocheting the puppet for DGS-5.5 on Thanksgiving evening, when our guests have returned home.
We'll mail 4 gift mailers and Christmas cards out on December 1st, too.
I cleaned my entry way china cabinet, will do the dining room one tomorrow, so they'll both be bright, clean, and shiny for Thanksgiving.

Got the mailer ready, with the Christmas card/note inside it, for the Alaska friend.
The main/guest bathroom's decorated all Christmas-sy. The powder room is also. So is the dining room table, and the great room area was all decorated on 11-15-14.

Re: ***Holiday Planning, 2014***
My 4 holiday gifts mailers go out tomorrow at the P. O. and DH will mail all of our cards, too.
I still need to:
1- crochet dgs-5.5's bath puppet,
2- wash/dry with dryer sheets, each of the 3 afghans,
3- wrap/label the afghans and bath puppets,
4- count down until Christmas....
5- wrap 3 pkgs. of Aplets & Cotlets candies for 3 different people, too.
6- finish last-minute gift-giving, for our Christmas celebration day, whenever that will be.
We tend to go by what Dson/Ddil are wanting to do, for our Christmas holidays. Sometimes they host it at their home, but with them moving in January, cleaning for their move, and organizing and decluttering, they may not want it at their home. On the other hand, there are 9 of them, they need to bring 2 vehicles here, if all 9 of them come together, and they may not want to do that either. Everything's always so up in the air, until the last possible minute. DH and I are merely there for the ride, to do what our adult kids want to do, so we're flexible, always, and will do whatever's needed or will go wherever who wants us where and/or when.
We cannot make specific plans, too far ahead, in other words, because it always seems like there is an emergency, illness or family crisis at the last minute, which changes everybody's plans, somewhat. We're hoping for a healthy, happy holiday season this year, with no friction or upsets. It can be "challenging" sometimes, to say the very least.

The buffet was a hit yesterday! Yea for that success.
I have one family Hanakua gift basket I just need to put the blue tissue paper in it and think about the red and green Christmas one for dd & family.
I have a late bday card and gift to get ready to mail.

Re: ***Holiday Planning, 2014***
We mailed 4 gift mailers to my 4 friends I'd picked out and our Christmas cards, too.
Tomorrow, I'll TRY to crochet bath tub puppet #3, wrap the puppets/label them, wash/dry the afghans, with a dryer sheet, making them smell good and softer, and plan to wrap/label them, too.
Once the grandchildren gifts are done, I'll wrap BFF's potholders and her DH's Aplets & Cotlets. Then, an elderly (98.5!) dear friend of mine, is getting a wrapped box of Aplets & Cotlets from us/me. I've been thinking about taking a pink scarf I'd made myself, to give it to her, instead. It's nice, warm, shorter and would be perfect inside her coat or a blouse or vest, to keep warmer in the winter months. Often times, she sits outdoors, to sip her afternoon tea, so the scarf, along with hats I've made her, would come in very handy for her to wear at tea time and for her Dr. appt.'s, too. I also want to wrap the P. O. carrier's box of Aplets & Cotlets, and give him a card, too. OH! I need to give 98.5 year old Dfriend a CARD, TOO! I never did one for her, in case she passed away! I wanted to wait until we visited her in person, to take a card/gifts then. I'm so glad I posted here, because I'd totally forgotten about her CARD! See what YOU GALS do for me???? You make me start thinking!

Re: ***Holiday Planning, 2014***
I need to write 2 cards out/with letters today, or tomorrow, too. 1 is for the lady who is the head of "Sunshine Friends," which is a volunteer card-sending group, to those who are ill, having b-days, etc... holidays cards, etc... 1 letter is to a pen pal, whom I already mailed a card to, but I owe her a letter, which came yesterday. I won't be finished by mailtime today, because I'm in the office, but plan on mailing them out on Desk Day & Anti-Procrastination Day, which is always Wednesdays for me.
Will try to launder 1 scarf & 3 afghans, get them soft/dry, wrapped/labeled today- or tomorrow, whichever comes first!
